I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since. The genre, along with artists like Michael Jackson, Aaliyah, Britney Spears, etc. then motivated me into becoming a hip-hop/pop dancer, which was a very active lifestyle for me literally throughout my whole 20s. (XTRA DANCE 411- I danced for, trained, and performed with 4 different dance teams. My first and main dance team who started my "dance life" was with Marvelous Motion (who later became IaMmE, America's Best Dance Crew Season 6 Champions). A lot of my dance training came from Di "Moon" Zhang, Brandon "747" Harrell, Emilio Dosal, SOREAL, and from attending many dance classes in Houston and L.A. (from amazing local talent to widely-known talents such as Parris Goebel, Keone Madrid, Kyle Hanagami, Lando Wilkins, Mister Wiggles, Rino Nakasone)
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music and dance around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis, seizures, and a heart murmur. I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with Kpop or dance. Luckily, I'm in remission now. That doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups if I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible. I am also not capable of being an active dancer like I used to be due to my chronic illnesses, but I’m still a dancer in my mind, heart, and soul.
ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛 Sooo I am currently and actively keeping a weather eye on the KPOP horizon and also using what I’ve learned from my dance years to give credit where it’s due!

14:06 well Mark does have that charm, it's well known that he's that one member that makes the choreo look easy when he dances because he's just so smooth like you said and graceful, but irl the choreo isn't as easy as he makes it look 🤣 he's not a lead dancer for nothing. He's also the main/original visual (yes GOT7 are all hella handsome but they have two official visuals, the other one is Jinyoung), sub-vocalist, and main rapper. Also “Mr. Sharp” is Yugyeom, GOT7's maknae, main dancer, lead vocalist, and sometimes (sub)rapper. Thank you for finally reacting to GOT7!! So you got it right, this entire choreography is telling the story of the song and the album. The part where 2 members spin (bambam and jb) it's a reference to spinning top which is the title of the album. The entire album is about overcoming insecurities. Eclipse in particular holds that meaning (leader jb wrote and produced it) it's about overcoming our fears and dark thoughts and hanging to the light (i'm gonna win this fight). I think you calling my name would be a nice choice to listen/ watch after Eclipse. Thank you for your reaction.

"mr. sharp" is yugyeom, the main dancer and maknae of the group. he's an incredible perfomer, he won hit the stage (a dancing competition between idols) when he was just 18 and he's been studying a lot of different styles of dancing since he was a child basically, he's just so talented for real

I would like to suggest you react to the GOT7 Flight log Trilogy (Fly-Hard Carry-Never Ever) Koreans really love Hard Carry. starting from the MV, the music, and the dance are very high quality. Kinjaz was their choreographer for the song. from the teaser to the MV in the flight log trilogy, everything is a story that connects to each other (I'm 1000% sure you will love it)

Greatest kpop song of all time (imo). I will never get tired of this song. I love the concept that they're scared that their insecurities will "eclipse" their love for their partner/fans/etc., but they're going to win this fight.

At one point GOT7 was one of the groups that was the most in sync with their choreography, while being able to sing live like 98% of the time. Eclipse is definitely a really good show case of that, given how intricate it is with all of the levels and even floor work.

Finally some GOT7 🤌 the dance practice is even more impressive as you see the whole steps, the choreo is actually pretty theatrical and has such a big moves, GOT7 often have like interactive moves and formations that aren’t isolated to one member like they have a l out of circles or connected choreos. I remember them killing it in live stages but at the end they were totally tired 😂 And for their vocals Helloooo lol they’re known to be one of the best dancers and performers in Kpop as their voices and danse are that strong live wise As for the song it had indeed a lot of moon reference which was a theme they used around this era as for the meaning of the song it’s about anxiety and insecurity of being in the industry. This is one of my favorite song/ video choreo I LOVED the creativity. I wish we’d heard the real version tho as it’s originally produced by Jayb and had a more rnb/ wavy style but the label changed the production. Also always really loved the fact that they were never forced into adjusting to a unique dancing style like sometimes labels forces the members to move as one to get a more visual thing but their old label never forced them Into that as they all were already dancers and each have their own style of dancing like Yugyeom is sharper while JayB has more wavy moves. As a dancer too I totally prefer that style of dancing of each one of them expressing the same move with their own flavor. I love military Choreos too but I feel like sometimes it’s not showing the dancer’s ability as sharp and quick moves are much easier if you’re not a dancer than slight moves and slow choreos because If u don’t have musicality it’s impossible to dance slow choreos You’d really like their « AURA blindfolded version » « if you do » « hard carry » and « breath » choreos

All in all, whenever GOT7 dances, it's like their movements themselves are singing, their dance is music itself. There are great dancers out there but sometimes their choreographies do not represent music, they're just movements. But GOT7's choreo are music themselves in a sense that you can hear the song/music by just watching their moves.

oh my god i looooove your reaction+review soo much!!!!! literally few of the best reactors/reviewers. GOT7 choreos are mostly the hardest but they are beautiful. The Mr. Sharp that you are talking about, his name is Yugyeom xD he won first place in hit the stage (dance competition). One of got7 members (the leader) used to bboy. Bambam used to participate in a dance group before he fly to korea. Jinyoung (the green shirt) passed the audition with dancing. So i guess that can be the factor their dance moves are cleannnn and very good. Maybe you can try to watch Aura (blindfolded version) and Poison (jackson, yugyeom aka mr sharp, jinyoung choreograph for this song). Both are good!!

The major thing to notice about GOT7 choreography is that it’s modeled after their greatest strength which is their team bond. This choreography and most of GOT7’s choreography involves a lot of connections and imagery. The biggest example of this is when people do those big kpop Radom dance challenges with tons of people and they play different artists. when other groups get played it just looks like a bunch of individuals dancing but when GOT7 gets played all of sudden those individuals become a team because GOT7’s choreography is impossible to do otherwise. GOT7 is rare in the fact that they have 6/7 main level dancers. While Yugyeom is the official main dancer of G7 had Jayb, Bambam, mark, Jackson, or Jinyoung been in a different kpop group they easily could be main.

the concept of eclipse is security and insecurity. the lyrics suits the concept. and GOT7’s choreography is always hard that a lot of trainees trying to avoid their songs.

The poetic side it's related to the concept of the album "Spinning Top: Between Security and Insecurity" and they also simulate a spinning top in the dance break. The first half of the album (which includes eclipse) it's the "insecure part", softer songs which main point is insecurities, then other half or the album is more fun and loud and main point is security, like the album's name. You should listen to the album, masterpiece.

I've been watching your videos for the past few days and I'm so happy you're finally getting into got7 because it's my ultimate group in kpop! What I especially looooove about got7's dances is that they don't always focus on doing the moves at the same time at the exact same speed! They focus a lot on their differences in their way of doing the moves and it just helps a lot in understanding their concepts and poetic lyrics! Their individuality is very "real" as it kind of reminds you that not everybody goes at the same speed and does the same thing at the same time! We should focus on creating our own rhythm through life to help us get and live through it and that's what, in my opinion, is very beautiful about got7! They don't hide the members' individuality, they highlight each one through the dance moves and voices! Can't wait to see more of you reacting to got7, thank you!!!

Mr Sharp is Yugyeom, he helped to choreograph this dance. He wanted to do a dance they could only do with the 7 of them~ Fluffy hair with hoodie is Jinyoung, his dance is very exact but looks effortless~ Blue Hair is Youngjae, the power vocal 😆 Jinyoung compares the Eclipse dance to doing crossfit 😬😄💚

Mr. Blue Hair is Youngjae. Mr. Sharp is Yugyeom and he is the main dancer of the group. He won on Hit The Stage. Youngjae is one of the main vocalists. Also a suggestion to get to know them better is to watch The Ultimate Guide to Got7. Thanks for your reaction to Got7!

Jay B (the leader, the guy on his knees at the end of the choreo) gave us this masterpiece! The sharp guy is Yugyeom, main dancer. Idk if you react just to MVs but he actually won "Hit the stage" back in 2017, both choreos are sooooo insane! I love got7 choreographys because thay do it so well and so smooth that looks easy and simple, but if you see a cover is never good enough, is never that smooth, always look weird, maybe because is hard to dance. The only got7 cover dance i like is the one loona member do.
