I have a white cat that loves to roll in the dirt… all the dang time. We’ve been giving him baths since he was a kitten. It took awhile, he’s five now, and he loves his baths. It has to be a warm bath. He swims around in it. He will still meow and talk but he loves it. The new kitty, not so much… yet. Try dipper rash ointment ( Aquaphor ) with your hand lotion , add the ointment first then put the lotion on. If you really want your hands to be more hydrated out that combination on your hands with either plastic / latex gloves or can use plastic bags on your hands for an hour or if you can handle it over night while you sleep.

An oil works best for me (Whipped Shea Butter any brand) with the ash I used to have the same problems with putting on lotion and being ashy 2 seconds later. I make my own now because its cheaper and I can make any scent I want but I also use it for my whole body and make a big jar of it at home.

Okay on dry hands. Now normally I'm an oily skin girlie, but this winter hand me fighting for my hydration life. Like ive never been this ashy in public so often. The cheat code was for me to treat my hands like i do my face. I'm talking toner, serum, lotion, oil, and during peak winter i slugged with a lil bit of Vaseline. Now my work around is i carry a mini spray bottle with toner in the purse, use my lotion, and dry oil gives it a tyler perry baby oil shine. Because i refuse to dishonor my ancestors. I’ve been waiting for diet updates

Hi Sundai, I have very dry hands too. When my hands get super dry, I layer lotion and oil followed by cotton gloves while I sleep at night. I can't keep the gloves on all night but I try to keep them on for at least 4 hrs 3 times a week. It really does help to fight dry, ashy hands.

Hi Sundai, Use cuticle remover on your hands to loosen the dead skin then use one of those korean hand scrubber to remove dead skin after it soaked for 10 or 15 min.

I’ve had dry, cracked skin my whole life and my favorite hand cream is by Klair’s. You can get it in a pump to keep by the sink, and a smaller travel sized one. It absorbs quickly while still keeping you moisturized, so I’m able to apply it all day after washing my hands! It’s fixed me right up, even when my hands are cracked and bleeding 😅

pair the lotions with lotion gloves especially over night, also maybe (for hands and/or feet specifically) try ointments over creams. Creams tend to evaporate after a short while and ointments create a barrier. My husband has really really bad eczema and he has to shower with black soap and moisture retention soaps and then he slathers himself with ointments and seals it in with a dimethicone like Averno eczema therapy. He does it before bed so that he doesn't have to be as dry throughout the day and can get ways with a mini hand slather throughout the day.

You are so natrually hilarious. I also used to stay ashy as a chocolate girly but it did help when I carried around a small container so I could reapply when needed. Illiyoon ultra repair lotion has done wonders for me.

Sundai , try washing your hand and then use an oil based body scrub, then cling film hands with thick layer of Vaseline for about 20 minutes, do this twice times a week your hands will be bay smooth and moisturized :)

Use Vaseline, Oil Johnson. This is what I use usually, whenever one of them finishes. Maybe try perfumed oil from boticário.

African shea butter all year round it’s perfect

Ever tried to use oil in the shower after you've cleaned yourself? Not dried up, but when you're in the shower while you're still wet. The oil will trap and keep more moisture in when it is applied on wet skin. I know this might seem gross for some, but it works wonders. Just get a natural plant oil that your skin like and just try it.

The gym reference is so funny.

when giving baths i find its best to get them used to water first. like bringing them in the shower room with you when you take baths/showers.... yes it feels weird but it helps a little. and instead of a shower head i just recycle a plastic QuikTrip cup and use that to rinse them off instead and fill up a small tub of water to sit them in.
