Great in-depth review. I’ve yet to find a shot tracking unit that’s simple and intuitive and gets you all of the data that you’d ultimately like to see. It seems like ShotScope gave it a pretty good effort though!
Hi Rob. Last chance to claim your prize. Please get in touch via my social media accounts by midnight Friday 9th December 2022, otherwise I'll have to re-draw for the prize
I don’t play very often, but love having something specific to work on at the range. How many rounds does it take for the stats to be useful? P.S., I also have a wife and two children so being able to say “I won this Pro LX+ from Golf Guy” is much better than “I spent the children’s inheritance again”
Thanks for watching Edd. I’d say you can start getting a rough idea after your first few rounds, and then you’ll just keep getting better data the more you play 👍 Haha, it’s your money not theirs, you can leave them the rangefinder in the will 🤣🤣 Thanks for watching 👍
Nice hands on review. I've never used a range finder or club tracking so it would be a nice addition. I've been on the fence a while now as to if I should get one and if so which one. Keep up the good work and best of luck to the winner if it isn't me.
Thanks for your review and analysis. I really enjoyed the details of the positives and negatives of the unit. I've watched your video on the Shot Scope V3 as well. What is your opinion on which unit you like better for playability and data accuracy? The V3 or the H4 and why? Thanks again!!!!
Thanks for watching Shawn and getting in touch. Neither is more accurate in my opinion , but I prefer the usability of the V3. Much more natural to look at my wrist each time than my belt or bag. Also, I find it easier to remember to do pin collect with the watch compared to the H4. Don’t forget to use my link and discount codes in the description 👍👍
Thanks Ben…in terms of measuring as a rangefinder, there’s no difference really, it’s just the bushnell is small and feels better in the hand, where as the shot scope pro lx is larger and feels a bit more plasticky….but is quite a bit cheaper, or for about the same price you could get the combo so you have the gps and tracking also…and don’t forget I’ve currently got a 15% off code and link in the description 👍
Thanks a very good insight into the Shot scope products ... May start with the H4, i suppose I'm a bit of a data person so would enjoy that side of it too, thanks for a great review 👍
Another great review. However I couldn’t look away from your ball cap! It’s awesome. What brand is it? I use a shot scope watch and the data collected has changed my game management.
Thanks Eddie, really appreciate that! The cap is from Pharaoh Golf, it’s called the Greyhound - www.pharaohgolf.com/product/the-greyhound-baseball/ I’ve got a few of their caps and I love them - and they’re currently offering 20% off with code AUGUST20 (The baseball caps are the smallest fit which are best for my pea head, but they do some cool curved and trucker caps too that fit bigger for normal sized heads 🤣)
Nice review...My Garmin G7 just died and I miss having a GPS to give me front and back, and hazards .... It would also be great to have a laser the performs better than my Mileseey. Replacing Arccos with Shot Scope...not sure🤔 but it would be nice to compare them....
Decent and fair review mate, I must admit some of it does seem a bit of a nuisance but having the data and information on an app does appeal to me as I have that with my Garmin S40.
Thanks Martin 👍 I’ve got an s42 and have compared it against a shotscope. They both have their own benefits, but the shotscope does provided far more detailed post round information compared to Garmin app. Garmin provides plenty for sure, but shotscope has more
Seen it advertised and intrigued, great review. The work at the end of the course doesn't bother me so will definitely consider purchasing unless I get lucky in the giveaway.
I have the H4, and I've noticed some of the club distances are quite off. For instance, on my last round, it had an average distance with my chipper as 84 yards (p-avg of 73 yards), but when manually calculating it after the round, it was like 27 yards. Have you had the same issue by chance?
Hi, the original winner didn't claim the prize, so it's been re-drawn and YOU WON! Drop me a message on my social media, either Instagram or Twitter (both @golfguyreviews) and hopefully you're in the UK or US so I can arrange postage!
No doubt it's not going to do all the work for you. Like many tools, it takes effort on your part. However, if you want to track your shots, it's better than trying to write it all down on a notepad and really, just live with the imperfect recording of your round. Accept what it shows you for your fairway shots and don't worry about editing the round afterwards to perfection. 95% of the really useful data will still be there and as you use it, it becomes easier and more intuitive. However, most people I know have little patience for much in life. The tracking function is probably not for them.
@@GolfGuyReviews yeah deffinatly I use arcoss but I was using game golf live before that..it literally took 15strokes off my game..I went from an 15 to 10 handicapper becoz I knew my distances..
Was introduced to this range finder today and the GPS club technology sounded amazing. Looks like a great deal and helpful to get accurate data. Looking to take my game to the next level and get the handicap down. Thanks for the review, very helpful w/ pros and cons of the devices.
No thanks! I don’t want to carry a laptop to the course. Just another device to slow play on Saturday and Sunday. Too much work and time. Thanks for the video.
Boo not able to win from Australia! By the way the most obvious improvement for the app for me would to be able enter the length of a putt from the flag and a radius arc gets auto-created for you to then select when you putt from. Very annoying to know you hit a 8 ft putt but can’t get the pin point to match. Would improve putting massively
Very, very helpful and informative review. One of the best I’ve seen. Been looking way down the rabbit hole on different analytics options (Garmin vs Arccos vs ShotScope) and this is one of the best unbiased reviews I’ve seen. Thank you!
Yeah this actually looks really good. I’ve never used a range finder before but as I improve at golf I’m finding I’d have a bit more use for it so definitely would consider getting something like this tbh and has all the functionality I’d want tbh! (From my point of view coming from no distance measure technique even a plasticy feel would put me off 😂)
Came to this video after watching your review of the V3 watch. I like the idea of the H4 but not too sure about the extra effort needed to get the full data. I use my iPhoneXR with the Golfshot app connected to my Apple Watch which seems to give me similar data to the H4, I also get a course overview plus a ‘flyover’ of my shots after the round is finished, so I can see where my shots went wrong! (Which they do quite often). I am a returning golfer 2 months in & now aged 68 and it’s been 27 years since I last played with a h/c of 19. Hoping to get near to that sort of handicap with the help of some the kit that wasn’t available back then. Great video and excellent explanation with the pluses & minuses. Thanks and best wishes.
Thanks so much Gary, and I’m glad to hear you’ve got back into golf, best of luck with your return and the competition. I used to use the golf shot app on my iWatch with the subscription…but it was eating my watch battery too quickly for my liking at the time. I need to give it another try though as that was with a series 2 watch and I now have a series 6
I've always been a bit sceptical about range finders, so it would be great to get the opportunity to win one and use it on the course in Portugal this September
Good chance to try one then Dan if you win it 👍 do you know I’ve never done a golfing trip abroad….I played a 9 hole course on Magnetic Island on Oz while I was travelling, but that wasn’t a golfing holiday 🤣
@@GolfGuyReviews this will be my second trip, in the last two years. I also try and get a round in when we're lucky enough get away on family holiday 😁 Villamoura has become very expensive and I'd like to try somewhere like Turkey in the future.
@@GolfGuyReviews think that would get alot of traction, as people are becoming more strapped for cash and if there are cheaper less well know alternatives it could get alot of clicks 👍
