I suppose it could be, but I’d suggest going by trial and error and seeing what works for you and the tools and materials you have to work with, my tutorials are designed to inspire. I appreciate that, friend!
I would suggest making a whole Skyrim Glass Set or Stalhrim set of weapons. I mean we all know you can open up a new cosplay RU-vid channel just based on Skyrim weapons and have 10 years worth of contents. And it would make me really happy LOL
Nine months, and I missed this comment, sorry man! Duuuuuude, I DEFINITELY want to make the glass set of armor, all out of casting resin!! Make it super authentic! Also, very true, hahaha. Skyrim's a black hole of content, for sure.
I'm not active on here anymore (and won't be for another handful of years most likely), but I was definitely considering it. It's got so many engravings on it, it wouldn't've really been possible to do it justice with foam, so I would have to 3D print it. I also didn't have a clue how to make a holster for it, though I do now. If I come back, the Ranger Sequoia is definitely on my list.
I really need to update the video descriptions. Hahaha Technically yes I do, they’re on a hard drive, but I don’t have a computer right now so I can’t access them. Sorry about that. Making your own isn’t terribly difficult though. You can get perfect images from the Fallout Wiki and use Paint.NET for your starter software if you don’t want to spend money on something like Adobe Illustrator. It’s a good skill to have too! I recommend reaching yourself to make patterns sooner rather than later. :)
no. not because the hecate 2 is french. its an anti MATERIEL rifle because its supposed to be used agains lightly armored vehicles, military equipment and other sensitive or lightly armored equipment. and "materiel" means "military materials and equipment".
really like the rifle. I'm actually doing a NCR veteran ranger cosplay, and this has really helped me out on getting an idea in my head. you really do an awesome job!
Just curious, if you have a table saw and band saw why not do the grip and stock out of actual wood? Itd give you the rigidity your looking for, wouldnt have to mess with painting it to make it look like wood cause you know... it already is lol Also for the bolt you might try a cheap airsoft gun, hack it up a bit and then build the rest of the gun around it. You might even be able to use the actual trigger too if your crafty about it plus the bolt would actually move for short clips and action scene photos. Just some thoughts lol
Yo, that’s BRILLIANT!! I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. Hahaha Actual wood for the stock would be perfect, I’d just have to figure out how to make it all one solid piece so the foam doesn’t make it all bendy and such. Yeah, and even like, Nerf guns have functioning bolts and triggers. I do actually intend to redo this build at some point, and it’s going to be much improved and actually have the space necessary for a sliding bolt and possibly a moving trigger. Great ideas, man!
This looked very fun to make, I wouldnt mind giving this badass rifle a shot but I dont think I'll be able to carry this thing here in Scotland because the Police cant tell whats real or a fake cosplay. The amount of fake swords the polis (scots slang for police) confiscated during comic con a couple years back made a lot of people at comic con very unhappy.
Thanks! I certainly thought it was. You can probably just paint the muzzle brake a bright orange color, that’s what they do with air soft guns and whatnot to keep people from thinking they’re real firearms. As for swords... I dunno, put together a petition or something? Haha That sucks though, sorry it’s like that.
I took the image of the rifle on the Fallout Wiki (all the pictures of individual items are 2D single-perspective views of the item, meaning it's absolutely perfect for references) and tracing all of the lines in Adobe Illustrator. If you wanna know how I printed it, I divided the full pattern on different pages, each 11x17 inches in dimension. I added dotted lines for where ever cuts and Scotch tape applications needed to be made. I printed them all at an office supply store, cut everything out, taped the pieces together, and voila! Life-size pattern.
@@QuantumLeapCosplay Oh, okay. I getcha. Thank you first of all i appreciate the response! Second i'm not to computer savy but i do have a pc and printer... by chance friend would you still hqve that file of the traced blue print that you could email me? Im con crunchin bad, and could use a helping hand. I hope to make my rifle something that at least ressembles your finished one. Thanks again brotha!
I already replied to this, but it doesn't look like it registered. Thanks, RU-vid. If you see a second reply, don't be surprised. You are not the first to ask me for the pattern. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I am going to make every single pattern I make free for all my viewers to use. I'll probably use either DropBox or Google Drive. Whichever works better for the long run. I really dislike it when cosplayers charge for patterns, they're really not that hard to make if you have the know-how and software to do so, though apparel pieces I can understand. Some of the bigger cosplay RU-vid channels do that, it really annoys me. But to answer your question, sure! I'll be happy to give you the pattern. Just email me using this address: quantumleapcosplay@outlook.com
Thank you thank you! YOU are amazing for being so humble! That inspires me a lot. Stick around! I’m not active right now, but will get back into uploading in the coming years, if not months.
