To be fair, at least compared to the early 2000s, movie tie-in games usually tend to happens quite a few years AFTER the movie has been released, giving potential developers enough time to figure out how to make their game without just half-assing it.

But it's not quite directly tied to the previous movies as the characters in this game are standalone. The true movie-tied games consist the same characters, setting, and storyline based on the movie (although there might be several minor changes for the scene to make it appropriate for the gameplay). The PS2 games like Spider-Man, X-Men Origins Wolverine, James Cameron's King-Kong, etc. is what the true movie-tied games actually are.

As long as they’re fun & not some generic cash-grab. Over the Hedge though was a super fun co-op action adventure game.

Dead by daylight using all the classic Horror films likeness. then Friday the 13th game. then Texas chainsaw game. and now Killer clowns from outerspace all used the same multiplayer gameplay loop....so his comment is legit as this game is going the Alien Isolation route with a single player horror game from a Movie Franchise.

Well, Alien Isolation never had official VR support but the community got it working, and that was ~7 years ago during the early days of the CV1. So I'm confident someone will get this working in VR quickly too.

⁠@@RyneLandersit kind of had an official VR support built in, but the devs decided to not publish it for whatever reason. So what the MotherVR mod did was actually only activating the official VR mode. If this one is not an unreal engine game, it will be hard to create a proper unofficial VR mode.

@@ExtremCoxer there was no official VR support that got anywhere near finished. As someone who played the game in VR, it definitely wasn't a simple "activate the hidden official toggle" like you're making it out to be. The early VR work was exploratory and highly incomplete. There were size scaling issues in the game, no movement considerations like teleport or snap turning, no hand tracking or interaction like modern VR games, issues with the UX (e.g. every time you access a computer or save point machine, the camera moves into the machine, which in VR literally forces your head into them), etc. etc. Give credit to the modder for getting as far as he did, because it wasn't a simple task, and give credit to people who played a lot of the campaign in VR because it wasn't a smooth experience.
