Excellent news!! Here in Ottawa we have a new phase 1 bispecific trial starting in July 2022. I'm on carfilzomib at the moment. Last year I had a rapid weight loss of 32 pounds. Very sick during 2021. I'm a 17 year survivor. I started gaining weight in March. So far I have done 27 races ranging from 10K to 26K. I might be relapsing so my hemotologist will put me in the new trial. First of its kind in Canada!!! 🙂

Hi rmcellig. 17 years and multiple treatments is a long time to deal with this terrible disease. God speed they find a cure for you I am a 75 years old Vietnam Vet who for the heck of it under the PACT 𝖠𝖼𝗍 had my local VA Hospital test me for MGUS of which I am positive for both blood and sugar so; needless to say a lot more test awaits me in the next month. My question to you is: Over the 17 years you have had this disease how many times have you been tested for MGUS? Were you tested initially or did your doctor go straight to the bone marrow biopsy? I am asking you this because right now I don’t feel any different then I did before the test. I am still playing golf and so forth. Also I understand that some researchers theorize that MGUS is possibly the end stage of MM disease. So seeing I am 75 after watching this video I have to decide for myself if I want any agressive treatment related to MM or not as I am feeling well all things considered Thanks in advance for answering my question.

@@thomasfraser9072 nice to hear from you and thank you for your service!!! Regarding my myeloma the hemotologist thought it was mgus but when I had the biopsy and skeletal survey. I had multiple myeloma. I was smoldering for 9 years.

Do you consider yourself in remission? Do they redo a MGUS test to determine this. Hope you stay well and can now enjoy life.
