Seeing Mav come to your state, and then fish at your fishing spots is surreal.

Your "Eggs Purgatory" is basically "Shakshouka", which is an Algerian/Moroccan/Libyan etc., dish - it's amazing!

He loved your videos when I showed them to him and we even watched a couple together before he left us, so it's only right to keep watching you to honor both of you. If you're ever in my neck of the woods, I owe you a handshake. Edit: Thank you all for the kind words. My grandfather meant the world to me with how he raised me after I was born. He was just as instrumental in my upbringing as my parents were and it devastated me when I lost him. At least I got to spend time watching great videos before he left us. Cherish who you have, folks. You never know when they'll be gone.

You have said your getting a little tired of traveling. Your fun to watch and whatever you decide to do, projects on your home etc. I'm sure people will still watch you. It's not just places you go to we like to watch, it's you we like to watch.

Just a heads up on some cooking tips! Gralic is better as an ingredient later than first, add it about 1min prior to adding the tomatos because diced garlic will over cook fast in just 30s-1min. Also you may find your food tasting rather metallic after you cook tomatoes in cast iron. Thats because the tomatoes and heat will break down the seasoning on the pan.

Someone said this a long time ago and it still rings true. You eat better in your vehicle than most of us do in our houses. Keep on Truckin’

The uintas is a crazy place. You can never predict the weather and the storms come in and out like nothing. Camp at mirror lake at 10,000 feet and it’s 40° and raining mid august. What a time!

If you like this, there's also Shakshuka, which is a Middle Eastern version of the dish, and Huevos Rancheros, which is obviously Latino. I absolutely love Shakshuka, which uses a lot more spice.

Hi Mav! I keep a roll of tin foil in my truck and it comes in handy for making a quick not so melty lid 👍

You do NOT hold a carbon rod in a thunderstorm mav, you lay it flat on the ground a fair bit away from where you are sitting since carbon is one of the best conductors we have in this world, exept that good stuff as usual:)

Note to self… when hiking in to fish and weather looks sketchy, bring a couple of items. Fire making kit, tarp with guide lines and stakes, something warm. Skillet.

Hey Mav, be careful with tomatoes in cast iron. Long cooks or storage of tomato in cast iron can leach the iron into the sauce

Hey Mav, little tip for you for next time you bust out the fly rod. If you're nymphing, get yourself some indicators (fly fisherman's bobber). The goal is too have the nymph suspended 1-2ft off the bottom. When shore fishing on lakes, or from a boat, I like to do a small but quick retrieve with roughly 10-20 seconds of pause in between. Chironomid and balanced leech patterns are always a good choice but even that prince nymph you had on in the video is solid. Hope this brings you success next time you get out, safe travels!

Try this version of eggs purgatory. (“Uova al Purgatorio” here in Italy) Heat the oil with a whole garlic clove Cook an onion until golden brown Add 400 g of passata + 2 diced fresh tomatoes and clock for 5min Than remove the garlic clove and add 4 eggs. Cook until the eggs are done Enjoy

We made eggs in purgatory a few weeks ago using all ingredients from our garden (minus the eggs). It was fantastic! I'd suggest simmering the sauce before adding the eggs and cover for about 5 minutes until the eggs whiten. We also added the basil earlier to simmer it with the sauce!

I love watching your channel. Been a fan of it for awhile. Wish I did stuff like this more often because I love camping. I love Steve Wallis with Stealth Camping too. Would love to go camping with him sometime. A lot has happened in my life not long ago, and I deal with depression, mixed with other mental health disorders. But after losing my SoulDog of almost 13yrs, and then my Mom 3 months later. I have fallen into the deepest, darkness, pit of depression. So much so, that I cannot live without my Mom. She was my rock, and I was hers. I never got to say goodbye because the same month she passed, I tried to commit suicide. Cops found me hanging from a tree, and and the only regret I have is worrying my Mom. But what I’m getting at is. Your content is enjoyable to watch, along with Steve. You 2 seem like great guys do go camping with. I’m sure it would never happen, but you do somewhat help me stay out of my own head. So for that, thank you.

I remember you asking your viewers about places they would suggest. I recently watched a documentary on Haida Gwai which is located in theQueen Charlotte Islands of Canada, just off the coastline of BC, Canada. Haida Gwai is the home of the Haida people (Indigenous/ first nation tribe). It is home to more than 200 bird species, half of BC sea lion population, and the most diverse marine sea life in Canada. The population is only 4,500 people, 70% of the indigeneous live in 2 communities at Skidgate and Old Massett with a population of 700 in each. It has one of the largest subspecies of black bears known as the Ursus americanus carlottae. They trive on a diet of crabs in the summer and salmon in the fall and winter months. The Haida people are known for their totem poles and some of the best and well known totem poles carvers come from this area. You can travel by air and by ferry which will take you almost 8 hours to get there. I think this is a place that is right up your alley. It is isolated and a haven for an outdoorsman like yourself.

When the 4x4 on my F150 quit working, it was a pneumatic solenoid in the engine compartment. It’s on the driver’s side of the firewall. Common failure, and only takes a minute to replace it.

Probably just your hub lockers. They are vacuum operated and fail often. I recommend a conversion, replace them with manual lockers. Also that squeaking in the front end is either ball joints or tie rod ends with no grease which will cause premature wear. Make sure they have no excessive play and grease them.
