I just emailed you this but damn, I’m still crying- had to pause a few times. This hits so hard. There aren’t communities like this specifically in west LA but I basically lived in a triplex and it was a shack - but I didn’t know. I could literally walk around our little shack in 10 seconds.. but I didn’t know any better. It was home and it was all I knew and I was outside all the time, playing, learning how to cut a piece of aloe off of the aloe Vera plant when I’d scrape my knee and keep on playing. Gunshots, gangsters hopping through our yard and running from the cops, ghetto bird shining their light trying to follow them at midnight and it waking me up was all normal.. I thank God every day because my son knows nothing of that life and never will. You did it Sundai! It hits different when you back to where you grew up and really face it 🥹❤

It's just so different when you come from less. The idea that I could own my own home after growing up in a one bedroom apartment with seven-eight people, it is my most sacred dream. You are really amazing. Your drive, your perseverance, leaves me in awe. You deserve it all, Sundai.

What gets me is how snobby/thankless people can be *anywhere* and any color. I'm African American, old as dirt🧓 , I teach history and am a nerd. Omg, people being snide to Sundai and others just because "they live in a trailer park" galls me. 😡 There are SO many people out here - many in this country - that would cry out of happiness to have a home like that. And not just immigrants. Sundai, you have every right to be proud of how you grew up and hustled. We are impressed here in YT land. I had someone ask me that too "how you stay so happy?" I thought I gave the best answer but after introspecting my life, it was way more than spiritual practices or healing work that made me happy. I cried when you cried b/c coming from the Bay Area and living in SF. I understood exactly how you felt. We overcome a lot and still keep going at our best and still able to be there for others and not allow them to feel the pain we feel. I don't like people to feel my emotions b/c I want everyone around me to be just as happy and more. Congratulations, Sundai, on all your endeavors you deserve it and more. I used to sell modified Barbie dolls and erasers with designs I drew on them to other kids- so your stories about reselling candy in the parking lot really brought me back 🥰 And the thing about society bullying you into believing you’ve got it bad when you’re just a child minding your business is so real. Oh my. The part in the video where Sundai is showing her tears is where I am at now. My physical health doesn't always line up with my drive. I have always had big dreams and plans. However, having an autoimmune disease makes it so hard to fulfill my dreams and plans. The level of tiredness that I feel some days is indescribable. Watching Sundai motivates me and I have started planning based upon if I am possibly not feeling well. So if I am able to accomplish more than I planned to, great! If I only get that one thing done that I planned, that is okay too. Thank you for inspiring another (much older) sick gyal, Sundai and I am SO proud of you.

I have similar upbringing. We lived in a suburb in norcal. I always say I grew up Mexican. Was also at everyone's house for dinner. Cause my family was poor af and dysfunctional. Everyone I came in contact with were immigrants. They showed me that you can come from nothing and make something of yourself. And what a real family could be. I was always optimistic because of this. 😊❤ most likely why I have wanderlust too. 😅 exposed to so many cultures from day 0.
