I agree 1000% on your Pete Rose take. Time served!!!! Too late now....

Hi Darren. The Pete Rose HOF question came up on Mid-Life cards this past week too. Rose will not be going into the Hall anytime soon. Rose broke baseballs golden rule. He knew what would happen to him if he got caught. Rose gambled with bookies which was and is illegal. Just my opinion. I enjoyed your video.

I totally agree with you about Pete Rose. I am bias considering I am from Dayton Ohio and Charlie Hustle was always my favorite player. I just loved how hard he played the game and gave the fans their moneys worth. Buy far the most amazing sporting event I ever attended was his 4192 hit game. My dad won the tickets from his work that day we hauled ass down to Riverfront stadium to witness history . I was 9 years old and it was incredible. It is one of my fondest memories with my Dad.

Hey Darren, Congrats on the new Job! Rose should have been in the Hall years ago, baseball could have said you can’t work in the game but you deserve the Hall or as you said it better the Hall deserves you! As someone who is about to retire I enjoyed hearing your take. I do think I will try to sell some cards, not to make a living but to help fund my hobby and keep me busy. No issue with dealers or friends of dealers getting into shows early, that is just the way life works. I was lucky enough to attend a lot of sporting events through my companies corporate sponsorships, every job has it perks!

Hey Darren, great video. Loved the analogy of the cigarette companies with regard to Pete Rose’s banning. It’s so hypocritical of MLB. This is the same org that knew all the players in the 90s were juicing and they didn’t care because their numbers were skyrocketing. Shame on them. What makes it extra frustrating is they act like they have all the integrity in the world but are currently having meetings and signing contracts with betting companies. Pretty unreal, not sure how they sleep at night.

Great video. Pete deserves to be in the Hall, but if it does happen, it will years from now. I agree 100% on the dealer early access points you made. Some people just have a poor grasp of how the world works and they think everything should be “fair”. Like I tell my kids all the time, life’s not fair, so you better get used to it.

Aaaah good looks on the shout! I have a small but prestigious gang of subs lol! The Pete topic is a shame. He even said "Dont put me in when i die. This is for me. I played the game. I love the game. If i'm dead, too late." He's 1,000,000% a Hall of Famer just not in the hall of fame.

I personally don't think Pete Rose will ever get into the HOF. Yes, there is clearly a double standard for owners and players. But the thing is, the owners make the rules so whatever loopholes the owners need will be created for them but not the players.

Great video. Nice to see you take on controversial issues. Rose is definitely a HOF player. His stats are amazing. But… he didn’t just bet on baseball - as a manager, he bet on his own team. He should be banned - he knew the rules and he broke them. Glad to hear your retirement collecting plans - if you love it, you keep doing it!!

Darren I moved to Fort Collins a few years ago. I’ve been to at least 3 Denver shows and so almost no vintage cards to speak of. Any ideas of vintage card access in our area? Frustrating.

I thought you retired the channel… Pete will not get into the Hall. Zero percent chance. MLB has already made up their mind. The points you bring up are moot, unfortunately. And the card market is garbage and corrupt. How can something that has quantities in the millions be worth anything? Topps prints billions of cards a year. You’re better off taking your money and placing it into a crosscut shredder.

The vast majority of fans do not care, tell it like it is. I found it insulting even as a kid with Giamatti acting like a mob boss and ousting Rose for life a little over 4 months into taking office. On top of the blatant MLB hypocrisy, he passes away around a week later so people walk on eggshells on the subject ever since. It's sad he died, but somebody have some guts and fix the man's mistake. My sure to be unpopular as usual opinion!
