Just started playing again last year after about a decade and haven't played a multiplayer game. I don't like many people IRL, definitely don't like kids talking shit online.
@@callmepsycho3132 Might as well say almost all MP games don’t even come close to being as good as any single player games. I haven’t played an online MP game that lived up to the hype in several years.
Just finished Chapter 3, felt like I'm engulfed in a book filled with despair, tension, and occasional sweetness from the interaction between the two main characters. A wonderful game.
I am on chapter 16. I liked the game at first, but now it is just laborious. I just want to beat it and be done. Had a good idea, but the longer it went the more repetitive it got and I couldn't care less about Hugo or Amicia anymore.
The voice actors are not on the weaker side. Amicia and Hugo' s voice touches my heart. There's so much innocence and emotion in their voices. The intonations are bang on for these first time voice over artists.
HellBlade is and always be the number one best game ever made, but boy does this come close. Hellblades ending fight + song and credit song hits you right in the feels man, the entire game does
I liked this one better than Hellblade. Hellblade's puzzles are nonsense and the fighting is subpar and repetitive, even though it looks cool. Innocence is down to earth, believable and much more varied when it comes to gameplay mechanics. Hellblade wins on the graphics department though, the graphics are just unbelievable. And it's still a great story, I'd recommend. But not as much as this one.
@@miggy4105 but most linear games give fantastic experiences. Linear games can be extraordinary too, you know. Either way, I don't find myself playing open world games much after I have finished the story... except for Skyrim. Or Rdr2.
i disagree about the voice actors, i really liked all the main characters, there were a few moments that felt they had forced emotions out of nowhere, but overall very good job. plus i loved that they hired native french speakers to VA all the english cast, gives much immersive feel that you're in france.
They hired native French speakers because it’s game made by a French dev in France! We should be glad they hired native English speakers to voice that cast.
The graphics are pretty top notch for a game that I have never really heard of. Usually the games that fly under the radar have the graphics of a mobile game.
No, it only has good graphics because it's a linear story driven experience. If this was open ended in an way, it would look nowhere close to this. Think Senua hellblade type. It's always a give and take with non AAA titles like these.
Just started playing this and this is amazing. I’m halfway through. Graphics, music, story and most importantly the mood. I felt it was quite similar to Uncharted without the shooting. I just love the medieval setting. So beautiful, everything has huge attention to detail. Every area is unique and real. Looking forward to the sequel.
This looks and sounds like one brilliant, beautiful, stunning..... Escort mission.... At least you don't have Ashley screaming "Leon! Help!!!!!" Every other minute!
@@amyhoard1222 I completely agree. I start/stopped that game sooooooo many times because of her. Never did finish because I was so annoyed by the Midway mark I said to hell with it. Been meaning to replay those games since the whole RE2 remake though.
@Michael S oh no, my response was completely ambiguous. That's why I said "at least you don't..." It would be unfair to make that comparison without actually playing. I more meant it as "you'll spend a lot/a majority of the game escorting someone. Very few games have made escorting/protection missions enjoyable. TLOU at least made the NPCs smart enough so they fight back and don't stupidly run towards hoards of clickers. I think a lot of studios could learn from them 😁.
Coming from someone who listens to reviewers instead of playing Days Gone for yourself. Most people who are playing Days Gone are giving it 8 and 9. I love the game, way more fun than RDR2
Exclusivity isn’t a bad thing though, it allows games to flourish under a big budget which is what’s this game needed. The game looks like a 2014 game due to its poor budget, only exclusivity will fix it
@@Sal_O gta v was released 2013 and minecraft was released 2011 but a lot of people still play those old games Nothing's wrong with looking like a 2014 game of there are other benefits that carry the game like story for example
I've had my eyes on this game ...... glad to see you like it too Edit: Damn thanks for the love guys .... RU-vid has a great community .... can't wait to upload gameplay this game on RU-vid🔥
Anybody know how long the game is roughly? Hearing that it's a "little shorter" and single player is a good thing for me these days with my limited time to play on my Xbox One
I definitely agree. The whole "before you buy" thing is better than a review. Because instead of being more of an opinion based video, it tells you what to expect and you can decide for yourself if it makes the game worth playing.
Definitely is, though I do feel he may have understated how bad the voice acting was from the main characters. In all honesty, Amicia’s and Malee’s voices kind of drew me out of it at times. It was actually the little kid, Hugo, was the most tolerable.
Just finish the game and I have to say, it's been awhile I got so touching by a game. This game is so wonderful and deserve more spotlight. Wonderful soundtrack and the atmosphere is so good.
I think this game is decent but I wouldn’t compare it to the last of us. I feel like Ellie is a way better compagnion than Hugo, Ellie actually helps in combat while you always just end up babysitting Hugo. I also can’t stop myself from finding Hugo a little annoying. But hey thats my opinion.
Dude whatever you guys say, i played the last of us, i played this game. This game is phenomenal. Wouldn't compare it to the last of us. The vibe is totally different
Way better than the last of us in my opinion. Game play in the LOU is funner but the story just folds half way thru, the gameplay and story get better in plague.
even when i finish this gem of a game, i can't stop coming back to it. i'm currently on my 4th playthrough and i'm still so amazed by a plague tale: innocence. i feel like more games should be like this. it saddens me to know really good games don't get as much recognition. =(
The voice acting was great! I have no idea why you said it was weak at times. I thought it was an amazing experience all throughout the entire game. 10/10 from me! Also playing on the realistic difficulty made it that much more enjoyable even though it could get hard at some points, still worth it.
Feels so good to see the gaming community not bashing on these types of games. Hellblade is my absolute favorite game I've ever played through, playing this one as soon as I get a chance!
I will be supporting this game even though it’s a game I don’t usually play. I notice we need more consultantly great storytelling games, single player or multiplayer. Great review as always!
I thought about going back to this game since the new one is coming out next month. But your comment reminded me why I also didn't finish. Lol. I don't even remember the story being interesting enough to see past the simple gameplay. Maybe I'll give it another shot.
This is one of the greatest game ever...experience of a lifetime, the Innocence in the name was carried out throughout the game so well... it was simply marvelous.. what an intense music, what a gripping storyline, and aaahhhhhhhh.. what a gameplay!!! I am telling you, just get high and dive into this game, you'll disconnect from the world and would literally find yourself in 14th century... I bet indeed!
I would highly recommend to play this game with the French voiceover instead , it feels much more authentic and immersive and the quality sounds so much better overall , the subs help too! 👍🏻🐀
Didn´t played the game yet, but what if the rats were infected with the zombie fungus? The rats infected humans and the fungus mutated to the Last of Us zombie fungus, scientists found a cure and for centuries it stayed basically extincted. But because of the anti-vaxxers, the zombie fungus came back stronger than ever and that is what caused the apocalypse in Last of Us
Thought I'd give a random gamespass game a shot and I am not disappointed. This game is so good, how have I never heard of this game before? One of the best games I've played in a long time.
I love this game.. This is the only game I’ve been able to play and beat in 20 years (I’m horrible at gaming). Could someone suggest similar games in difficulty level and genre?
Hell Blade, Ghost of Tsushima, The last of us, Resident Evil series and Hollow Knight are all really similar, and keep an eye out for the sequel out next year! I hope you keep enjoy playing my friend!
@@yamjam1166 I know I'm not in the convo but I gotta say, any single player game with a difficulty setting is good for them, like Halo, COD campaigns, Resident Evil, Last of Us, Far Cry, Uncharted. Also games that aren't that tough like Assassin's Creed. Also PvE games like Warframe and Destiny can be a good one if you play with helpful people to carry you if you suck (Destiny and Warframe literally don't need skills, all they need are time to grind some OP gear)
I am same and i am playing Witcher 3. You can do the "Here for a story" mode and it will be super easy. Your choices matter and will give you different outcomes for the game's end as well as different outcomes for in-game missions. It is wonderful. (Just FYI, i am a kind of person who will be scared of fights, monsters, I panic when i get attacked or get in a fight in games but not Witcher 3) You can also change game difficulty any time!
I saw the gameplay trailer and immediately get a dishonored flashback with those rats. Been playing this game for a few hours now, I say it's very impressive, you guys should buy it if you have money to spare.
I saw the trailer and it looked interesting awhile back, I was just waiting for a review to see if it would be worth it since there is a list of just released/ soon to release games I want. This may be worth it :)
I just completed the game and eventhough it took a while for me to get into it, i loved it. Id give it 4,5/5. Not perfect, but pretty close. A great breath of fresh air from all the typical tripple A games.
In this video, you mention being close to 5 million subscribers, and here you guys are, 3 years later with over 7 million!! With Requiem right around the corner, I had to go back and play this one again. Such a fantastic single-player experience. Looking forward to Hellblade 2 as well.
I just saw A Plague Tale: requiem being shown on steam and I realised that it will be the second game and I found out that the first one is on gamepass, so I downloaded it. I'm almost half way through the game and it is quite good so far. Its always fun when I find a new story game to play through, I didn't even know this game existed till now, and it has been out for 3 years.
Not suuuper interested in this game, but I'm so glad you mentioned Hellblade. That's such an amazing, underrated game. Seriously, it's an easy top 10 of all-time for me. I wish I could wipe my memory of it, just so I could play it for the first time again. God, just thinking of that opening scene in the logboat, with my headphones on. It's so good!
playing this with the dualsense + 3D audio elevates this game in ways I’ve never experienced in other ps5 upgrade games it’s honestly crazy like while ur running u can feel her heartbeat thru the adaptive trigger get faster and more pronounced the further you run
I just finished playing the game and I could not recommend it enough! Its absolutely gorgeous! You develop a real connection to the characters, interesting story, amazing graphics/music and fun gameplay!
I searched for the trailer once.. ONCE!!!.. RU-vid 2 seconds after the trailer goes and recommends the ending that was uploaded 2 days ago and a bunch of spoilery thumbnail vids..... The heck?? The game came out today didn't it???
Thumbnail spoilers on RU-vid are a big thing now, and it sucks. I got one episode of game of thrones spoiled because for some reason the video got in my recommended (with a spoiler in the thumbnail), even though I never watch game of thrones videos. The worst thing is you can't even avoid them, like I haven't even searched for things, they were just there in recommended. So just by watching this video i now risk having the game spoiled by recommended
I love the fact that this game exists in 2019! At a time when most game dev/publishers are more interested in spitting out live services and repetitive open world games crammed with loot boxes and micro-transactions, seeing games like this is so refreshing! I honestly think this will be, what GoW was for me in 2018, my SP GOTY!
I am currently playing this game and I am about 6 hours into it (Chapter 10), and I can honestly say this one of the absolute best games that is out there. The story, the graphics, the music, the stealth, the rats everything about this game is done in a very thoughtful way. I can not reccomed enough this game, you will remember this game for a long long time.
I was playing this game in bed and i heard a voice calling out Elijah. My name is not Elijah its Albert. then suddenly all the colours in the room started shifting and mixing together and i was having to duck from sharp particles of light flying round the room. Next thing i know it is 20 minutes later and i dont remember anything else
I decided to play this because I've heard a lot of great things about Requiem, so I had to play the first one to see what are these games about. Absolutely loved it! A linear game with a solid story. Can't wait to get the 2nd one!
I’ll get it an a month or two. Gotta catch up on some other games. Looks good tho. Would’ve been cooler if they had a co-op mode like that Brothers game.
Yeah I've noticed from the earliest trailers that this game has a problem with character facial animations but I don't mind that. I've always been interested in story driven survival games and I love the game's settings.
Games used to be about just having a good time and good experience. Now with all these Battle Royale based games, its just toxic, people turning into savages, and just hell.
An asshole person is an asshole person, regardless of what genre of game they play. I enjoy games like this and Fortnite. It doesn't make me terrible just because I can be diverse. Get over yourself, because that high horse of yours is what's toxic.
I don't usually play any sort of horror (its probably not even under horror) games, with some exceptions. But this game, the story, the characters, the beautiful as well as the grim scenery. Even though my heart was racing and I was actually a little scared at times, I couldn't stop playing it. (I completed it, despite having to redo whole bits because of glitches/bugs, and the last boss) I am looking forward to the sequel
In a year where my most highly anticipated games come out, such as Resident Evil 2 and Kingdom Hearts 3, this game somehow managed to catch me off guard and come out on top. The year is far from over as we're only in July, but as we stand right now, A Plague Tale: Innocence is my Game of the Year for 2019.
