Good tutorials also to mention that the sword and sxthye use the same sholderpad, so would have to magnetize the pad also with a very small magnetic otherwise one arm won't have one
Typically you do it after you magnetize since it means less chance of your paint job getting smudged or rubbed off when handling parts. Plus then if you messed up like me you can know what parts attach to what model in case you mess up polarities when assembling.
No. I guess when I was working on that arm it wasn’t fully straight when I drilled and put the magnet in so it’s a bit off when the arm is aligning with the sword. If I glued it whole I feel it would mess up the point at the shoulder and I don’t really like the idea of a whole attached arm set too much, if that makes sense.
Well...if you already glued and painted the models together, there's not much you can do. I mean, you CAN cut the arms off but most of the arms are designed to fit into the sockets of the torso and so most likely you'd be left with really wonky arms if you managed to make magnets work. Magnets are something that you need to plan well ahead of time and before you fully assemble a model like this with very specific fitting parts as opposed to models with flat surface joints (like old space marine arms to torsos). My recommendation is if you already have fully assembled models, leave them as is. Worst you can do is just proxy say they have a different loadout in game.
I used a daemon skull from the Citadel Skulls pack. Thought it would be a fitting replacement since I imagine skulls throughout a forest in Warhammer. Plus I ran out of regular pads and didn’t want to use a right side one I had left.
