I wish they did an adult version so there could be unlimited contacts. The 10 contacts is very limited and there are times I, unfortunately, need to answer an unknown number. But the "dumb" smart phone is a wonderful idea!

Great video! My daughter has been using my old phone when we allow screen time. My kids have to all be in our family area during electronic times. However, I want my kids to be able to get in touch with us whenever they need too. Concerning the texting, are they able to text whoever they want? Also, sending pictures?

Yes, they can text whoever and send pictures to whomever, if you pay for that option. It is not his personal phone...he just uses it! 😉 We know who his contacts are and are aware of messages being sent, etc. Keeping the dialog open & rules in place! 😃

@peaches minaj freedom? When they pat the bill they can have whatever they want on their phones. There's a world of unlimited access to some really nasty things that you can't stop without nuking the internet off the phone. Freedom? Lol. Do you have kids? I have 4. All but one of them have gotten busted looking at things that they shouldn't. We put blocks on, and they figure out how to get around them, so they don't need internet for the peace of mind that a phone brings. I was leaning towards a flip phone, but I like this option even better.

They’re nothing wrong with being old school! Kids today should count their blessings if they’ve got parents with an old school frame of mind. My daughters are 20 & 24, we didn’t give them a phones until they started driving. Our son is 10 and we plan to stick to the same principles. We as parents don’t need to set children up for failure by giving them phones or internet access to soon. Thanks for the info, looks like a great option for kids that are dropped off at extra curricular activities etc.

My oldest didn’t get a phone until he was 15, and I made sure there was no data on his plan! His siblings behind him still have no phone but I think it’s time to get one for them to share because my kids attend after school activities and they will visit friends on occasion. I’ve been looking for a phone like this! I’m “old school” too, I guess, mom....proud of it, right!?😉😁I also need them to have a way to get ahold of me when I leave the house to run errands! I love it and agree with everything you said! I only want my child to be able to text or call when she is at her father‘s house or when she’s with me and wants to call or talk to her daddy freely. I don’t want all the extra scariness that comes with it. Like you said, I want to protect my children from everything that they’re not ready to deal with yet as well. Seem like a wonderful family and a great mom! Love it 🥰🥳

As an adult I'm looking for a phone like this. No internet. No wifi. The main reason I'm looking for this type of phone is so I can use a notes app without any distractions that might briefly take my attention away from writing. I need something that can transfer my notes to my PC via USB plug so I can work on my writing on my PC and phone. I don't even need calling or texting. If anyone has any advice or knows of a phone or any pocket sized device that fits what I'm looking for then that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the video. I learned a few things.

I have four children in my oldest just turned 16 and you're looking to get a smart phone time. And it is confusing on what to get is there are so many options allow you to put them on your plan. Unfortunately they lock you down. I don't like that.

I'm kinda old school too i hardly use my phone when i'm in the computer or watching tv sometimes i even forget i have a phone my sister kinda gets me mad because she has the tv on and she's on her cell phone i tell her if youre gonna be on your phone turn of the tv and for me growing with out a cell was the best throw out the 2000s i'm a 90s girl was born in 1997 i didn't get my first cell until 2014 on my freshment year

I agree! I'm 15 and I obey my mom to the max, she is the one that is in total control. Everyday, I come home from school and the 1 st thing I do, is give her my phone...don't want any distractions, then I do my homework, then all the chores for that day, which must be done to my moms satisfaction. Then I do whatever she tells me to do with no back talk or arguing. On the weekends, I do want she wants me to do, Before I have my "Free time"

Another option is that you can get your kid a flip phone or smartphone that is not powerful enough to run all of the data heavy apps, but have everything that is necessary. I would recommend the BLU Tank Flip, as well as the BLU C5L 2020, BLU C6L 2020, and the BLU A5L. These are some great phones, and they all cost less than $100.

I didn't have a cell until I was 18, and I bought it myself. Our oldest daughters are 19, and we're homeschooled without having a cell. They are now working and now are talking ab buying a phone since they now have lots of $ saved. I wish I saw this vid sooner. Lots of people would probably condemn your decisions, but I totally agree. You also have to be careful with family because some will do things purposely that you know you don't agree with.

I've been looking for a way to limit my access to internet on my phone. My mother and I have tried so many things: Google Family Link, parental control apps, blockers, etc. Sadly, none of these have been satisfactory. However, this phone seems like the best option compared to everything else I've tried.

We have same rules but now need something to give him as he has baseball practice , football , band activities and hard to keep track. What has worked so far is giving him an Apple Watch. It has cellular so he can make calls and text and can limit contacts but looking into expanding that now…

Nothing wrong wiv outdoor boys. I think it’s awesome that they enjoy the outdoors. We use Apple devices for homeschool but we use parental controls. We talk about how they are used. We use google a lot during homeschooling for research purposes.

This has been on my heart with my kids to... You mentioned it tracks him, does he have the capability to do maps? I.e. if he’s riding his dirt bike or hunting and happens to get lost can he find his way home with maps?

@@SimplyLivingIt I did the 2 year contract. But they have that as a black Friday sale and it would have been "free" with 2 year contract even before the code SIMPLY. I am so glad I found your channel and this video late one night last month. I've been thinking/praying/ researching since then, and searched to recover this video today before I ordered to make sure that you got credit for introducing me to GABB. It was nice to get a discount also. Thank you for sharing this product. What do you think of the gabb music?? I'm leery of it because there aren't examples available of the music options available.
