We are Alex from Germany and Craig from Alabama. For 14 years we call Fairbanks, Alaska our home where we live a modern life without some of the amenities that people have in the lower 48. We believe that there are a lot of misconceptions about living in Alaska. In this video we show you a realistic day in our life.

Great video. That Physical Fitness Center looks nice, that was not there when I was lived there. And an ice rink! Where is that located at on post? Looks like Fort Wainwright has changed a little bit since I left. Craig works on post, it looks like you work at a school or doctors office? You don’t have to say if you don’t want to, I understand. When you drive around it brings back a lot of memories from when I grew up there. Have a great week. 😊

I am really debating right now between FAirbanks and the Matsu VAlley- Moving in 4-5 years there and it's so tough! What are your recommendations for why you chose Fairbanks over further Southcentral Alaska? Thank you for the videos. You are a beautiful family and I really enjoy watching and learning :)

Hi Mischa, we didn’t have a choice . We were stationed here.Craig is retired military. Matsu Valley is absolutely beautiful, it is not as cold as it is up here in Fairbanks and it’s closed to Anchorage. When it comes to every day live in the Matsu Valley we don’t have any information. Fairbanks is a community where you can be who you are. It can be an introverts paradise if you don’t want to get involved. But also provides lots of opportunities to engage with the community. It’s a great place to rave a family away from the hustle and bustle. I personally love the dry climate and the fact that I can be everywhere in town within 15 minutes. However, I am not a big city girl and don’t need a huge amount of stores. Craig on the other hand advises you

Advises you to go for the Matsu Valley. If he would have a choice he would move to Palmer😊
