I opened this deck to fix a fault, which frustratingly disappeared. Thought you might like a quick look inside whilst I had the back off...
Apologies for the dodgy hand held camerawork.. Focus you ....
Hmm, thinking about it I think the power supply stuff is largely on the same board as the transport control - the vertical board, rather than the board at the bottom of the deck which I mentioned..

Recently picked up a silver face X1000-R that I'm restoring (waiting on a capstan belt at the moment). I love those black ones. My X1000-R has the four different voltages selectable by jumper as well.

If tapping is resolving the issue, it means there's a bad solder point and/ or the PCB print is fractured/ lifted at the solder point. Re-solder everything in questionable region and continuity test on the traces. Easy fix.

Thanks for an interesting video. I have a TEAC 3300 4track standard version. It is very noisy, a lot of hiss in stop and play mode. Is there anything that can be replaced or serviced in order to decrease the hiss. Any help is truly appreciated. Thanks. Pontus in Kalmar Sweden

I think I'd be hitting it up with a soldering iron and be checking the electrolytics with an ESR meter and replace if necessary.
