Please Like, Subscribe, Share, and Comment. We appreciate your support! Some viewers think the large, metal sink was used as a morgue. Others think it was used to butcher animals. What do you think? I am looking forward to hearing what you think about this abandoned ghost town.

Maripie I know the feeling! As a geology student, I once walked into an tiny mountain encampment in Durango, Mexico. There were smoking campfire ashes and several small steel flasks lying on the ground. I recognized them as mercury flasks worth a small fortune by Mexican miner standards. I feigned indifference, and broke into a cold sweat, sure that there were rifles trained on me, and slowly walked back to my jeep and left. Later in the summer I met an old miner and his pack burro plus old rifle on a trail and he told me that there was nothing that would interest me on the trail ahead. I quickly agreed, turned around, and went back to my jeep again. Aside from dodging rattlers, those were the scariest experiences I had out there.

if no one has been there in years why did the lamps batteries work?
@okeanos467
@okeanos467 7 лет назад
of course lamp is new. batteries usually start leaking in few years and stop working. also notice very little dust on the jacket. and little dust in rooms too.
@kylasweeney22

okeanos467 says in description boy scouts use to stay there. so likely the plastic table that looks newer in 2nd house, the jacket and lamp belongs to them

Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries can last decades and are guaranteed to not leak. Downside, very expensive. AA, AAA, and 9 volt sizes, was told by a testing engineer, the 9 volt batteries could last indefinitely if rarely used.

Some of the cabins look like they have been very discretely repaired. The roofs have a particularly well kept look to them on some of them. I suspect the users of these buildings have intentions of a return at some point. The leather jacket looks just like the ones I used to see down at Tiajauna back in the day. I used to go over to TJ from the San Ysidro border crossing about twenty plus years ago. The metal table was probably used for cleaning/prepping wild game meat. It is nice to see the vandals have not torn it all up.
@ExploreWithUs
@ExploreWithUs 7 лет назад
Yes, you're right Tom, the Boy Scouts use to camp there and did some repairs, but it looks like they haven't been there in a long time, or at least they haven't done any repairs in a long time. I think you're right about the metal table. :-)

Sunny Burrito we don't have anything similar to this. Farms are literally not lived on, very few farmers live on their own land! Only thing we have is abandoned homes and mental institutions and hospitals. Nothing as old as what you see in this video. If we did have the county's make sure to remove old unused sites and re build new homes or other people buy old land to re build!

When I lived in NM back in 1999, I went to an abandoned town that had a caretaker for tourist. Those double ruts coming down the left side of the hill at 9:33 min look like the same ruts the caretaker told me were stage coach tracks from the late 1800 to early 1900s... when stage coaches were still in use. Very interesting...! I noticed that there were two modern chairs in the first house, no more than 5 years old, with no dust on them. In the kitchen of building 2 were a bunch of unknown chemicals under the sink, and a "heavy box" that went unexamined. A couple of recent looking beer bottles rounded off the picture. It all looked too clean and recently-used, for my liking. This place has served a purpose recently, probably not a legal one.

At 1:38 - was there something on the signs in front of the building. And isn't it odd that the jugs in that building would have water in them? With the water, light and coat, I think someone has to be around.

Great videos. Love them. Please be careful. I went exploring one time, and turned over a box, and a large scorpion was sitting on the ground. Dangerous! I hope you guys always wear gloves, arm and leg protection, boots, and keep an emergency medical kit with you. If I were you, although I am not pro-gun, it seems that some sort of protection would be wise. Another awesome video! I would say that long "sink" in the one building would have been a wash trough for cleaning deer or other livestock. They would have likely kept some animals, pigs, chickens, etc, for sustenance while in camp. They probably used the trough for everything from butchering meat to washing their clothes.

I think most of those half buried or rock walled small buildings you call "cold storage" are smoke houses. They almost inevitably have a stack on top, but never a stove inside, or evidence of one. No refrigeration except winter (lol), salting, smoking, and drying was about the only way to preserve meat, whether stock or game. That "odd sink" seems like the "washing machine"/laundry station. I do think your "water heater" call was spot on, though it could be a low pressure boiler as well

you should put a small mirror at the end of a stick so when you find a bucket you don't want to take down off the shelf you can hold the stick up in the air and get a good look at what's in the bucket without moving it

the large sink like box you found, with the spout, is an old drink cooler. you put all drinks in there then fill it with water and ice..

If this is all in Nevada. I can tell by the candle on the shelf and the light. It's for drug runners from Mexico.. They are using it as a drop off or collection area..No one or there mother would be out there. Either the fresh tire tracks are yours or some one else was recently out there before you. Those tire tracks would be warn down by wind by now..and wouldn't be visible hardly.. The first cabin had a number 3 above the door.. so this tells me..some one built a desert retreat or a place to leave the city for awhile. those cabins are not old.. 80's maybe like a small dude ranch style.. The beer bottles are recent and the propane bottles are newer maybe 5 years old. I have the exact same ones.. You stumbled upon a camp..Time: 4:42 as your checking out the other buildings on the hill.. there is a pile of fresh wood mixed with older gray wood..Indication that it's still being used. The last cabin with the piano and dinner table.. Mexican's aren't like us Americans.. We eat in all areas of our homes..No matter how ruthless some of these runners are..they stick to there traditions / manners well. The last cabin is for entertaining and eating only..Here in California. we have some of the same type set ups as well.. a place for runners.. and things are left behind for the next group.. Maybe this area hasn't had the same use as many .. or the feds or immigration knows of this area as popular..and people wont go there for years until the heat dies down..Fresh cut wood to me indicates some one was there recently. Time 10:30.. the bathtub sink is for cleaning meat.. Gutting animals for cooking. Time 9:09 that bridge is newer. It's not a town..It's was a private residence or retreat. 10:14..whats it say on the the wood with the paper on it..the name of that person buried there.. so we can investigate that area..learn something about the people that once owned it..There some older buildings I say..And the 3 inline have sheet metal roofs.. some one was replacing new material over old..I wouldn't go as far to say. this ghost town is a town.. It's no way 1800's but early to late 1900's..

Sonic Reef yeah the place looks like it was maybe around for 50-60 years. some of that wood looked to be in pretty good shape. i would be worried about wandering into some sort of a trap.

I would suspect that most haven't been used for a while. But when you find things like jackets hanging and no dust whats so ever on it..Alarm would go off..It's questionable.. Like A video before this one.. A battery powered lantern came on.. Shelves / propane bottles that looked resent. Maybe a hunting cabin..still you never know whats around the corner or over the hill.. that's why he uses a drone first..to scope it out before hand, No matter how many he does. 100 to a million locations.. theres always going to be at least one thats going to be scary or some one there. God giving there not mean..Murphy's Law.. What wont happen , Will..it's when..

I think the metal sinks were for cutting up wild game esp. Deer, judging from all the bones.
