Remember doing this poem at school I wandered lonely as a Cloud That floats on high o'er Vales and Hills, When all at once I saw a crowd, A host of golden Daffodils; Beside the Lake, beneath the trees, Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Lol Nick laughing at letting one rip, that was hilarious, I love it when Nick has a fit of laughing, I always join in 😂! He has the best laugh. What an amazing break you've had,the views were breathtaking, thank you for capturing the beauty of your trip and sharing it with us all,it's much appreciated 🥰 Have a smashing weekend guys 💙💙 xx
We went to cockermouth and there is a statue in the town which showed how high the flooding got to a few years ago - any US lodgers watching The Lake District is a fantastic place to visit
Yes the RAF can always shatter the peace. My brother was an RAF fighter pilot - they always fly in pairs and were heading up to the bombing ranges in the north of Scotland. They go up the east coast as well and also have target practice areas in Northumberland. Lovely day with so much to look at and enjoy.
It’s the Lake Poets that I most associate with the Lake District, but I can see there’s a lot more to it than that. As it happens, the Nashville Zoo is on the grounds of an old plantation that was called Grassmere, but I don’t know if it was named for Grasmere. Anyway, as always, you seem to find lots of good food to enjoy wherever you go.
Loved this vlog, nice to see Thirlmere, looks amazing and so tranquil, well until the jets flew over, but what a spectacular sight. Nick has such a cheeky grin and giggle when he does something naughty.
Thanks guys, loving your Lakes journey, many happy memories. The bridge house at Ambleside was built to store apples, but once housed a family of 8! I love that bakery too, I always visit before returning home and stop by the gingerbread shop too, they also make great fudge.
Looks beautiful in the sunshine. Last time we came to the lakes was in 1999 before we had our daughter. We went there in October when it was cold and raining
"House on the bridge", in the U.S. we would build a Theme Park around that cute little building and make it a thrill ride! lol Your old towns are so darn cute!
Lol, Nick I love the fact that you are always hungry 😂😂😂 I love the Lakes, we will be there next month so will definitely check out Grassmere and Thirlmere xx
Oh Nick !!! You didn't do that in the restaurant did you lol 😆! I bet the gingerbread was delicious 😋. I really enjoyed the amazing scenery in Windermere. Think you picked the right time to visit as during the summer I can imagine it being heaving ! x
Oh my goodness I just want to move in with you two! Great choice of ice-cream Nick, love a bit of salted caramel, what a beautiful break you both had, the scenery was stunning! X
We went to the Lake District three years ago for our silver wedding. It was October but it was beautiful in Autumn too. Just love this part of the world. Great vlog guys! Makes me want to go back 👍🏼
Bridge house was indeed once occupied by a family. It has also been used as a shop. Thirlmere isn't natural. It's a man made reservoir. The low flying jet illustrates why drones should not be flown in the Lake District National Par. The RAF and US Air Force both use the Lakes for low flying training on a fairly regular basis....
This staycation has been so awesome to watch …. Thanks for sharing it… I’ve enjoyed it a lot.. such beautiful scenery… When Nick let out a fart at the restaurant I was laughing so hard I choked on spit that had been sucked down my throat … took me a couple minutes to calm down from that one 😂😂😂… love you guys ♥️♥️
That looked more like a flapjack than Gingerbread in consistency . I wonder if the fourth time you ask Nick to get up it’s a gentle as the one in the vlog 🤣
Another wonderful vlog you guy’s! Did you find the caches by the lakeside at Thirlmere? Alison and I stay in a wonderful cottage just outside Keswick for a week every September as we are trying to climb all 214 wainwright’s. On the days our legs are too tired to climb we geocache. Love from scrap happy annie- our geocaching name!
Hey. No we never thought to look for caches there. We haven't done it for a while actually. We need to have a look in our new local area to see whats around
Aww its looks just fabulous, that place where ye were relaxing and meditating looks so like a place we have over the road from us ye'd love it it's called The Vee
Next time you come to the US you need to come to Michigan and go to a place called Tony’s in Birch Run!!! Great food and big portions. They are known for their BLTs! Also look into going to Mackinac Island. (Pronounced Mac In Naw)
I absolutely love the "You and I" song in this video......what is the song title and who is the artist, please?? You always choose the perfect music to go with your beautiful scenes 💗
DO NOT export your Gingerbread to the U.S., we dont need one more fabulous desert in this country! lol You eat crickets, ocean creatures and gingerbread? I dont trust your flavor palette! lol
