Look, Robert Kirkman wanted to tell a story about people treating zombies like it was just another natural disaster, like a flood or earthquake. If you wanted "Night of the living dead", then every other zombie series will satisfy you pretty well.

@@FinalStigma "Days Gone Bye' was the best "zombie movie' ever made,surpassing all but the original "Dawn of the Dead". We also missed the story of the Soldier in the tank that Rick was trapped in.That would have given even more of a peek at societal disintegration. Never saw the comics prior to the series and have only read the first compendium but Kirkman did take a unique slant on the 'zombie" story.

Agreed😂 But I mean in her defense, they're discovering the idea of what a zombie is in real time, they got no clue whats going on. So if we put ourselves in her shoes, esencially what was happening was that there is this random woman saying she knows exactly whats going on. Not because she identified herself as a doctor or gave you any specifics. She just ~knows~. And under your time of stress and panic, with your husband dying of you dont know what, you're supposed to trust this rando who is telling you "leave him he's dead" even tho to you he isnt dead yet, he is just sick with something you dont understand and you are willing to do anything to keep him alive. 🤷🏽‍♀️ But she was dumb to open the bathroom door again after they had just got him in cause he was attacking people 🙄😂

The best part about zombie movies is during the initial parts of the outbreak, like this short show. It gives me the chills to see how everything in society quickly unfolds into chaos. PSA: I'm impressed with the girl's intelligence and how she was ahead of time. She knew the precautions right away.

This is very true. Their qualification needed in firearms is ridiculous. I’m an avid shooter and a pretty damn good shot myself, but would have a lot of trouble qualifying in an air marshal shoot. RU-vid air marshal firearms qualifying to check out what they have to do.

I could believe it if the weakness was a VERY specific small point somewhere in the body that you have to know of and be really accurate to hit or do it by pure luck. But the head? Like c'mon, thorax and head are the two points where you aim when you want to put someone down. For example, in "Battle: Los Angeles" the aliens at first seemed invincible, keeping on fighting regardless of how many holes the marines put on them. Until they actually capture one alive and dissect it, finding that they have a weak spot at the left of where a human heart would be. From that point on, all the characters start aiming there. And those aliens actually had better tech than the humans, used tactics and shooted back. You can't tell me that the same trained military can't nail a headshot in a slow walking corpse.

The best zombie stories are always during the beginning of it. The problem with so many movies/shows/books is that they always make it happen a while into the event. FTWD was at its best in that first season imo. There's just something about the beginning of these things and the gradual fall of civilization. I'd love to see a show that is basically the beginning of the zombie apocalypse but kinda done like the show 24.

Well this and that sub as seen in Dead in the Water. There were 155 people on that and only 8 made it out alive. In this case, Alex, Jake and a few others survived the initial crash but Alex was ultimately the only known survivor

The thing is, once the aircraft descended below 10,000 feet the hypoxia (lack of oxygen) would no longer be a problem. The crew would recover and regain control of the aircraft. It would not crash.

My problem with the "crashed planes are just part of the landscape" aspect of zombie stuff is that they just... wouldn't be. At all. People dying on planes isn't exactly a common event, so it's not exactly likely that a Walker would just randomly show up suddenly on a plane. Even if it did, and even if it somehow killed everybody else on the plane, they STILL wouldn't be able to cause a crash, because to do so they would have to reach the pilot. And after 9/11, the doors to the cockpit are extremely heavily secured specificly to ensure that hijackers can't force their way in. Unless the plane had a mid-air collision, or the pilot heard about what was going on on the ground and just kept flying until out of fuel and fucked up getting the plane down, it's kind of unlikely that you'd see many plane wrecks just lying around. At airports there would almost certainly be accidents and crashes, but not very likely in the air.

I agree, well i do like post apocalyptic series my favourite parts are the events that lead up to that point. That’s why i really like the first season of FTWD because it gives us a glimpse into the initial outbreak which was never really explored in the main series.

In TWD people can’t run away or kill slow ass walking corpses that in reality wouldn’t cause a problem army would destroy them. The initial outbreak is so much more interesting. Though in zombie apocalypse scenarios, ive always been more interested in the rebuilding of civilization in a world with new rules, than the interpersonal drama. If TWD had stopped the "we made a safe place! Oh no, bad guys ruined it, time for revenge!" And instead went on to follow the formation of city states and new nations rising up in the aftermath, with walkers becoming weapons/environmental hazards, i would have been so down. The never committed to that though. It was always small scale settlements. Never city state level stuff with standing armies and political intrigue.

TLOU is 20 years post collapse, the first half hour of the game is a tutorial that set up Joel and Tommy's relationship and backstories. It was good but ultimately just well executed exposition, wasn't even fun to play. The whole story is about Joel accepting his role as a father to Ellie against the backdrop of a changed world. And if you're taking about the show, it sucked compared to the game

This is the best part about post apocalyptic shows. To see the first few days when everything was somehow normal and the first cases started being reported, the news progressively announcing the increase in the number of infected and deceased, the panic in the streets, the people escaping from chaos, the military authorities being surpassed by the virus threat, the supermarkets and drugstores being completely emptied, the medical community desperately working to develop a vaccine or find some sort of cure to the disease etc. The previous and ongoing moments of the emergency are the most interesting ones, the survival is the one which becomes boring, tedious and monotone.

The wife was a Karen, and like all Karens, is the epitome of "entitled" and never listens to those of whom know better. Not to mention, she knew her husband had been previously bitten and tried to play his nausea off as reflux, knowing his being bitten was "bad," thus, putting everyone's lives in danger on the plane. Not to mention, again, she could have told her husband she loved him through the bathroom door as airplane bathroom doors are ultra thin plastic.

If she truly thought the bite was not bad at all, had no stigma attached to it, she would simply have said he was suffering from a bite. So yeah, she knew the bite was bad news and she's a Karen.

Guys keep in mind the reason why these people are acting so stupid in the situation is because in The Walking Dead universe the concept of what a zombie is doesn’t exist, not in movies, shows, none of that. This is all completely new to them. It’s the same as if one day some random hostile creature came out of nowhere and started killing us all, ofc we wouldn’t know what to do, and we would more than likely react the exact same way these peeps did. Think about it, did we even know what a zombie was before the first movie about them came out OR before the first time you’ve actually seen a zombie show/movie in your life? Did you even have any recollection of what was even going on or what to do in that situation? No. And that’s what’s going on here.

Yes. Also there are clues in canon TWD universe that power took days to be shut down in some areas. Society probably collapsed in a matter of weeks. Having the power down a few hours after commercial planes has taken off in fairly normal conditions isn't credible. That's what always bugged me in this scene.

If only they kept that Walker in the bathroom. Considering in the show that plane was still in the air by the next morning, had they kept the Walker contained, they probably could’ve landed back at LAX once the sun came up. @@chetarmlin1196 first 3 seasons of Fear the walking dead were really good , it takes a few episodes to get into it but in the first couple of episodes of season 4 they killed off important characters from season 1-3 and started a completely different story, which ruined it and now it’s really slow and boring. You might like it though but I doubt it 😂

Just once I want to see a zombie show/movie were the world remembers we've watched decades of zombie movies and instantly realizes what is going on. My 7 year old nephew was watching a zombie show with me and he asked "why don't they know what zombies are?". I had to explain that in movies/shows the concept of zombies seems to never exist or they deny it even though all the signs are there. When a 7 year old instantly knows what is happening it is time to change the "characters have to be completely clueless" writing style.

The 13th century Norse mythology about zombies doesn't exist? Even the 1818 Frankenstein's monster could be considered a zombie.
