A perfect ending to a perfect opening day at Disneyland

Liz joins me for the second half of our Disneyland Opening Day visit. We got to take a secret entrance into the Haunted Mansion. We got to ride Pirates of the Caribbean. Liz got to see Snow White. And then some real magic happened. I got to film all around an empty Fantasyland in some of the most pristine conditions ever. THEN EVERYONE came together in front of the castle to say goodnight to Disneyland...and then never leave. For a solid hour guests hung around Sleeping Beauty Castle. Finally we made our way out to a lovely stroll down Main Street USA with nothing more than the lights and the music. A perfect ending to a perfect day.

I don't know why, but something about you walking down main street at the end, it just hit me that Disneyland has been closed for so long, and what a beautiful thing to see, all the lights, and music, and people enjoying main street like it was supposed to do. I don't blame you all for not wanting to leave... I wouldn't have wanted to either. Thanks for sharing it with us who couldn't be there

You could have walked down Main Street with the rest of the world, but closing out fantasy land the way you did for your muffins is what makes your channel what it is. Man, truly an artist. Thanks for the feels. And it’s like everyone just wants to hang out on main street for the next 12 month until fireworks happen. Haha.

Liz's reaction was priceless. Imagine if she went in the park in the morning seeing all the cast members on Main Street welcoming back the guests. I don't think she would've been able to control her emotions the whole day.

That feeling of not wanting to leave is all too familiar! Being from Canada our trips are usually at least a year apart, and on the last day of the trip we always stay as late as we can. It is so nice to see the happy faces of people visiting, and everyone just taking in each moment. Thank you for sharing! ❤️

Perhaps one of my fav things about this opening day was seeing everyone react and describe how they felt, and having that perfectly match how I react and how I feel whenever I visit once a year. I don't think AP necessarily took the parks for granted, but I think they're getting an insight to how out of state guests feel. Whenever I walk into the park, I cry. Whenever I leave, I cry. I know I'll only be there once a year, so my feelings are so heightened. It's fun to see those who went to the parks a lot gain that insight.

Thank you for a great year of keeping us in the loop, David. You gave us hope and helped to keep us feeling connected. You did very important work. The only one of you I've met in person was the only one who couldn't make it. I hope you were in contact with Adam that day. There's something about being around people who love Disneyland as much as you. There's a draw to meet you all because of the shared attachment and sentimentally to this home park in particular. I know the feeling of a park that is not just a park, but your life, your happiness, the place where you always want to be, if you are happy or sad. The reactions you both give are giving me shivers and let us all see that Disney is not just a place but a place that takes a little bit of space in your heart. A dream that one men had brings us happiness, for the ones that are lucky enough to go and all the viewers here. Please if you leave the next time end with a shot of Mr. Disney's lamp in his fire-station. This lamp embodies the real Disney spirit that there always will be light at the end of the tunnel. Lets hope we all can enjoy this magical place that means a for us, for everyone a little bit different but with a special place in our mind.

I loved your crystal clear POVs. This was one of your most heartfelt videos. It moved me. Pirates of the Caribbean is always my must ride attraction every time I’m at Disneyland, which is pretty often. My first ever Disney Park ride. It was at Florida’s Walt Disney World in 1980, when I was 13 years old.

Great video of Liz. I feel the same every time I go to Disneyland because I don't get to go but every 2 to 3 years. Of course its different having Disneyland closed for a year with every thing going on. Having Disneyland open again is a great comfort. Thanks for sharing FreshBaked!

The last 10 min of this video destroyed me! Beautiful shots of Fantasyland! I closed my eyes and listened to the rides as I normally do on your ride throughs, have to save the actual sights for my live eyes. I haven’t been on Indiana Jones in at least 13 years. I knew the indoor line took forever but I truly didn’t realize how looooooong that line is! You sped up the film and it was still long! It’s not one of my favorite rides but it’s still fun and I have great nostalgia from my youth when the ride was brand new and the anticipation to ride it winding through those caverns was so intense!

i think some of the portraits they used on the "secret entrance" were old versions of the ones in the elevator....those have to be changed out every so often,simply from rolling up and down so many times....and they wear out. they didnt look exactly the same as the ones in the elevator.....they looked like old versions.but no question,liz's reaction to going in the back way was like a kid in a candy store...because it was new....and that reaction was priceless.
