A QUIET PLACE - First 10 Minutes From The Movie (2018) 

That scene when he loses their child blew me away. It's usually the trope that child survives and everyone lives. When they lose, I was hooked. This is a solid film.

For those who says that these actors have it easier to act cause they dont have to learn texts... They had to learn Sign-Language instead!

The moment Evelyn falls to the ground because she knows her baby can’t be saved breaks my heart....

I love the tragedy of this opening for so many reasons. It makes sense that the youngest dies because kids don’t understand consequences when they’re that young. A couple of months being quiet is not enough for a 4yr old to adjust. He’s at the back because they have another kid that’s sick and they want him home as quickly as possible because what if he has a coughing fit or his condition gets worse? Beau is the slowest walker because he has small legs. Regan feels bad for him feeling trapped and gives him the rocket without batteries because he said he wanted one so the family could “get away”. As a deaf person she has less of an idea what causes sounds. She might think her parents would hear him trying to put the batteries in if he did grab them. There’s so many reasons for why the death happened the way it did. It’s heartbreaking because it could have been prevented but also because it’s how most people would have acted in that situation.

Blunts acting here sells it. Total helplessness, and loss. Just utterly defeated as she turns around, silently gasps, and falls to her knees she knows nothing can be done. The subtleness and change in emotion from disbelief, to horror and then just giving up. Crazy.

I didn’t think John K. would make a good actor for this movie, a thriller, based on the fact that I just picture him from The Office all those years, a comedy, but I was clearly wrong. He does a great job.

Fun fact: The child actor who plays Regan is also deaf in real life O.O She did such a fantastic job :) Edit: also, she’s just as amazing in the second one!

You get so attached to the little one so fast, then hes stripped away violently. This movie was very, very good.

Its clear that beau knows to keep quiet since he used sign language and knows that there are monsters out there. But he’s still a kid and kids make mistakes which of course leads to beau’s death.

Film teachers should use this clip as an example for building tension, because wow!

this was such a unique way to show how the plot and universe works in this! instead of someone explaining it or having it be when it starts, it literally shows the effects of what happens when you make a sound. completely terrifying

One of the all time great opening deaths to a horror movie. The family's reactions just complete it. Having to watch an inevitable tragedy but not be able to react like people would in a world where screams doesn't get you killed.

I've watched this over and over again. I'd say it's the best opening to any movie I've ever seen.

My question is how did the little kid put in the batteries the correct way Sometimes I can’t put in the batteries facing the right way

As the youngest I know damn well that you should never leave us at the end cause something can happen, don’t be nice to use when we’re little if we want something, and seriously don’t leave us with a toy that makes noise.

Bad parenting, who lets a child cover the rear even when there is no danger around. One parent up front and one in back, kids in the middle. Writers should have done it differently.

It's amazing how to think all of the things that would make you not have shoes on your feet: not enough money to buy a pair, physical health problems, stolen shoes but never in your wildest dreams that it would be because of a man eating alien sensitive to sound landing on your planet! There are seven ways I think the child's death could have been prevented. 1. His sister chooses not to give him the toy. 2. The boy listened to his dad. 3. The mum or dad took his hand and took him out of the shop. 4. The dad impulsively turns around and runs for his son instead of slowly turning around. 5. The girl takes the batteries so that the boy can't turn the toy on. 6. JUST DON'T TURN THE TOY ON AT ALL! This boy has been alive long enough to know that making a noise kills him. 7. If just ONE of the family members looked back.

Why not just stay within like a half mile radius of a loud ass siren?

The moment I heard the toy’s noise, my heart sank

I remember watching this movie with a few of my friends. Me and one of my friends had already seen the movie but my other friends had not seen it yet so when we decided to watch it. When the scene where the little boy gets snatched came up my friend who had already watched the movie yelled YEET and everyone was laughing so hard. And now everytime I watch that scene where he gets killed I cant help but laugh.

They could well talk in whispers given the movie’s premise that the monsters can’t hear the dull sounds they are already producing.

Immediately you know that this movie is not about the monsters but about the family

This scene is everything ... Imagine yourself watch your kids die.

Why would you leave your youngest child at the back so far behind if you’re potentially in danger? He would be walking between the mother and father. Makes no sense!
