Tbh none of the DLCs are that much worth i guess.. but it seems a lot of people had already said that 😂 i think the devs wouldn't be able to add much left to the game anyway.. considering everyone who owns and had finished the game would probably had maxed out all the chars (incl the new DLC chars) atm and even if the Alvarez arc ever come out, finishing it wouldn't be a fun experience at all with these maxed out chars. I say the game rn is at its decline already.. they should just gave the whole game (the base game, DLCs, even the Alvarez arc if there would ever be since datamining found some of the Alvarez chars were programmed) in the first place with a proper price, instead of releasing small stuffs like this, only to make people wait but eventually disappoint them with how they turn out...
Cause i'd prefer finishing a short game (like how the base game is atm, but with the right price) but it just ends like that, not having to be waiting again and again for small but overpriced DLCs.. And if they ever want to continue the game, i'd prefer they launch a second game like Fairy Tail 2 or something with the Alvarez arc as the main story, a much better polished game, and maybe a new type of gameplay (an open world free roam like DBZ Kakarot would be awesome lol)
@@rifdhanmahari8304 I think they could have made an Alvarez arc work by raising the level limit once you get past the base game ( seems cheap, but would feel more in line with the arc as everyone has trained hard to reach new levels only to find the Spriggan 12 are still to OP lol).
Reading the info at 6:50 it makes sense why the starting floors are low level. This DLC isn't necessarily post game content and some of it can be completed while you are still in the main story.
Yup, but at the same time I personally don't see it as a very good thing. Back when I played through the game I did all side requests that unlocked right away and it made me overleveled to the extent that I was breezing through the game waaaaay to easily. Image doing the dungeon DLC alongside that, you'll be oneshotting things even on hard difficulty then :p
Would've been nice if we could've kept Ultear as a party member after this. This is how the season pass ends? With a whimper instead of a BANG? The game sold 33,650 (PS4/Switch) copies in Japan from 7-27 to 8-16 according to Famitsu; and I'd imagine the NA/EU numbers are close to, if not similar. So as cheaply made as this game is - I imagine it turned quite a profit. We'll probably get a sequel in a few years. Hopefully a complete game from start to finish, with the s-class exam similar to what was in the show instead of just fight a giant version of Shrek with a different color scheme. I like the game though, the base game is fantastic. Default costumes (and swimsuits) are so good to start with, I never would've wanted any of the DLC costumes. Only DLC I bought was Levy. Favorite game of 2020.
"a giant versions of Shrek" xD But yeah I agree - one big Fairy Tail game with all content from start to finish (and the 100-year quest manga as DLC once that finishes). That'd be the dream.
They could have added the alverze arc for crying out loud or hell a super boss against Zeref or Acnologia. The fact that this ends the season pass saddens me
@Angler Strong Thats assuming they do that, But why though. If they are planning on doing sequels then why not start at the beginning of the series, end at Tenrou arc. Then Fairytail 2 can start at the grand magic games and end at Tartarous. Lastly have Fairytail 3 end with Alvarez.
You know.....this dlc might explain why this game doesn't fallow the series chronologically My fan theory: After Acnalogia died "the space in time" that he ate scattered through out time-space/or space-time and created many timeline realities, like this game or Fairy tail cross-overs or fanfic's. (Future trucks logic creating a different timeline) (so a timeline where my fanfic is cannon :) might exist)
Time means nothing in fairy tail as everybody just travels through a gate past to future and future to past lol. Thinking about it now, it seems pretty terrible Igneel doesn't save Natsu from being crushed in the original timeline ( unless the gate was also affecting him).
For the the dlc dungeon they couldnt even make new enemy character models but reused old ones. Charging what they are for dlc to deliver such an experience is highway robbery!
I agree with you that this is a skippable dlc. I thought there’s some premium rewards behind it and you’ll miss so OP stuff like lacrimas etc that’s not available in the base game but it’s just a story expansion. Pass from me
I really enjoyed the actual game, but my god the dlc was just a massive cash grab. A few new characters was fun, but the dlcs didn't really add anything to the game.
Yup, and seeing as the DLC characters released after a lot of people had already cleared everything, there wasn't much to use them for either. I just really hope Alvarez will be added at some point, because the DLC characters and also the current guest characters have a role in those fights
@@Swrinny Yeah there Was so much Potential they didn't use. The game is only named fairy tail but it contains only 1 little part of the whole Story. I expected something like from beginning to the end the anime is finished. I expected also more chars from the fairy tail Universum to be playable
@@jeromereding4513 Yup. Like, I'm glad we at least got some Fairy Tail game in the west. But there are so many little things or choices they didn't make that could've made the experience so much better
It frustrates me slightly that this was the final part to the season pass so far. Really regretting purchasing the season pass didn't really think any of it was worth it 😩
Yeah have to agree that it really wasn't. I like the new characters though but even they don't add to much when there's no (replayable) content to enjoy them with
Swrinny Yeah the characters are great and yeah there's not much to do in this game I mean I spent more time doing the new S rank requests than I did running through the new dungeon and beating Igneel lol.
What a good review and honest one too, I agree as well there's just too much drag in the game no difficulty when your 99+2 and there's no decent rewards anymore your really only doing it for story now and even then its just sad cause I play games not just for story but for cool rewards like costumes, weapons, armor, accessories fight new monsters, have music change per fights, gain new skills, and lastly unlock new characters and new quests and more skills and content to keep you going and unlock super hard mode with 9,999 stats to increase to make up for using the lacrima crystal and have something to do while you gain everything above on a difficulty that forces you to defend your party members again and lastly the higher difficulty to give you drop rates for new items and lacrima, and costumes for beating them on Ultra hard nightmare mode lol
@@Swrinny omg I'm playing it right now and im so so pissed off there is no map jeezus and you can't even use link battle so clear the monsters away and make it at least harder for battle, I've lost all my respect for this game after level 50 of the main story, so sad :( its like the company that made the game either they are noob or they are just plain stupid. I'm sorry but this game company Gust needs professional help period.
@@Swrinny I just 1 shot igneel with natsu using fire dragon mode what the hell is going on, I had prepared on hard mode thinking it was designed for players who have 99+2 stats lol embarassing Gust really embarassing.
@@DeusVlad-qg5ni Yup haha, figured that would happen so I baited some attacks at the start of the battle in the video. Igneel somehow 2-shot my Gildarts through Wendy's buffs, Jellal's barrier and the -50% damage on full HP Lacrima. So Igneel is pretty strong, but he still just gets one-shot by the fairy chain combo lol
@@Swrinny I didn't even give igneel a chance when I used fairy guage it was all over for him and everything, I feel like I can make the game harder if I didn't use fairy meter but man its just so hard not to use it while its flashing lol yeah one shot fairy guage is a game breaker.
This dlc should’ve been hard from the start and each 10 floor you fight a wizard saint and the final or super boss should have been Acnologia in human form then to dragon form. I wish there would be more dlc just so I can see this happen but this games add-one are way to expensive for what you get.
Yeah the digital deluxe edition was just weird. 15 euro extra just for a couple of costumes that should've been part of the story lol (except Ryza's outfit ofcourse)
igneel 2 shotted guildarts dam. 23:17 If the game really is that easy, try playing with 1 character strat: put attraction items all 4 of ur characters and let them faint, while u play with the character with the hidden item for the rest of the quest
Yeah that was so surprising lol. He got 2-shot through Wendy's def debuff, Jellal's barrier and -50% damage at full HP Lacrima. You can also just make a team of 1 character before going into the dungeon :)
@@sergeanthuman If you go to customize your team there's also a button to remove characters from your team, so with that you can just remove 4 party members and you're good to go!
@@Swrinny playing this literally has no purpose other than the dialogues and fighting Igneel, it doesn't give me anything after I fight a boss, Rare Lacrima does comes from chests but I'd rather farm 100 Year Quest for that tbh
As an end content it kinds of gives something to do, getting room 50 and fight Igneel 99 was fun, a bit harder than the other bosses, but way too repeatable, wish they add Hunt Link on it, for the ones who got all character with the 9s cap status its hard to find any challenge, at least Igneel 99 does it, lvl 50 with 2 hits went down. i hope they just released Ultear and need to know if this was all the $60 SP content or there'll be more, cause if this was all... it's a RIP OFF
Haha, Link Hunt was the first thing I tried after seeing how clogged all hallways are. This would've speed it up by a lot. Unlocking Ultear would be a cool reward for this. Although the way the story ended in the game she's still an old lady, but I honestly think the fanbase wouldn't mind if we'd get to play her despite that
@@Swrinny There more character that are already there but aren't playlable but they should been (Cana, Minerva, Yukino... and Milianna deserves to be added, i hope there is more plans for content, really wish Alvarez Arc to happen and i wouldn't mind waiting if got announced for 2021
maybe I was foolish to think 'rift and space and time' would give us the space mage and the time mage as playable charactes. Getting Minerva and Ultear will take forever,I assume
@@blazivoir I think Ultear will definitely be a playable character in the future, she already has her character model and skills in the game so it's not hard for them to put her in. At this point all I really want is Alvarez lol
We're gonna have to ask Gust and Koei Tecmo, but even so I don't think it's likely they'll add more updates. I've sent in some questions frequently but they haven't given responses that seem worthwhile :c
Talk about dissapointing. It should've been hard from the start. I have no idea what Koei Tecmo and Gust were thinking when they made this. -_- Yeah the dialogue in the DLC is great but man I was hoing it would be more of a challenge.
We don't know yet. The original description did hint at something, but whether that's more content for this season pass, a second season pass or just extra loose DLC remains to be seen
They better take that money they made from the overpriced game and dlc and make a much better game/sequel. I loved the game but I also have to be honest and admit that, from a game design perspective, it was average at best. Especially the DLC was an absolute insult when it comes to price-performance ratio. Fairy Tail deserves much better!
I found it boring I was except more. I hope we get far better DLC so far high price are putting me off game dlc. Do you know anymore dlc I hope there more coz so far the needs more storylines moods an more unlockable Carter's to play without high price tag.
This dlc dungeon is really bad. It's not fun at all, it's the same things again and again: try to find the exit and kill the same mobs again and again. The only good thing about this is the fight against igneel, everything else is just extremely tideous. Clearly to end on a thing like this is not good at all and the season pass was way too expensive.
