"A PROPHET HAS NO HONOR IN HIS OWN COUNTRY” (Mark 6:1-6) Fr. Dr. Patrick Merceline D’Souza (Please read this entire passage from Google so that you may understand the reflection better)
Mark reports in this passage from the gospel of Mark (Mark 6:1-6) how the people from the hometown of Jesus who were amazed at his teaching and who had witnessed the remarkable miracles he was performing were not prepared to accept Him because they could not understand how this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon and his sisters who were with them had got those things and what was the wisdom that was given to him and what were those remarkable miracles he was performing and they took offense at him. And as a response to what they were thinking, Jesus told them “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.” (Mark 6:4)
