9:45 "I'm just doing that to collect data". I immediately subscribed after that line. I felt like i was playing with one of my friends. Keep up the content (and the honesty)!
Nice review and even better video. I just found your channel and have one on the way. You got me with "doing it to collect data"! Liked and subbed. Felt like I was there with you. 👍
Just thought I would let you know I am loving my H4 and I have recommended your video to others who ate curious about the H4. Recently I changed my routine so that I take my shot first then tag the club to the H4 and found that worked better for me. Basically it made it so I did not think about tagging thr shot until after which gave me some mental space to make a good shot without thinking if I tagged the club. All the best dude!
Thank you for your comment and thank you for recommending the video! Yeah that’s a pretty good routine. Some times I tag post-shot too, but it would be good for me to have a consistent tagging routine! Glad to hear you’re loving your H4 too. Can’t wait to use it more this year!
Really appreciate the feedback. I have the same issues and concerns with Arcoss. Looking at getting the Shotscope Rangefinder with the gps system. You did a great job of demonstrating ease of use. Thank you.
I love your honest and "regular Joe" review of the Shot Scope good shots and bad. I've only been playing golf for 11 months and still over 100. How long have you been playing and what is your score?
Great review, this helped my decision. I've benn thinking of purchasing this because of the price, account of tags provided, and no required subscription. I have at the earliest 3 months before I can get out on the course again. I appreciate your time in making this video.
Decent video. I just got my H4 today and so excited, just like you, to get the data. For putting, as I understand it, you want to tag the putter over the ball before each putt. This will help show your 1st and 2nd putt which can help you know how your lag putting it. Pin collect then helps to show based on where you tagged your putts how long the putts were and if you putted passed the hole or left it short. It was so nice to watch how easy it was for you to use it during the gsme. Now I am even more excited to get out and use this tomorrow for 9 holes after work and again on the weekend for 18.
You are right! Definitely tap it over each putt. After playing a few rounds, tagging is becoming more natural and I’m forgetting less. I hope you enjoy your H4!
@@playbaad Thanks! I decided to putt the H4 in "manual mode" for my putting, tonight I get to try it out. I was going to say on that missed birdie opportunity in the video... I had the exact same thing happen to me like a week ago. golf is so hard! I like your channel keep posting the videos!
Great walkthrough and review. You deserve more birdies aha. Love that you actually went on course and showed what to do. Question about the device and use... Do you need to use your phone at all for the round?
Thank you! No, you don’t need to use your phone the entire round with the Shotscope H4. When you end the round on the device, everything is stored on-device. When you get home you can sync it to your phone which stores all your data with Shotscope in the cloud.
Curious what your thoughts are with your shot scope now, months later. I’m bouncing back and fourth between Shot Scope and Arccos .. leaning towards Shot Scope. Any updates available? Also, just found your channel through searching for these reviews and I will definitely be subscribing. I really enjoy your content!
Still enjoying the H4 months later! It’s been collecting data pretty accurately and now I’m really used to tagging all of my shots and adding penalties when needed. Thanks so much for subscribing to the channel!
GREAT review! I was considering this and the V3 watch (which I can't seem to find). But, personally I think I'm liking this one (H4). Especially because the the "beep" or alert/notice that let's you know the H4 has accepted the current club you're going to use next. Have you had better results "tapping the putter to the H4 at the ball...then putt, then pin collect" after? Also, for the price of the Arccos, plus the subscription, you should get FREE replacement sensors when they go bad/stop tracking.
I feel your pain on leaving the putt short. Great review!! Do you play branded clubs? This is my only concern. Other reviews talked about club set up in the dashboard. My clubs are not branded. Any idea if I can still track? Thanks!
Yeah you should still be able to track your clubs, although I haven’t tried it with non-branded clubs. You really could select any brand you wanted as long as it’s the same club. I could select Cobra 7-iron even though I play Titleist 7-iron and it won’t matter. It’s just for me to know that I used my 7 iron, no matter what the branding.
This video was very helpful! Thanks man, appreciate the content. Probably going to pick up an H4. One question, do you think it would have any issues clipping to waist band of non belt loop pants? Sort of a weird question but lots of days with rain pants on the course here in Portland OR
Cool man, glad to hear that, hope you enjoy your H4. It shouldn't have any problem clipping on to pants without a belt. I've done it a few times. It feels more secure when clipped to a belt but I didn't feel like I was going to lose it either.
Thanks for the review. I really appreciate the on course use of the Shot Scope so I can actually see the interaction of using the device. I'm looking to get the Shot Scope and I'm deciding between the V3 watch and the H4 handheld. Do you have any thoughts of using the watch vs the handheld?
Hey Shawn, unfortunately I don’t have any experience with the watch so I can’t really comment on it. I have had decent experience using my Apple Watch with Arccos and other apps and I always appreciated having all of my distances and shot tracking on my wrist. I would think you couldn’t go wrong with the V3 or H4, it probably comes down to personal preference.
I just got this and curious if you have continued to track data and if it has been useful tracking strokes gained data? Has it helped you to focus practice on certain areas of your game. Great video and helpful for me on how to use. Thank you!
Hey! Yes I’m still using it on every round. I honestly don’t analyze the data as much as I should or could. When I do though, I do appreciate the insights. Hope you enjoy the device, let me know if you like it or dislike it once you start using it.
Been looking for a handheld gps with shit tracking. Was going to roll with Arrcos until I saw your review just now about it. You’ve convinced me to get this Shot Scope a try. So thank you for that. I subbed to your channel also after watching this review. Have you heard about the newer golf handheld device called Rad Hand+? I’ve tried to search for reviews but I think it’s so new there isn’t much out about it other than minor details of what it does… great content, how’s the sensors holding up for you so far with shot scope?
Thank you! No I’ve never heard of Rad Hand+, I’ll have to research it. My sensors and Shotscope H4 are holding up very well. I haven’t had any issues whatsoever. The only thing that annoys me sometimes is their proprietary charging cable. If it doesn’t sit flush sometimes it starts to buzz and doesn’t charge. I’m very cautious to make sure the plug and charge symbol appear on the screen before walking away after plugging it in.
@@playbaad roger that, I’ll have to keep an eye out for the charging issue you speak of. Thank you brother. I’m going golfing this Sunday and the H4 is arriving sometime today! Can’t wait to use it👊🏽
Great review! Looking forward to getting the H4. How did you get it to register the putts? I heard you mention a couple different ways, but I’m still confused as to how it works, once you’re on the green?
Hey! It works the same way as other shots. When you’re about to put, you tag your putter with the H4. If you putt again, you tag your putter again at the new location of your ball. I think if you forget to tag some putts it’s ok because as soon as you walk on to the green the H4 goes into PinCollect mode. Before you leave the green, you’re going to want to select how many putts you took in PinCollect mode. You can select up to 4 putts. Hopefully you don’t putt more than 4 times, but it happens, lol. I think for the best accuracy, you tag your putter to your H4 at the location of each putt and you also use PinCollect mode before leaving the green. Hope it works out well for you, let me know if you learn anything else about the H4 that you find cool.
@playbaad yes I realize that. The comment was more for others that are using it. No need to buy sensors when they will send you a new one, and you get three free with the yearly subscription. Sadly subscriptions, for everything, is the future. I doubt Arccos business would work by just selling hardware. The value is in the data and compute services are not cheap.
Great video Joe. I am looking for a gps system like this. Can you tell me if a course is not listed on the system, will it still give the information? Do you have to tap each club again before every shot even if you hit it on another hole? Thank you. David Sweidel
No, if the course is not listed on the system it won't give any information for it. Yes, you have to tap each club before each shot. That way it can track which clubs you used on each hole. It's a pretty cool system if you get a chance to try it out.
Had the same question. Look like you tagged near the pin then walked to your ball. Didn’t see you tag again but your stats showed putting distances which is awesome. Thanks
Yes, you need to tag each putt in order to get the distance. If you don’t tag each putt you can still just collectively input how many putts you took on a green. It allows you to input up to 4 putts. Anything over that and we probably need to pick up and go to the next hole anyway, lol 😂
