I haven't kept up on the newer ones at all, but I know the Ford offerings after the 7.3 were questionable. Especially if you want to put a tuner on them. The Dodge stuff has been pretty good, but 50k+ for a pickup for me doesn't make sense. If I made my living with it and needed something new I'd be looking but I just don't. Someone I knew had bought one of those 6.7 Fords when they first came out and it needed an injector replaced. Apparently the whole cab needs pulled when that happens. I've had numerous trucks and the ones I like the most were the '88 Ford with a 7.3 IDI (although it had it's own set of troubles) and a '90 W150 Dodge, LA318 and a 4 speed. That was a great little truck. A lot of the new stuff (gas) is really incredible in it's longevity with very little need for repairs except oil/brakes/tires and there's something to be said for that. The diesel stuff is just costly to repair and requires special tools/scanners that the average guy ain't gonna have. But then again, if you're dropping 100k on a truck are you doing the work anyways?
