This i understand, I use his black fang pics when I play and I'm waiting on his White Fangs too brother . I play because of the first time hearing Fade To Black. Not Long after down the track I picked up a guitar when I was 14 , I'm 41 now man. I feel you. It's hard when you feel like your a part of someone you haven't met. Wow, the people saying James should never have gone through rehab 'cause it "ruined him"... just means they never really liked the actual James since that's who he is now, they liked the drunk asshole who didn't know who he was. Go figure. James is great, it's so nice to see that he's woken up and grown up whilst others haven't.
@502Aviation
@502Aviation 8 лет назад
I have always respected James for what he did. He saw the problems he had, what he was doing to himself. He saw that if he stayed on the path he was on, that he would not be a good husband to his wife or a good father to his kids. He recognized he needed help, so he MANNED UP and sought it out. For that, I consider James to be a "real man". Anyone who says James is ruined is just butthurt because James' life experiences have influenced the the art he creates, and he's not the "drunk asshole" playing thrash metal these "purists" grew up with. A true Metallica fan appreciates ALL of their musical styles, even if he/she doesn't like every single song. If you gave up on them after Justice or Puppets, you are not a true fan.

I grew up my entire life without a father and my family was in a close minded religion (JW's) which is very similar in many ways to Christian Science. Hetfield WAS my father figure growing up and Metallica helped me through a lot of horrible times in my life. People scoff at the idea of metal music healing your soul but those people haven't got a clue. I tell them to look at James Hetfield's life and imagine the dark roads he could have taken but instead he let music be his release and his therapy. It's therapy for us all James!!! I always felt a connection to James because we were both born in August of 1963. I can look at photos of him through the years and know what I was going through at that particular time. I’m so sorry about what he went through with his family, it’s truly heartbreaking. I’ll say this, he’s making up for it now because now he has one hell of a life! Obviously, it’s not all great all the time (who’s life is?), but he is taking what he’s learned from his experiences and trying to be a better parent to his own children because of them. This is why I love and respect James so much. Rock on, bro. 🤘

James Hetfield is a hero. An inspiration. He is a masterpiece. An integral part of the music industry. One of the many people who makes sure that music stays honest and meaningful even though we are in a world run by pop idol, x factor, dj what's his name and wow look at me I just took a piss so let's make a tv show about it. Thanks Papa Het !!

the thing that really touched me was when he talked about the passing of his parents and the stuggle he went through his life and metallica and music saved him let him let all his emotion out and put them in to songs very touchy :(

...wow. I have watched an uncountable number of hours of Metallica footage, and have never seen this kind of inner emotion from James. Yes, he has mentioned or vaguely referenced his past, but never with such straight-forwardness. I was almost in tears, as was he. This is sooo good to see and hear he has accepted the past. This clip says so much and answers alot of questions for many. Thank you. I know I will take away from this a better tomorrow.

This Man is so humble, thank full, ADORES HIS WIFE AND KIDS, almost lost them. He came back??? I didn't know he ever left... Extremely kind and looks out for everyone around him...he deserves no negative comments, he's a Human Being and alot of people depend on him to have that life, he knows the responsibility of Sobriety and Family.. blah blah blah.. Oh jeez, that 1st wife of his, Lars....hehehe

Everything James just spoke about I agree with him going up there was never much love in my house when I turn 25 and met my wife learning how to accept love let alone saying the words I love you we're so hard for me it was complicated Metallica has been there for me since the age of seven when I started listening to them I am 34 now I've always felt a connection with you James now I know why I love you James Hetfield you're my friend I love the whole band including Jason even though he left broke my heart but thank you papa het I know you were there for me and I know you were there for a lot of other teenagers even adults going through some hard times in their lives cuz I know you were there for me man and I was dying in the ICU I had Metallica in my headphones playing when I got to the rehab hospital in a wheelchair when I had to learn how to walk due to getting shot 14 times Metallica were in my ear playing helping me not to quit I can walk today with a limp but I walk and most importantly I told my son and my wife everyday that I love them and I mean it and they feel it and they give it to them as much as possible and metallic was right there with me every step of the way of learning I love you Papa HET
