@Mu*Shu TeeVee Except if I have been kidnapped and they are giving me a ride to their hideout and keeping me for ransom. Thankfully that hasn’t happened yet.
At the 22:09 mark where you show the elementary school, if you were to continue going straight, you would have run right into the Madison County Fairgrounds. At the back of the Fairgrounds property is Highland Speedway, where we race most Saturday nights from late March to mid September.
Hi! We just watched this. We thought you did a great job. We are transplants and bought one of the older places here. It's part of the Schott brewing family. I shot some video the day we closed on the house. 15 min video includes footage of the Scott cavern under the house. I'd be happy to share it with you if you are interested. 😊
Destroying the algorithm. 😁 I won’t hold it against you if you don’t show me the lake. I’m not from here anyway. My home town of Mount Carroll Illinois has no lake that I know of. I now live in Rockford, which has Lake Pierce.
@@glennso47 - I walked from Desendorf Hall (dorm) at the far south end of the campus to the DQ on Clay St. because the campus food sucked, LOL! -- I can still taste the Brazier Cheeseburger... and the pizza at Sieverts... and Poffy's (Charlie's now) beer...
@@glennso47 - LOL, I have no clue, being a resident of the NW Chicago suburbs my entire life. My Sis, bro-in-law, and myself are definitely looking to relocate to Southern IL, where at least (in IL) the laws favor women, health care, and equality. I had to talk my sister out of MS or TN, where health care is considered optional, as is food.
@@lilsuzq32 Welcome to southern Illinois! I live in Decatur (well... Oreana) and there are many great reasons to live in central/southern Illinois. I live in a NICE recently-remodeled four bed three (full) bath home on 1/2 acre in a great neighborhood. You can get a home like that for well under 200k with property taxes well under 3k/year! Our downtown Decatur has been completely revitalized and offers great restaurants/breweries/shopping, etc. I'm 40 minutes from Champaign/Urbana with all of it's great restaurants and cultural attractions. Wer're less than an hour from Springfield and Bloomington/Normal as well. We have plenty of outdoor activities around here. My wife and I are pursuing the goal of walking every trail in every county and state park in the area. I will say that, Decatur is as far south you can go in Illinois (outside of the St Louis metro area)) before things get terribly racist. All of these cities with bad reputations have great places and areas in which to live and enjoy yourselves. My biggest caveat is schools. I moved OUT of Decatur to keep my kids out of their schools. Glad I did. I wouldn't want my kids to go to any of the larger cities school systems.
@@rmacster - I hear you on the racist bit. How are the snowfall and winter temps in Decatur? I would imagine that it's less snow and a bit warmer than in the NW Chicago burbs where I am now.
