Glad to see you using all the proper PPE. In my day I've seen more hand and eye injuries form angle grinders than I care to remember. I sure wish I had about 4 people just like you when I owned my own contracting business. You are defiantly earning your Ph.D. in getting shit done.

Please be careful with those cutting disks, they’re not called death wheels for nothing. I personally use the Dimond edged steel wheels, they last a lot longer, reduce the mess and don’t shatter. They seem expensive but given how long they last I’ve found them to be cheaper and safer.
@davidmurphy1653
@davidmurphy1653 Месяц назад
Diamond wheels are not designed to cut that much metal mainly concrete rebar.
@michaelmilbrandt1051
@michaelmilbrandt1051 Месяц назад
I was instructed that diamond wheels are meant to be used on stone or ceramic not steel as the carbon of the diamond gets transferred to the steel making it harder and the diamond degrades faster . Aluminum oxide ceramic wheels best to cut steel , there is face grinding wheels to smooth out the ridges you are left with that throws sparks to the side you choose . Yes Jasmine exudes a happy soul ! Thank you dear for the joyous video ❣️

You definitely had your dance moves on chicky and i dont blame ya 🤙 with your plasma just muck around with it a bit and you'll get the hang of it. Adjust your psi and amps to suit the gauge of the metal and try to keep the tip square to the surface your cutting and try to not let the cutting tip touch the metal that's if it doesn't have resting legs on it. As for the earth I've always just hit the suface were i want to put the earth with the plasma flame for a few seconds first. With your welds up top maybe just some cold gal over the welds so they don't flash over with surface rust. With your floor inside to save yourself a heap of time and effort when you go to close the gap up there's no reason to weld from one end to the other, just tac them all in place every few inches the just stitch the metal down with about 2 to 3 inches long and about 200mm apart from each other then grab yourself a tin of seam sealer and a paint brush and brush it on from one end to the other. It with seal it up no worries and you can use it on you roof as well. Its for sealing up metal joins on car body metal. I use KH Seam Sealer. Them sheets you have the possibilities are endless. Carport roof, roof if you ever build a deck off the side, just fit a glass sliding door and you can walk straight out of and you can sit under rain,hail or shine. Hey just a little tip lol is you are ever trying to move something heavy or awkward and you can feel its gonna fall or drop in just let it go, its not worth breaking your back or hurting yourself 😊 sry for the long winded comment its just I've been renovating, modifying and building since i was a young bloke and now at my house for 17yrs so definitely learnt the hard and easy way 🤦‍♂️anyway happy building and most of all dont make it a chore and you'll have way more up's than down's. Lee🤙🙂

Great videos by the way. love seeing that people are still willing to have a go at things for themselves. Maybe with a basic wooden frame you could use the steel sheets as the walls and skillion roof for a wood shed. Another option is to trade it at a scrap yard for steel that you could use for a priority project. That way the steel you removed is still used. Hope this helps.

Depending on what type of fireplace you're going to have, if it's a combustion wood heater, you could have it downstairs and run the flue up and through your upstairs bedroom. That saves on having two seperate heaters. All the heat comes from the flue. One major problem with cargo container homes is condensation, you'll need insulation, an air-flow gap between the insulation and wall and vents.

Love what you're doing. Can I offer 1 safety tip from a old carpenter (me) ... when using a Step Ladder, if you are working/pushing while facing the side, they become unstable and can kick out on you. Because you are far from humans that could be very bad. They make "Support legs" that clamp on and give the ladder more LATERAL footing and are fairly inexpensive. Or, just being mindful to face the ladder in the direction you will be pushing/applying pressure, if that isn't possible, fashion an ad hoc brace to prevent tipping to the side. I personally used saw horses I made as work platforms vs. step ladders bc of kick out... I understand the need that step ladders fill. I too would get into a "work zone" of high energy and focus and have had several ( more than several) bad experiences with step ladders when work target was to the side, it wasnt falling the 5 feet that hurt, it was the shit i fell into that hurt :( BTW, your hot tub is awesome!

Have you considered a solar electric fence for your garden? I use them here in rural Montana to keep the deer and bunnies out of the garden. Not harmful, just a spicy tickle if they touch it. Love the progress in the interior. Just do me a small favor and put those lovely long locks in a bun when using the grinder. I worked in a cnc and fab shop for three decades and I've seen what they can do if they catch a small piece of hair. Nasty business. Give Boss Lady a nice worm for me and looking forward to the next installment.

Plasma cutters need a very strong power supply, like really good. So do compressors. You need them run back to the power source on separate cables. Check the current ratings on the plasma and compressor and make sure your supply can handle it.

Knowing that you'll get narked about rain making a constant noise on your roof, i'm interested to see what you will do about that considering the roof will not take as much weight as it did before you took the insides out. Hope you are well Now I'm gonna watch your vid At 14 mins or so in your eyes showed total glee as your thought bubbles of sleeping somewhere spacious instead of a caravan kept popping out of your mind. When the Chicken came towards the Camera I so wanted her to push the off button at the end of your vid. I liked what you did with the small plants in the tree trunk, quite cool that. :)

Have you through about using the props to hold up the metal you got for the roof, instead of the metal walls as you can use them for other projects. Enjoying the build, and look forward to seeing more from the UK.

Great work Jasmine! I love that you leave in the parts where you struggle with the heavy panels. As a fellow female DIYer I relate so hard. Heavy duty Dollys and trolleys (which I’m sure you’re already all over) have been the only way I’ve been able to survive. I even bought myself a motorcycle hydronic scissor lift on the weekend that lifts up to 680kg 😂. Love your work and am looking forward to watching your journey.

I love my sunday night watch sessions! You're so authentic and true to your word and always post when you say you will and we always know we'll see amazing progress from a busy week. I've watched a few container home builds and they don't go into the detail you do and break it down to laymans terms. Everyone mentions how the containers become weak and compromised when the wallls are cut away, but no one seems to explain how the structural integrity is added back permanantly once the props come down (you see time lapses of progress that skips over that bit). A lot of the ones i've seen are 3/4/5 containers all stacked and opened up into huge wide open spaces and sometimes even with vaulted ceilings. Do you put steel gurders in to permanantly give strength? Also love the chicken solo chatting to the camera 😂 You always seem so "in your zone" gardening, a whole different energy version of you (zen af!!).

Aww this was so lovely to read thank you so very much! It was my goal when I started this to make videos that I couldn’t find myself and that actually explained everything because that’s what I wanted when I was searching for videos and couldn’t seem to find it, I’m hoping to make it a lot easier for people in the future if they choose to go down a similar path or atleast get ideas I’m so happy you appreciate it ☺️ Yeah I’ll be having beans and everything in , so basically where’s my footings are extra beans will beed to be added for supports because cutting out the walls completely comprises the structure . I use to be the queen of rental gardening, the owners would literally lower the rent for me to have me stay because I use to go nuts on their gardens and improving the place 😂

please remember to fix those props at the top somehow jasmin. you never hear them fall. fatal if they do. are they yours? if so i’d just put a tiny tack weld you can grind off later or maybe tack a small twig of metal like a reo offcut or something to the container to go through a hole in the prop. sorry to instruct but it’s important. those things are deadly. even a good sunny day might make them loose
