A quick and easy FIRE STARTER 

My GF saves all her dryer lint for me, doesnt cost anything, doesnt weigh anything and goes up in smoke with a spark like lightning. I have zippy bags crushed full of it.😊

Get a stick. Split the end. Stick the little envelope in the stick and you have a nice little torch.

Yep its nice to see someone re hash this fire starter. I sent some like them over to scotty survival about 4 years ago. I called them fire ravioli made with a cotton ball or round makup pad.

If you use Vaseline on the cotton pad, you can also open the pouch up and use the Vaseline impregnated pad as a wound cover as well. Then serves 2 purposes.

you can just use alcohol wipes , 100 for $7 , open them up , unfold the wipe , crumple into a ball , light , burns for about 4 minutes

I can't say that watching fire starter burn is riveting entertainment, but i do appreciate the video. Was not aware of this idea.

If I do this I think I'd put doubled over tabs at the ends of the ducktape so I could easily reopen it in case I needed to get at the cotton round inside to light it with a fero rod.

Interesting. There's room for experimenting here. Magnesium blocks, those shavings blow away if you have even a slight breeze, why not put them on the sticky side of the tape along with your PJ on the cotton? Would the cotton be better if it was soaked in candle wax instead of PJ? Would a feminine hygiene product instead of the cotton have more of a candle effect and last longer if only lit at one end? Good stuff!!!

Nice fire starters. I only have some cotton rounds & 2 “ gorilla tape, so as I was watching this I was thinking 🤔 slime the cotton & roll them up & stick length way down some duct tape. That should give it enough tape to seal the edges. I used to make the slimed cotton ball in a straw but plastic straw’s are getting really hard to find so this is a great replacement. 🇨🇦🔥

Wow, good ignition with s ferro. Question not criticism: shouldn't the valentine impregnate the cotton not sandwich it? Also for six minutes, can they boil water I wonder if not a double vaseline pad in one wrap? 😮

Great idea but if it was windy do they still burn well?

What about using something other than duct tape that isn't some level of toxic? I mean in a survival scenario obviously go for it but these could be wrapped in wax paper or something similar like foil and removed from the package and the foil could be wiped clean or turned over and used to boil water in as make shift cup/bowl. Just my two cents.

I am curious... couldn't you just use the duct tape by itself? It burned on it's own without the cotton ball and would be so much quicker to prep. Does the cotton ball add a lot to the equation?

Fire Starter ? Considering the time & materials required; that's more of a Ration Heater !

You could use just the Duct Tape.

You could do that with dried tea bags with a little kerosene in them.
