This bike really did blow me away with pricing, I know a lot of you are gonna say what a rip off, but these type of bike specd with these components and those wheels is like 8-10 thousand now, we havnt seen bike prices like this since before 2020 right before covid. was nice to see this again, and hats off to cervelo for a nice bike for every rider out there!!!

Looks like a crossover between a R5 and their previous "S-series" of bikes (not their S5's). Glad Cervélo is trying to find ways to trickle down their tech at a (somewhat) affordable price. Hope yhey come out with frame only versions soon, so people can collect parts! Good video GC!

This is the only integrated internal routing format I accept: Two-piece cockpit + no internal routing for the stem. The shift and brake lines just need to hide from the wind, not the mechanic, just like the early 2010s S5's rear rim brake.

Nice video thanks, I have to say that's actually quite a nice bike, I've not really looked at Cervelo before and this does look nice with a good spec, that paintwork is lovely. @danbanham728
@danbanham728 Год назад
@@GCPerformance18 Agreed, in your vid at 08:49 it shows the saddle rails made from manganese, which I think is marketing fluff from Cervelo. Manganese is actually essential when adding to iron ore to turn it into steel and reduces the brittleness of steel and adds strength. If the rails just said Steel people would think ooh heavy but Manganese rails... sounds expensive!! lol. I agree titanium would have been better but I guess there is a balance of weight and cost. I'm thinking these frames must be made by Giant as the Orbea Orca M20iLTD looks very similar and can be specced with Sram or Ultegra and £6500, probably the same bike made in the same factory just a different paint job.

Yeah it’s kinda heavy, but cervelo use heavy components here, like the stem, the alloy handlebar, the saddle clamp, seatpost wedge, etc. The 8.2 kg weight is surprising because the frameset is 920g, and the fork is 360g, and the wheelset is around 1300-1400g. I ride a bike to stay fit and hopefully insure I live a longer and healthy life. But what kind of retirement am I going to have if I'm broke? Spending thousands of dollars on the bikes today is insane because they are cheap junk that are not engineered to last long at all which means you would have to make that investment several times throughout you lifetime. I'm guessing 40 to 50 K overall. That's a lot of money you could have put into your retirement fund.

You're going through 15 bikes in your lifetime? Maybe if you crash a lot. The carbon frame will outlast you if maintained properly

@@Shadowboost You wish. I have had lots of carbon components fail and a couple of carbon bikes. Failed and not from crashing! Fact. Never had a metal component or metal bike fail. I don't believe you are a cyclist.

Relatively easy to assemble ru-vid.comUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA (note that is does not come with tools, so please have a set of hex/Allen keys and Phillips screwdriver handy). The bike weighs 27 lbs fully assembled, which is not bad.A couple quirks about the bike:- left brake lever operates the front brake (something to get used to if controlling the front brake with your right hand is what you usually do)- Shimano thumb shifters for the gears are positioned close to the center. This is a bit of a nuisance because changing gears involved taking your weight from one hand to change gears, a hassle if you are regularly changing gears. However, gear shifters positioned at the drop bars are very expensive compared to thumb shifters, so I can understand, given the price of the bikeBike is otherwise of good quality. Gears change fairly smoothly and fit/assembly is of good quality. A totally competent product for the price.
