It's tough but these might be my favorite AJs. I mean the 7s are the most comfy Jordan's at least on my feet... I owned the Bordeaux, playoffs and olympics never owned the Hares but these are gorgeous
By far the most comfortable bro! You aren't alone in thinking that. I'm about to cop a pair of the hare 7s tomorrow. Don't know what's taken me so long.
The Hare 7s are such a beautiful colorway and the 7 model is one of my favorites. I had to double up on these Hare 7s cuz they're comfy and of course, they're fire. 🔥🔥🤘🏾🤘🏾
Dude I’ve been some pages on Instagram who have OG 7s and I’m like hold up. I know it’s supposed to be 2 lace holes at the top of the shoe instead of 3. But now I know that it was different pairs produced in different countries and factories. 💯💯💯💯 I love going back to watch your older videos.
thats dope man. me and about 9 of my friends all failed getting them on ndc. congrats!!! also love these comparison vids. its great to see the changes over time
The shape of the OG VII is a thing of beauty. While these VII are better than the 2002, I don't understand why they continue to make the retros so bulky. Maybe it's because ppl used to complain about Nike being too narrow for them, but 100% of retros now are like the chunky uncoordinated friend of the OG.
Great vid. Thought I'd let you know just in case you didn't know. I heard that all of the factories that produced the OGs are closed down. That might be the reason why the retros aren't up to standard with the OGs. Also I doubt JB would think about thick cuts of materials. Would like to see them but most likely it won't happen. Still the hares probably have to be the best release this year IMO.
Factories closed as well as materials, molds and lasts probably not around. Who knows? Only Nike but I would have to agree that the Hare 7 retro this year has to be the better out of the remastered collection so far.
Nice vid these were a must have for any Jordan head just wished it came in the og box that would have been dope but I don't get jb sometimes but this was definitely a great retro tho hands down very happy with my pair next on my hitlist is them bordeauxs
Hoping you can help me out.. I recently grabbed a pair of the 1992 Hare 7s and I'm seeing a few inconsistencies on my pair. I have been doing research on them for a couple days now and I am a sneaker reseller so I do have some knowledge over mainly Jordans overall and older pairs but I'm not super knowledgeable on the OG pairs before 2000. So for one my size tag says made in Korea but I read an article from Sole Collector saying some pairs also said they were made in Korea but most of them were made in Taiwan and my pair also has 3 holes at the collar. They are beat so there's some things I can't fully check just because I know some things on the shoes can look different now from the wear over the year and things like that. But I'm really just not sure if maybe I have a b grade pair or if they are fake because to my understanding for the older Jordan's they didn't make fakes as much and they were easier to tell apart. So I'm thinking for the OG Jordans there probably weren't if at all many fakes that looked anything close to how the originals look but I know I could be wrong. I've been in touch with the person I got my Hare 7s from and I am able to get my money back, but I just don't want to pass on them without being sure. My Instagram is @theshoeslanger I'll also be messaging you on there and sending you pics, I appreciate whatever knowledge you're able to drop to help with this matter but I understand if you don't.
Nice comparison vid. I actually hit 3 raffles on this shoe but I'm not a reseller and didn't want to drop over 600$ for 3 pairs so I just grabbed one. They must have been pretty easy to get in my area cuz I'm seeing them everywhere I go......
I might be wrong but I don't think the heel tab is made to look like a "7" because Nike didn't number the j's til the 13's (OG's) .. The 12's were the last shoes to have any Nike branding including the box.. If I remember correctly, the bred 13's were the first to have a Roman numeral assigned to the box, the 1998 cherry 13's just said "air Jordan" not sure about the HGG. Back in the 90's we just called jordans by the year and color. Nike never called them 7's til retros came out. so I think it was just a coincidence the heel tab resembles a "7"
+Rustishack206 Nah the 12's have roman numerals on their black and red Nike boxes. Everything else you state is correct. Definitely a coincidence with the 7 on the back but that's on Tinker to make that call since he was the lead designer.
My only complaint on the retros is the tongue size. I don't like how much smaller it is and because of that you get less on the pattern. Other than that one of the better Retro's in years.
VERY GOOD comparison! I do believe the OG Hares and Bordeaux were the only ones to have 2 holes. The other colors had 3. I've never seen OG Hares with 3 holes.
The following are 3 hole OGs. Here is the Bordeaux (Korea) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-f2xCnDkU0FE.html Here is the Hare. Possibly from Korea. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XZ-Q7CGp84c.html
My bead dead stock OG hare 7s swede has slightly yellowed due to age. They still do look nice. I would wear them but they've crumbled. The outside of the midsole is solid but the inside crumbled. A great way to find out whether if your pair had crumbled is by applying pressure to the center of the outsole. Then you will know whether if they're wearable.
I was wondering if you knew anything about the crumbling on OG 7s and how to fix it. I have an OG pair of the Olympics and the uppers separated, and the inside area where the cushioning like the air units are stored and all that crumbled, but the outside "shell" is fine. Since the air units crumbled I can't see what type I need to replace it. Do you know what the tech was on the cushion setup on OG 7s, and is there any way to replace it? I'm guessing it would need a type of sole swap, but how would you swap the air units and what holds them, and how would the fitment be? Thanks!
+Cyrus Irani Honestly wouldn't bother salvaging the OG midsole and with a new air unit. Those are polyurethane midsoles that will eventually need to be swapped. If you're going to swap do it with a newer midsole. However, you will find that newer midsoles will need slight modification in order to have a proper fit. There are a couple vids on youtube that can guide you through a successful midsole swap on a Jordan 7.
+MJO23DAN I really like the look on the original midsole like the outer shell and I wanna keep that and thats why I wanna do the swap with just the units and all. I'll look up midsole swaps for Jordan 7s, and do you know any other shoes that have the same tech as original Jordan 7s that I could use as donors?? And I've been looking I can't find any vids on Jordan 7 soleswaps with a step by step process like that
+Cyrus Irani I believe the original issues encapsulated air. Many of the retros today are top loaded air soles so you're going to run into problems looking for a similar type of setup. It's honestly not worth using the same midsole unless you plan to use as a strict display piece because OG midsoles will not hold up if you're planning to wear them. All that restoration will be thrown out the window. If you do want to use as a display piece, you can find air units from other Jordan 7s (since top loaded) and pull from them and fill the OG midsole as best you can.
+MJO23DAN Ok are you saying that using donors from newer models that have the same type of air-unit setup as the OG 7s that those wouldn't hold up either?? And I'm planning on using these as a display/collection piece since these are my favorite shoes and they are old so I wouldn't wanna ruin them. The crumbling is just a mess lol that I wanna fix.
+Cyrus Irani No. Newer models should be top loaded air and older is encapsulated. I'm not sure if you know the difference. I guess if you clean out the OG midsole you should have a cavity that allows you to set an air unit in it. I'm not sure what the purpose of it would serve though if you're only using it as a display piece. You might as well just stuff the cavity of the old midsole with foam insoles or just do a full midsole swap.
***** 7's should primarily be constructed out of leather and nubuck. The nubuck should be smooth to the touch with a very fine nap. Leather is typically smooth but you can see in the video the difference in quality.
Hey bro, are all the tongues on the 2015 releases different? like is it possible for one 2015 release to have orange in the tongue, and aNother 2015 release won't have orange in it?
MJO23DAN thanks mate. I did not want to worry about my almost $200 shoes getting ruined by insignificant things like paint scraping or cheap "leather" coming off
MJO23DAN thank you i just purchased some hares and the quality was good and everything matched except tongue i was really scared i purchased fakes. even champs sticker and recipt where good.
kinda frustrating the video is so long but doesn't really compare the overall shape, which i feel should be like a basic thing of any comparison. when the side views were shown, all you talked bout was the little quarter inch length of leather where it meets the other piece of leather at the midsole lol
Nobody else on RU-vid is giving clear, clean and crisp details as I have with up close shots and my perspective compared to the original. I apologize for the length but I take my time to offer all the visual details.
MJO23DAN have no issue with the video length in and of itself or the look at the small details, only the lack of an overview of the overall shape to go along with it. I feel like its a basic thing and the most pronounced visual/structural differnece between them. Does this retro 7 still feature more "bulk" through the body like past retro 7's when compared to the OGs? Do the size and shape of the grey panels still differ? I mean I can kinda see that these differences are still present from what I can glean here and there, but it would be nice if the comparison devoted some time to it complete with a side by side view of each shoe's profile. Incidentally, Complex/Sole Collector does have a video on youtube showing most of these differences between the 2015 and 1992.
starx exexexex Yes and I am a part of that network. In fact, I had provided the insole shot they were looking for on the OG 7 along with the facts that were detailed in Brendan's article. If you're looking for something a bit more closer to the OG it's going to be far and few in between because in my opinion, nothing is going to be the material quality and shape of the 80's/90's products. I'll take note of the side by side in my future videos. Thank you for watching and your critique.
Would you hold OG's in high regard or has the Retro Remaster Initiative tarnished the value? If you can't really wear OG's and there made very similar since 2015 why would someone want OG's?
+Greg Patterson OG > Retro. If you are a collector there's no question. If you cop to rock then the retro is basically what we're dealt with. OG is still valued pretty high in comparison to retros. There's still a very big market of collectors out there.
Just peeped it man. I'm sorry you got a messed up shoe but on the upside the manager let you exchange it. I've attempted to do this before (I always inspect my shoes now before checking out) but there have also been some asshole managers that wouldn't allow me to exchange pairs as they were for others that won even though I was the first to pick up my pair the morning of release.
All 3,4,5,6,7, and maybe 0ne or two others had booty cracks on the jumpman pre 2011. How do people still not know this? Lol. Where do you think the fakes got the idea from in the first place. Check photos of older retro between 99 and 2011 and you'll see that the jumpman has a booty crack.
