Nice vlog Simon, I really like seeing the whole process, and loved the subtlety of your edit. The colour palette of the scene lends itself nicely to interiors with a bright presence giving light to any wall.
@@SimonBaxterPhotography you are a class act mate, I'm sure they will. I sell images myself, but mostly they are local scenes of my city and region that connect in some way to the buyer. Your business model probably has that element, but also a wider pull of fans/followers and even woodland enthusiasts. I really respect your thought process, keep up the great work mate.
Beautiful photos from that day - interesting to see your editing overview, similar to my approach with woodland photography. I love seeing the detail in the trees but with a softness to maintain the feeling and mood of the time and location.
🌳❄️ The 'Winter Dress' print is only available to buy until the 12th of April: baxter.photos/shop/winter-dress/ Many thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed it! :)
Editing and print of high-key images with a lot of snow and ice can be a difficult job to bring out all the tones and textures. And the best papeers are essential. Hahnemuhle has a new paper it calls glossy, but has a mat-like finish. It's as smooth as the high gloss papers. Detail and clarity are excellent.
I think you are the best photographer that I follow, certainly for Woodland. You have inspired me to make more Woodland images and although there is quite a way to go, I think Woodland will be a large part of my photography going forward. I'm lucky though as there is Woodland belonging to a large Garden just over the road from where I live that I can practise in whenever I like. Great images, thanks.
Really happy to see you back Simon. It had seemed a long time. Calming pictures as usual. I enjoy so much your style of photography that I started to do some landscape photography and I bought the same camera and lens that you have. (Sony a7rIII and Sony 24-70 mm F 2.8 GM II). Could you make a video on your camera settings and your custom settings? Pleeeease? 🙏😊 I would be sooo happy 😉
"Make a photo that included Meg because you have to really don't you" made me laugh...shows your personality...love it. I so appreciate your glorious photos but what also engages so thoroughly is your sensitivity to your words which paint an exquisite complimentary picture. Well done. I'm so heartened to see you back.
Welcome back. I have to say 13 minute video isn’t enough of a Baxter fix. But will take it. Hope to see more of your meditations on life, photography and your passion and love for the living souls that are trees.
Wow, that scene is truly spectacular. I saw something one time that was sort of similar in the canyons of Utah, but nothing like this! Beautiful image.
Nice to see you back. The images are spectacular and your explanation on how you edited the one image was helpful. Enjoy your channel and of course Meg.
Wonderful images of exceptional conditions. Thanks also, Simon, for sharing your complete thought process from composition to post-processing. There was so much to learn from your workflow.
So nice to see you and Meg again Simon. I think my favorite way to see trees is in hoar frost. There is something quite magical about it and you capture so nicely.
Hi Simon. Wonderful to see you and meg out and about. I can sympathize with the back issues. Mine are still ongoing. As a result, I keep asking myself, " How do you lighten your kit without sacrificing image quality?" Such a conundrum. I hope you are doing well now, with your back issues behind you.
Simon, I had several opportunities this year to photograph frost, and not one of the hundreds of photos I took come close to looking this great. It is very impressive. Maybe next winter I can get a bit closer.
What a joyous morning to be out! That feeling comes across throughout this video, it's a treat, and although I can only view them on screen, the images are a delight. 😇 Say hello to Meg from us all...
Glad to see you out and about on such a fabulous morning after a difficult time .... and such a well crafted video ... without any actual video of the shoot ! Just goes to show you don't always need B roll filler !. Great images and some lovely restrained delicate processing that I need to try and learn to emulate. 🫤🫤
