@scottykilmer hey scotty. Long time viewer, first time inquirer. I have a 2002 honda crv which was running great. Check engine light comes on and starts getting terrible mileage and smells like unburnt exhaust. Gotta be the o2 sensor, I think to myself. Mechanic says they change the o2 sensor and the light is off when I get it back. Still has terrible mileage, still smells like gas. Can they just turn off the light and take my money?

I'm a bus driver in Milwaukee. Twice in the last couple weeks while driving a bus route, I saw one of those Tesla cybertrucks driving around. It immediately reminded me of a vehicle in one of those 1970s sci fi tv shows. It has that retro look to it, looked like sheet metal formed in a simple press, like the kind you used in metal shop class in 7th grade to make a tool box. At least that was the project we had in the early 1980s.

I learned when you change the oil you must change the filter at the same time or it's not like changing the oil at all.

@travisstorms9951 if you've changed the oil regularly for its whole life it will unlikely be burning oil. My Focus gets synthetic every 5000km and with 402,000km on it still doesn't burn any oil between changes.

I have the same car, 07, 210k miles, northeast all its life. The girl won’t die. Last weekend I loaded her up, camping gear and 2 passengers, and drove her 600 miles.

Living up north in the snowbelt I still see LOTS of these 8th gen Honda Civics on the road. I see a few 7th gen, though not nearly as many as most have probably rusted out. I'm sure most could've still ran for years.

With no oil in it, the crank is likely locked too, not just the pistons frozen in the bores. That engine is toast.

I tell ya what you do take the dang ol spark plugs out and in the little hole put a lil mystery oil down there let it sit a while then rotate it again or push it down a hill and jam it into gear till it goes BOOM

u can use marigold oil or Lucas or magic oil Put into top of each plug hole after I pull each spark plug out let it sit overnight then hand turn it some times you can get it to crack loose! U turn it both ways then it breaks loose

Pull the plugs and squirt some oil in there. See if that loses it up. I’ve done that twice and drove for months.

I know I'm not the only one who thinks it's funny when somebody calls it "WD Farhty" instead of WD forty. They usually also call Vicks Formula 44 as "Farhmula farhty farh." I know I can't be the only one that's heard somebody say that. Or "aarl" instead of "oil."

I had a VW bug that had a bad ground wire on the starter. Replaced with a 8ga. Wire my brother-in-law had in his garage.

My local Freighliner dealership sells truck batteries for like $90. Screw expensive batteries. Buy cheap batteries and with the money you save, get a battery maintainer. Will make the battery last much longer when sitting. I have a lot of work vehicles thst sit over winter. Maintainers are absolutely required.

How did I get to 287,000 and running great? Still following the old rule of oil changes every 3,000 miles. Well worth it. Dad’s 30 year old car gets the same treatment with the oil changed every 3,000. Transmission fluid and filter every year, especially if you’re city driving most of the time.

Why cant you spray some used motor oil in each cylinder and see if that will allow the rings to free up. Here in lincoln nebraska at upull it you kan get a motor for $550 with warranty so why not put another motir in it. It is bad that a man with your money and experience doesn't start a school for everyone that wants to learn!

Just the Best! Fortunately, I found a local mechanic who listened to me about watching some of your videos, and now my 2008 Corolla runs well. I am the 10th owner, because it had so many problems when I bought it, and CarFax showed it to be valued over $1000 more than I paid for it. Will never trust CF again, but will trust Scotty K!

I got a 1995 Jeep Cherokee started up thats been sitting for 13 years, I was hoping somebody in this comment section could help with something, so the car runs fine itself, however, the oil pressure is constantly 60 psi, hot, cold, revving, accelerating really REALLY fast, like pedal to medal, no matter what, it stays at 60, however, I don’t think the gauge is bad because it still fluctuates between 50 and 60. I really don’t know at this point, car doesn’t overheat, nothing, no other signs of anything that could be wrong.

The bad part about electric cars is the placement of the batteries, and how you have to put them in or take them out. Electric car companies today put the batteries in the worst possible places.

yup just like my car rotting away, those 8th gen civic didnt have great rust prevention from factory :( along with paint issues/clearcoat. Overall decent car but has its small drawbacks :)
