Thank you for mentioning poor woman that cook with dirty energy. I work in Haiti in the mountains with the poorest famers. The biggest change for healthy children in our school was getting rid of charcoal cooking in the confines of the home kitchens. No more respirary illness means less sick children and parents.

Cooking over wood fires is worse than smoking a pack of cigarettes a day. However, the other alternative is to build clean burning properly vented stoves out of clay and sand. That doesn't require a change in fuel source, and would be much more accessible to the poor.

Michael Shellenberger reached a turning point in his activism when he made the correct determination that renewables were not the solution and nuclear was not the evil it was purported to be. To me, that was the one significant turning point for him. Whether you subscribe to the AGW hypothesis or not, his promotion of a more logical, truthful and humanistic approach makes sense and is the only course that will not lead to significant human suffering and large scale rebellion by populations suffering under unrealistic energy policies currently being implemented by many developed countries.

I've read and listened to enough real scientists to have come to the conclusion that we are being forced into Global Taxation via the GW, movement, I see the movement as nothing more than a sensational fear-mongering scam, you will see me mention Hegelian Dialectic as you read further, I'm sure you will see how that old playbook ties in with GW/CC, also note that imv they changed the Title from GW to CC so they could 'pretend' to get something right half the time lol. Regarding Nuclear Power I think this is his 'blind spot'. 1 Everything you see today regarding energy is pushing us into nuclear power, NOT Away from it, see Hegelian Dialectic. There is not a snowballs chance in @@@ that Calif for instance will meet energy needs for their Elect vehicle mandates using solar, wind etc, absolutely no way. --------------------------------------------- Opinion; 2 We should use Nuclear power on a limited basis. Nuclear power; 3 Among first targets in war are power plants, which 4 can be destroyed by conventional weapons and explosives, deliverable by several means including 5 terrorists coming in from across our open-border, or terrorists already in the US, as well as hostile jets and drones. 6 We would need approximately 500 nuc plants, evenly distributed throughout the US to replace current power-generating systems. 7 All of our power plants could be damaged to the point of meltdown within one day, rendering America virtually 7 uninhabitable for 100's if not 10's of thousands of years. Barring hostile attacks, the 8 spent fuel is toxic for 250k years, 10k generations. 9 We can't vouch for the state, knowledge or capabilities of the next 3 or 4 generations let alone 10k generations from now, due to natural disasters, disease, war, famine etc.. 10 Nuc power is not clean, safe, affordable, nor responsible. 11 The Fukushima disaster alone, has sounded the alarm on health and safety issues around the globe, prompting Japan's fishing industry to cultivate 'new-markets'.* We need alternative energy sources in America to be sure, Nuclear Power though is an extremely poor choice on 'scale'. *Probably 3rd world mkts, where the consuming public is generally not as aware nor as discriminating as 1st world markets.

Nuclear is necessary for our energy needs, now and in the future. Fact is it’s more expensive per kWh than most all other sources. That includes the cost of new modular reactors. Michael’s spewing misinformation about US oil and gas production. The US set records in natural gas production and is on track to produce even more each year for the next 5 years. (EIA) The US has been producing the same amount of crude oil as before COVID for the last 2 years (11.7 million barrels per day) and producers may increase to 12 mbpd but don’t want to produce so much more that the price per barrel drops. 600 oil and gas companies went bankrupt between 2015-2021 walking away from $400 billion in unpaid bills. That money was never factored into the price at the pump because they didn’t pay the production cost. (Haynes Boone bankruptcy monitor) I agree with much of what Michael says, but like the NYT he’s lying about oil and gas production and long term promise as a cheap fuel.

I tell anyone who will listen that my grandparents generation would own one toaster their whole life. It would be repaired if it broke down, but mostly they didn't breakdown in their lifetime. The owners of that toaster company were proud of the quality of their products and were happy to put their family's name on those products. They knew all their employees because they worked in the same building. Now we are lucky if a toaster lasts 10 years. Its hard to find anyone who can repair it and sometimes they are built so they can't be repaired. This inbuilt obsolescence is creating huge mountains of landfill the world over. The shareholders of that toaster company only care about profit. Probably dont live in the same country as the employees. The more landfill they can create they wealthier they become and they will drive the quality down until they've ruined the good name of the company. Then they'll dump those shares and go do it all over again with another company.

If a product never breaks down, the company that made it only makes a profit off it once. Selling fewer products means employees are paid less, then let go as product sales stall, and eventually the company closes. To keep citizens employed, there has to be reasons to keep building new products. Inbuilt obsolescence is a requirement in a capitalist society like ours. I'm not a fan of it by any means but you can trace it back all the way to the commercial sales of the light bulb. In fact, read up on the history of light bulb sales.

These ARC talks are great. I am grateful for all the work that went into them. It is so refreshing to hear honest wisdom no matter subject, even more so when concerning a subject that needs honest light on it.

The Great Barrier reef is fine. It's had a 36% increase.

36% increase since more than 50% of it died off. That means it’s way smaller than before. Learn maths.

Er No. Only the sewage water outflows from main cities are the problem there, not global warming, or hotter seas, as is claimed.@@MZ99698

@@MZ99698Correlation doesn’t not imply causation. The reef has had 36% increase since records of it began. Meaning there isn’t a record of it dying off by 50%, as that was an arbitrary number placement to imply the facade of climate change disaster. Coral reefs, forests, grasslands have all been affected by many things yes, but not by the usage of fossil fuels in the way they’d like you to believe. Did you miss the part of the presentation where they have a direct link of increased energy output being a big factor to these once dying off areas returning to their natural glory? Overfishing, oversized farmland footprints, and deforestation were great causes. Is there climate change? Yes to a degree but based on mud and ice core samples from around the globe, the earth has been both much hotter and much colder many times over suggesting that the earth and its current poles shifting are part of the natural cycle, and will do what it does with or without humans DOJ what humans do. Again, correlation does NOT imply causation like you’ve been told.

This man has been a respectable source for UAP and Disclosure advocacy. I'd love to see his arguments being peer reviewed by people like Sir Attenborough, who advocate for the mass extinction and the climate catastrophe. I'm glad we're talking about it, reasonably.

Superb! Thanks for the succinct summary and the reason to be intelligently optimistic. I've been collecting newspaper reports on climate change for 30 years and it worried me that there was never any sign of opposing opinions and also of a growing change from environmentalism-looking after people and animals and their environment- to 'saving the planet', whoever that is, with no mention of people, or denigration of people: not a healthy sign, not sane, in fact. The truth has been creeping out over the last couple of years, including the fact that scientists can't earn a living if they challenge the religious adoption of climate alarmism, still being spread by the BBC. I flew over the Great Barrier Reef in the winter of 2019, to visit my daughter in NZ, and looking down at its sheer beauty was amazed. I had been given the impression that it was over. Even if it had been true about the doom and gloom, I would still have supported looking after people for as long as possible-there was always a chance 'the science' had got it wrong.
