I love your Italian updates so much. I wish you lived there permanently and vlogged daily. You’ve come such a long way since “The ladies of London”. You are now coming across as a talented and natural beautiful lady who have found her joy in life and love to share. Thank you! 🙏❤️
Bravissima, Julie! As a mom of three, I have huge respect for your work. Your efforts to preserve your unique home and your need to return to school for your Masters are admirable! I'm looking forward to following your inspiring, joyous, contagious self at every turn of your wonderfully exciting, if exhausting, journey! The Best of Luck!!!
I see so much effort on your part, Viscountess. I’m sure it must be so draining to have such a large place to fix and finance, and surely the pressure is so great to want to keep it in the family and have your children inherit such an enormous blessing (yet an enormous burden at times, as well). 🙏My thoughts and prayers are with you, and if I had the money to offer support as a patron, I definitely would! There is absolutely no shame whatsoever in being a mother and taking care of your children the best way you know how and you’re clearly working so hard for them! Amazing that you are going for your master’s degree, on top of it all! I have a tremendous amount of respect for you. 👏👏👏 God bless and keep you and your family! ❤️ I will share your channel and try and promote it best as I can as a subscriber. 👍🔔 Take care and please try and rest! 🌷
What a riot! Who knew you could fix the grout color with a pen kit ? You were right, the dark grout is much better. I look forward to see what the pendant ceiling light looks like after Luke is finished with it! All your "Reclaimed" fixtures are very cool! They work well!
Hello 👋 Get a deep bucket and add hot water to cover 3/4 of the bucket then add item then 1 pound of Baking Soda and 1 Quart of white Vinegar. Leave overnight then you will see a beautiful chandelier. This works on cooper.
The chandelier is a steal at that price and so very beautiful. I was just looking at used chandeliers today and saw nothing to compare to yours. Have a wonderful time!
Love the chandelier. It could very well be bronze. What a find. You are a joy to watch. So upbeat. You bring a ray of sunshine I am sure to any one watching your videos.
Very nice little chandelier! What a treasure to unearth... I once bought a little brass Chinese vase with bas- relief dragon curled around it, at an estate sale long ago. It was so ancient that the dark thick patina looked like bronze..and I tried to clean it with Brasso🤦😩🚩 Turns out that little mistake decreased it's value by hundreds of $$... it was a rare piece. Just a word to the wise....😎
Dear Julie ! I just want to alert you to the amazing possibilities of baking soda for cleaning. I tried it on everything, as a paste mixed with water, it cleaned my oven. And believe me, this oven was a nightmare of residue I couldn t even identify. Just saying. Take care !
Agree about the grout choice, it blends in better but also darker grout hides dirt better. Also probably more ideal in bathrooms. Love the blazer and that magical chandelier!
That jacket looks awesome on you. Great purchase. Speaking of purchases - oh my goodness, that chandelier. I look forward to seeing what it looks like when you're done.
Beautiful acquisitions! The chandelier is a miracle! Some of your viewers said you should put some ornamental stripes above the yellow colour in the bathroom. I believe you should consider it! Maybe an antique wall paper stripe.. The dark grey is definitely the right colour for the tile
I’m so happy for you that you can just pop over to Italy now. I used to live in England, (now Italy) and it was so painful to NOT be in Italy that my heart hurt. 😫 Fabulous chandelier!
The chandelier is gorgeous. The little twist of fate with via Julia is a good sign ! With our little Italian house we found papers relating to a previous owner 'Rolando' and my husbands name is Roland !! We have the same problem with plants. My Pomegranite in a pot lasts for ages without water and dry climate plants like succulents and agaves are surviving well in pots with little attention, we are only there a few times a year for now 🙂
Absolutely gorgeous. You are so very lucky! The floor looks so much better. There is nothing like the smell of freshly hung sheets! Fabulous chandelier 💎 can you imagine it’s history?
Every little step and change you make, is bringing your lovely home to life! We arrive in September and can’t wait to start our changes and decorating our new little home just an hour away from yours! Viva la Toscana! PS your new blazer looks great on you! 🥰♥️☀️🇮🇹
A chandelier restoration expert on Chateau Diaries recommended using white spirits/ mineral spirits for the final cleaning of the crystals. It removes all traces of oils from hands etc. Hope you felt renewed.
So happy you and Emma could be in Italy and enjoy yourselves. The gout pen does make a big difference.I really like the result. I look forward to learning more about the chandelier. Love from Vermont
Love your videos! Am curious about why hang wet towels folded over. I always hang mine from one end so they hang unfolded over. I think the citrus trees or something similar in pots would be fabulous on your patio.
I hope my daughter and I have fun adventures together like you too! I'll have to watch for her to grow up first though 😄 That lamp is killer - I'm glad youre going to research it befoe cleaning! Love your videos!!
I live in Colorado and have a small 18th century Pied-à-Terre in Lisbon with outside plants (actually in the enclosed patio area) and literally take them in the house when I leave. My housekeeper waters them. Might be a solution but you'll need a plant that will also thrive indoors and outdoors. Or keep near the most sunlit window. Or visit more often !! Buona fortuna e goditi la tua bella casa!
I recommend that you hang your shirts with a hanger, then hang the hanger on the clothes lines OR pin the hem of a shirt so that wrinkles are minimal. I would also pin one end of your towels so that you don't get that hard line in the middle :) I lived in Fivi in 2019 but headed home once Covid came along.
Excellent! Love how the darker grout came out with the bathroom floor. And the chandelier looks like a super choice, too! You've got quite the terrace and view from it, always enjoy seeing it from there. What about a plant of some kind on the terrace? I'd grow tomatoes up there, except if you're not around long enough, that might not be the best idea. However, there's got to be something that'd work out ok. Cheers!
My mother never put towels over the line. She would pin two corners to the line. And be aware that where you put the pins will not be lightened by the sun.
The green patina of copper? I would keep that if it were mine. I bought a brand new copper basin for rainchain runoff and waited for the patina to come. It’s finally starting and I love it. Your Italian retreat is so beautiful and the food nearby. Pasta is all time favorite. How can people leave these paradises so untouched by modern development? Good attachment to heritage, like your Mapperton too. What name are you giving the villa? Did I miss that? So many ?? today. Forgive. Stay happy and strong, Emma and Julie.👋🏼😊💕🇺🇸😎
Very nice video 💐, the best Vetril is the green one! The blue has ammonia in it and can ruin antiques..It did clean the cristals on the chandellier quite nicely tho. The white blazer looks lovely on you..good buy!
Where ever you can find water for outside hopefully on your patio get some fruit trees like your neighbors and set The water up on a drip system and a timer
Absolutely lovely. The chandelier appears to be copper or bronze with the greenish blue patina from weathering and the brass accents. The weathered patina look was gorgeous. I’m curious to see it in its final stage. 000 -00 Fine steel wool is best to use for restoration along with a hot water, til foil, baking soda bath/soak. If there’s no wiring then soaking in a tin foil lined bin or tub is best. Works amazing for sterling also. Best of luck! Many blessings!!
Hi dear Julie, I am watching your youtube videos about your new home in Italy! Really fun to watch and very inspiring! Now my husband and I might want to buy a house/apartment in Toscany as well. I believe you have one RU-vid Video interviewing an ITALIAN ESTATE AGENT, who is specialized in estates in Tuscany and specialized in taking care of buyers from foreign countries. I can not find this Video again. Can you kindly provide the contact to this Estate Agent once again!? Many many thanks for your efforts. Best wishes, Michele (I have already subscribed your channel! :=)
Uhm... The amazing "chandelier"... 2/3 of it, at least, is missing?? No sockets, no arms, no sockets(!!), nothing but the, sort of center rod of a chandelier? Yes, I too, will be VERY interested to see, what you plan to do with that... 🤔🤔🤔 Hang a bulb under it? Are you absolutely sure, that the lamp, you found it under, was not - the rest of it?? I'm sorry, but I can't help, sort of imagining the seller, when you paid, and left with just that one piece of the lamp 😂 Again, I'm sorry, but that is simply HILARIOUS!! 😂😂😂
