A Quick Look at Megaman Battle Chip Challenge - Pt 2 

I love how this game is the one game where Dex and Mayl are badass all throughout. I wish they had done so more in the games like they did in the anime. That's one thing I liked in the anime, while GutsMan and Roll weren't as powerful as MegaMan and ProtoMan, they were still strong in their own rights and they had their share of episodes where they could show off.

I realize this video is a few years old, but I found some info on those five chips you couldn't get (I haven't played the game myself, so I only have research information to work from). The HubStyle chip is from a particular code you can put in. Remember how MMBN4 had 2 codes for Lan? The one found in NAXA was for HubStyle: 5(star)4H-B81R-(star)KKZ-P15X-ZS5B-(club)XK0 The Element-Type style chips are from the 128 tournament, with a 50% chance of one of the four dropping (meaning a 1/8 chance of getting a particular one). Not entirely sure if the RNG has any preferences on what likes to drop, though. Also, "She has a bit of a heart condition." Considering the track record for heart conditions in the Battle Network series, Mary is destined to become a God of netbattling. Eventually.

I'm disappointed you didn't mention Higsby's AWESOME HAIR Regarding the computers getting better slot ins, I left a comment on your first video regarding why that is like that and that you can do that too. I also believe that some Navi's have higher dodge chances than others, Ring and SharkMan in particular

Also, it's pretty cool that MegaMan actually has his own Navi chip in this game. Granted, it's the kind of thing that probably wouldn't work in the other games, but the idea's pretty cool. Hmm... since you did a look at Battle Chip Challenge, I was wondering if you were going to do one for the Wonderswan Rockman.EXE game as well. Sorry if I already asked, I couldn't remember if I got a reply on that last time.

this does look like a cool game that I may try and get my hand on. as for this quick look the one thing I wish you had done was show your more complete files deck, but other than that it was a fun watch

I'm kinda sad that we didn't get to have Turboman.exe and Ring... Ringwoman.exe? (Or should I say Ring.exe?) didn't get to be a cast of the regular battle network games. It would have been interesting to have them in some of the games. I would imagine if Capcom didn't put in Chargeman.exe, I could imagine Kai would appear with Turboman.exe and we can get Turbocross. Or for Ring.exe it would be in Battle Network 4, which would make a great scenario. I could imagine if Roll was out of the picture and we can get Ringsoul.

Nice job showing off BCC, Roahm. Yeah, the style change navi chips are the five you're missing and you can only get them by doing tournament battles with other people whose game codes you've entered in, so it's sort of the equivalent of the secret chip multiplayer prizes from the second and third games. There's a fairly easy means of generating said codes to battle opponents with fairly easy to beat program decks, but sadly the chip only appears as a prize after winning X no. of tourneys.

I love how you mention that there are no independent Navi's as you scroll past Freezeman. I know Sean operates him in this game, but some people probably don't know that, and got confused by that moment. XD

You should do just some Random Battle with different Navi's just to show what they all can do (like Bass, BassGS and so on) you're right the story wouldn't be that great but I think some random battles would be really fun to watch.

Fighting Ring in anyone else's story is a PAIN since not only does RingRang cause massive damage, but she always carries Jealousy in her slot in, which gets rid of your slot in chips

It always felt like holding up or down influenced what the direction of the program path, and I know for a fact that slotting in closer to when it would actually be used drastically increases the odds of it working... I got suspicious when computer players would almost never fail it on less than 30% so I tried it myself and it really seemed to be the case

You may have lost, but you really made GutsMan *work* for his victory.

Another quick thing worth noting, along the lines of hitting B to speed the battle up, if you hold A during the little opening cinematic of the navis showing their attack animation, it goes a LOT faster. Good for when you're playing a long time. Speaking of which, has anyone ever gotten through all of the final open battle? I got to like 98 battles and my GBA shut off :(

To get Hubstyle, you have to input a certain code to register a "friend" to defeat in a custom tournament. Even then, you have a small chance of getting the navi chip what with all of the chips in the deck of that operator.

I wanted to play this game for so long but when i tried it i could never really figure it out i guess because i always sicked the tutorial and etc haha but thanks roahm no I think i can finally play the game since you demonstrated it and explained how it worked in an entertaining way

The hardest Navi in this game for me was always Flash Man. Granted I didn't really know how to change my strategy to fight him back then. I also honestly wouldn't mind watching a full LP of this =P

To get the elemental styles for Megaman, you need to enter the custom tournament for 128 combatants, and win. Out of 16 chips as first place prizes, 4 of them happen to be the styles. Have fun, I haven't gotten them yet, I keep getting put off by making dummy operators to register...

I like Ring's design. It reminds me of disco and candy. And disco candy.

I might have to try that. The Grass Stage has low HP, can easily be turned against you, and if you lose both chips, you can't use the Spices period. So just load him up with Magbombs?

RoahmMythril, among all the Tournament Ranks & Open Battles moments, which navis did you have the most struggle against and find the hardest/annoying? Example like Ice Man dodging almost every single attack and even Skull Man with CurseShield 3.

Basically, you can also use ZapRing3s or ElecSwords to do more damage and you can of course also boost the damage with an Aluminium Stage or Elec+40/Atk+30

It looks pretty automated. It looks like it has some degree of strategy, but not enough to make me interested in playing it, though I do like Ring and TurboMan. Reminds me of the 3DS StreetQuest or whatever it was called actually.

just want to say, i like the bridge duel thing they have going with the battles.

If somehow you managed to get DS emleater or DS recording software I would not mind watching 2 screens at the same time. I really want you to be able to LP Megaman Starforce but you would probably be tired out after the Battle Network series... but if not i will always watch your projects!

Considering a lot of people bring that up because Roahm doesn't approve of the intrusive story, don't blame me for believing you were part of the bandwagon. By the way, I must stress that it is intrusive story, because most happens when you finish the game, and if you want proof that X5's writing is inconsistent, fight with Mattrex, X goes "why must reploids fight each other, but with with Axle the Red, X goes "if fighting you's the easiest way to get the engine, then bring it!"

Holding a Japanese guidebook in my hands... Hub Batch can only be registered through inputting a code. The other styles' chips are obtained from Tournament 128. Chip HP damage system works like this: some chips (like Shotgun) hit currently selected chip, some chips (like Minibomb) hit all equipped chips and some chips (like Sword) hit a random one from equipped ones. Program Deck route choice for those wondering is also absolutely random making this game much more boring than it is.

I went back to this game a few days ago, it is a little fun and trying to use Elctman, I tell you this game is NOT random! I used save states and it always ALWAYS without fail picked the same roll of chips, and the chips which SHOULD BE random, aren't! It feels as if they removed any sign of RNG for this game. Thunderman was a real pain, but after using Woodman he went down without so much as 1% of effort. XD Flameman tho? Jesus, I need a water navi. >_> It's fun but really annoying starting off, guess after I beat the Yumland open battle I should infest in getting as many new chips as I can.

Elecman is god too, with Magbombs you can easily destroy your opponents deck and stun the enemy navi and those chips are cheaper then the Tree Bombs and don't require a field like spice.

@wristrocketshot : I think when you eventually get him, the operator does make some joke about NormNavi Zero.

Ringman hate children, Ring.exe's operator is a child, Ringman is not amused.

I've never even heard of this game until now. I gotta say though, it looks fun for the strategy and collecting parts. Too bad you're so limited in what you can do after the cards (Chips?) have been dealt. Maybe if the panel set up was like the other BN games and you could dodge, it'd be more involving.

I beat this game 100% and it was really boring. Especially when you get Woodman. Grass Stage, Spices, and Tree Bombs DESTROYS the enemy's program decks. Of course, your game plan has to change against Fire Navis, but seriously, Woodman is god in this game; I used him through that 100 battle Undernet circuit, and just breezed by it and I was... bored. Glad you showed the game a bit, Roahm, this is SO much more entertaining than an entire LP would be.

This game has always been strange to me, like the idea of a MMBN games with just battles is not bad, but the automated battles kinda take the fun out of what the battle system was in all the other MMBN games.

I know you won't but I'm gonna ask anyways. Are you going to show off all the end turn navi abilities?

I remember the set up I used for this game was Woodman and pretty much all the slots filled with tree bombs. Ate through decks like no ones business. And oh dear what you had to do to fight Bass. 100 battle rush with special navis at 10 intervals. Kid in me did it.

I think he's referring to the normal Battle Network games.

*Sigh* Even though I love the Battle Network series, I never enjoyed this one. I'm not saying it's a bad game, it's just that it felt too repetitive. So I never finished it.

I play the X series all the time, honestly. I was poking fun at the specific moments when he whines, not the entire series or the character as a whole. So, I know that he doesn't whine constantly. Its still enough to get annoying after a while, though. And yes, I'm aware of X7, which is one of the worst games in the Mega Man franchise at least in my opinion. And if you want proof that I play the series, my icon should be enough.

Cough, have you even played Mega Man X? Last I check, the only time the so-called whining occurs is during the endings, which is just text no one cares about, a little bit in X5, and only very early in X8 and it's for a mere brief moment. You are thinking of X7, which is universally loathed by fans of the series because it gets the character wrong. The whining is from inconsistent writing trying to make a deeper character out of him, but failing miserably, not the character itself.
