We moved to Rhinelander as a young family, rented on Bass Lake Loop when only 4 houses were there across from Nellie and Clyde Winn who developed South Pine Highlands where we bought and built. Wonderful people. Clyde hand dug a basement for that cottage. Paper mill changed hands several times, new hospital built, library added to, Hurrah, Dairy Queen still there! mall downtown now a puzzle, what is the refurbed houses out of town toward Cirillis? So much more including. the original feed mill I am happy to say the owners cared enough to preserve it. Is the A&P /hardware store still there? So much is missing, senior housing, art in the old Federal building, and HODAG park on the water where we had 4th of July until a super storm came thru in 1975.
