Oh wow! You read my mind! The calendar was driving me bananas. Thanks SO very much! This is way better and especially since I can still do the "group" by and "sort" by options. Thanks again! 🎉👍
I don't know why I'm unable to leave todoist to tick tick but each time I see your videos it pushes me towards this beautiful platform. Keep up the good work Joshua.
Do the free TickTick trial and immediately import all your Todoist tasks. I used Todoist for about a year and got up to the Expert or Master Level and just wanted something different, so I switched to Microsoft To-Do for about a year, but after awhile I just couldn't take the lack of task prioritization any longer. Tried to go back to Todoist twice but just couldn't, and then I found TickTick! The import feature on TickTick worked great; it quickly and easily imported my MS To-Do tasks, along with my existing folders. TickTick works great for me and the price is better than Todoist, and I don't feel like I've taken on another identity with TickTick, whereas when I'm in Todoist, I feel like I'm "Todoist follower or adherent" with a karma level and group identity, and Todoist just seems more complex than I would like. Once you really do the TickTick trial, you will know for sure.
I used timeline view during the training course. I marked on the timeline all lectures and homeworks. it was very helpful, because allowed to see when need to start make homework and deadline before next lecture.
It depends on the calendar approach. For me it is useful to have a macro view of the entire month, for example. I can pull events without data from the side for free days. For planning with longer deadlines, it can be very useful.
I'm going to try this! I just started with Tick Tick and was specifically playing with the Kanban view, so this Next 7 Days view looks like something I will probably use a lot.
I don't use the calendar because everything I have to do is in ...More! LOL. I switched my 7-day view to Kanban as soon as it was available, not too long ago. Last year, I saw a video and read a book about Kanban, and was eager to use it. I switched a lot of my lists to Kanban; it's more efficient for me (I also use it with notes). In the 7-day view it's also easier (5:50) to change the date to a near future. Thanks for showing, Nicole
Hi Joshua, just a question, I read on some forums that TickTick is actually a Chinese product. Since China do have a different view on privacy and data protection, I was just wondering if you did some investigation on this data protection and privacy topic?
Something I didn't like in ticktick I imeadtly realize in this kan ban view was that the collumn did not appear, unless if there are some tasks in those 7 days, I mean The collumns should have been there no matter if there was tasks or not so that I could view all 7 days collums and drag and drop, but if I create a task it collumns shows up @JoshuaBest
It might work with a couple events but it basically doesn't work if your calendar had lots of events every day for the last 15 years. It takes _minutes_ to load events older than a couple month ago, randomly stops syncing or is missing events from current week. Sadly, this is a deal breaker for me and i'm cancelling my subscription. I hope they fix performance and reliability issues in the future
I understand... I don't think I would rely on TickTick either to manage 15 years worth of calendar events. That's interesting scenario. Do you know what you will use for this in the future? I would guess that a calendar app like Google Calendar or Outlook might be best?
@@JoshuaBest every ~6-7 years my mac gets old i waste weeks trying to find productivity tools to replace Apple Notes and Calendar and migrate to Windows. This time i managed to move from Apple Notes to Obsidian, but there's not replacement for Apple Calendar on PC. I can smoothly manage and even offline search history of 1/3 of my life. I tried TickTick, Morgen, Outlook, Google Calendar - almost everything on the market. I'm now looking for black friday deals on MacBooks because that's cheapest and easiest option to keep my workflow
Yes, I'm excited for 7.0 also. Although I'm not entirely sure of everything it entails. Is it supposed to be a total overhaul of all apps - web, desktop, and mobile? Or just some enhancements for web?
