In this video, the British Dapper talks about exploring a more dandy approach to your style and presentation in the 5th and final video in this 5 part series. He talks about some key principals about dressing in a more dandy fashion and shows a few ensembles to give some inspiration in this regard to assist you on your sartorial journey. Don't forget - dress like a dandy, but don't act or behaviour like a dandy.

Hi Chris, Thank you for this series. I have an idea for one more episode. One about overcoats, car coats, greatcoats, trench coats and raincoats. You can elevate your style very much with such garments and not use default options like puffer jackets. I wear trench coats and raincoats to the office on rainy days. I am the only one by far. I wear it not only because I like the look of it, I do it also because of its practicality. I personally think people who wear red or yellow pants are brave and stick out of the crowd. I do not do it because it goes against my nature, comfort level and the society in which I was born and raised. Swiss people go for understatement and blending in. Being flamboyant is not one of our characteristics. I add my pop of color with a pocket square. Otherwise, I keep it classic with white, blues, browns and grays as basic colors. Thanks again for your great series. Your videos are informative, interesting to watch and you have your own, unique presentation style which resonates to me.

Hi Kay, thank you for your support for this series. thank you for your suggestion and I am looking at doing a video about overcoats, car coats, greatcoats, trench coats and raincoats etc, in the future. the weather has warmed up recently and were are heading into warmer weather so I will be shooting and making the video in the cooler autumn time. I appreciate that the colour arrangements I have shown in this video is a little flamboyant and that is why is have related it to more dandy like pairings, not everyone taste - accepted. I agree with you that dressing with a subdued conservative colour pallet is an elegant and understated look. As you state adding just a small pop of colour can be just as impactful. The video series is about showing options and exploring different styles and the use of different colours to encourage others to try something they had not tried before and that obviously does take courage to step out of ones comfort zone. Each to there own and I glad you ae enjoying the videos and find my style resonates with you🙂 Thanks for your continued support 👍🙂

Chris, Very impressive content. I like the modern interpretation of the dandy. I've been experimenting with it for years and while not going over the top, purposeful flair is always part of the game. Beautiful cloth, tasteful patterns and color combinations and a variety of textures are the tools. A vast collection of neckties and pocket squares ices the cake. Breadth and depth in the shoe inventory makes a big difference as well. Throw in some imagination and courage and you're laughing. Cheers

Hi Douglas, great to hear from you again, I'm glad you understand the message in the video, about being flamboyant and flair being part of the game. I would also note that it can be done to excess, but the use of quality clothing, tasteful colour selections and range of shoes certainly give a person so much flexibility and choice, some people do not want to stand out and that is fine, others do and that is also fine, but will practice and learning a person might change or there style evolves. Thank you for all your videos, Chris. My sartorial journey is just beginning. I don't have a job that requires me to be in a suit more than a couple of times a year. And I don't live in an area where people dress up regularly. But recently, I've been wearing my blazer out more and very much enjoyed the compliments. You've given me some ideas to work towards! Good morning Chris. Agree with you on Preseption. Your shooting jacket and fedora is really my style. I would Go with chinos or cavalry cloth trousers myself I rarely wear jeans but it is a good look. I am Starting to wear a cravat more often. Getting too warm outside now though. I appreciate the temperature can make it more difficult to continue wearing them. The great thing about these looks I've created, you can easily interchange the jeans for other forms of trousers to create a more dandy approach. Thanks for your comments and continued support👍🙂

Hi Chris, I've very much enjoyed this serie and, once again, I've learned a thing or two. Like Kay suggested I also would like a video about different practical yet stylish items. Can one goes outdoors camping in style? Another one is about how different cultures influence style. Perhaps youthcultures like mods and Jamaican music influenced styles. Hi Sjoerd, glad you enjoyed the video and I am planning a video on different forms of youth cultures and how they still influence peoples style, the music of the time also is explored as part of that exploration.👍🙂 Not sure about the camping one, I tend to fall into the practical and technical side of it, having been a mountaineer for many years, but I'll have a think about it, when I started mountaineering, we wore plus four trousers and full grained leather boots etc. Thanks for your continued support and comments. 👍🙂

Fantastic style 👏 I personally like to wear jeans and Harries Tweets jacket, leather jacket. Practical wear's. Thank you for your Show. I would like to see how correct to tie an bowtie,if I try I have not great success.

Chris, love all your looks as somebody who my wife describes as a "eccentric dresser". To be honest I just wear a lot of checked sports coats, cravats and Prince if Wales suits.Love your content, keep it going.

it was very educational thank you. though one question, it is ok put a pen in the chest pocket along with a handkerchief?

Hi Dok, ordinarily from a sartorial point of view then the answer would be it's not really appropriate to have a pen in the breast pocket as well as a pocket square, but from a functional point of view if you are constantly using a pen it would be understandable, however the inside pocket in a jacket is designed for pen storage. The origins of the breast pocket was for the easy storage and use of a handkerchief which would have been loaded with scent to mask unpleasant smells from the open sewers and whilst now largely redundant for this purpose, the pocket remains as part of the design of a jacket and now tends to be used for pocket squares. I would suggest that storing your pen in the inside pocket is more sartorial. Glad you enjoyed the video👍🙂

So I get comments like ... Dad, you look like a farmer ... or Dad, you look like a Russian gangster ... or I get accused of being a 'Well Dressed Gentleman' (its a euphemism, not a compliment), but I'm old enough to not give a damn. I wear tracky bottoms and a tee-shirt and people still stop me in the street to get a photo. Its all about the panache and not the threads you've got on your back. Wear what you like and dare to be yourself !

I got that tie from a company called Trotter & Deane many years ago, but they no longer maker ties. Ralph Lauren make ties in a similar style/design 🙂 Hope that helps 👍🙂

Hi there, you are absolutely right, I just think is is worth exploring a different style, that someone might like to emulate or try and that might start them of on a sartorial journal of their own.
