Cheers Marty, agree! It punches above its weight class IMO and if it were more available to people, I feel like it would be one most have on their shelves most of the time. Cheers buddy I appreciate you watching! 🥃
As I mentioned in one of your recent videos, much prefer their rye over their bourbon. Did a blind recently with OF Rye 100 an 13th Rye. For me, both good but OF is half the price at 21.99 in my area so….
No argument from me on that, I love the profile of this 13th Colony Rye, juat something about what that heat, barrels or something is doing to that whiskey. Cheers 🥃
Don't tell 13th colony something should cost more. Guaranteed it will be $150 next time you see it. Have you not seen their pricing on their special releases? 😂
I have a hard time believing this is their own distillate. Their rye mash bill used to be 96/4. When they exploded in popularity, they changed their labels and their mash bill changed to 95/5. I wasn’t able to find any information on the change.
Not sure what to tell you other than what I was told. This Whiskey is 4 to 6 years old. Why is it hard to believe it's their own? Again, I can only go off the information I know or have been told. You may know more than me though. Cheers 🥃
@@mybourbonjourney Bourbon Pursuit investigated their claims, and it’s been reported by multiple sources that there is no way they have the equipment to distill as much whiskey as they claim. Add to that the lack of transparency on their labels and their refusal to answer questions about their operation. I just won’t support them anymore when there are great craft distillers who are open and honest about their products.
Don't believe it's finished, but they will utilize French Oak staves in some barrels, but I'm not aware of them doing it with these. I'll look into it, though. Cheers, and thanks for watching and your comment 🥃
