This trip was taken Wednesday June 19th, 2024, taking my car to Alex's Garage in Eugene, Oregon. If you are a fan of insects... this video is traumatic haha. Quack FAQ (Or PAQ, really):
- I do not have a proper cam or mount yet for a car, so I work with the only place I can place a NoBro in it's waterproof case where it will stay put. Thus the weird angle to the driver's side.
- Technically the title, description and tags are not clickbait. Though the batteries croaked just before Coburg (which is just prior to Eugene), I was intending to have the entire trip to Alex's Garage in west-central part of Eugene captured, and did in fact end up there. A video (possibly a couple) will be coming out relatively soon here from my day exploring the park & trail system along the south bank of the Willamette River, so you can look forward to that (or those). The main video if I do two, is be shot on a proper quality lens, and not through a well used windshield and scratched up waterproof case. Heh.
- My windshield is not dirty, but merely rich with experience and history of which your "pristine machine" pales in comparison and degrading jealousy for the stories of which it wishes it could tell... for shame!
- If you guessed that the length of this video (thus trip) is suspiciously short for such a trip, you'd be correct, however, everyone AND I MEAN EVERYONE was bombing it down I-5 this particular day, and noticeably more than usual. So far in my albeit limited experience driving this chunk of I-5, I've found the average speed people go is about 80-85mph, whereas truckers average about 75-78mph, no matter if it is in the areas the limit is 55 & 50 respectively, or up through Oregon's usual max of 65 & 60 respectively. This day however, they were averaging about 87-90mph and 80-83mph respectively. There was also a surprising amount of idiots with a death wish thinking those speeds were far too slow, going well over 100mph weaving through vehicles including trucks, and truckers who rode the asses of cars, other truckers, and did horribly unsafe and badly timed forced merges starting and ending their passes on other truckers. It was... weird. So ironically, it was safest to be near the average speed of everyone else, rather than be much, MUCH slower than them following the limit.
