I really love your film. When I was on Arran we also had just a bad sight from Goatfell, kinda sad but everything else was great. For me it is still funny that everyone I met on Arran and the rest of Scotland is so excited about the red squirrels. In my Hometown there are about 3 to 5 living around my House and in every Park you can only find the red ones. I grew up and just now the red ones. So I guess your reaction on red squirrels is like mine to the grey ones.
Arran Cheese And Ice Cream is the best you can get. (You can buy Arran Ice Cream in the large Asda at Ardrossan and you can fill up with reasonably priced petrol there too. Before and after catching the Ferry at Ardrossan. ) There are swans 🦢 on 5he sea 🌊 at Brodick. There are two Co ops , where you can buy the small tubs of Arran Ice Cream 🍦. Arran is called Scotland rolled into One ☝️ and the grazing cattle 🐮 make them produce the best milk and cream, that is why it’s the best cheese and ice cream 🍦. Lochranza The Seal Bay Campsite 🏕 has Pods you can hire , however they are booked up a year in advance so you need to pre book them well in Advance . There is an Hotel 🏨 there too. You can park lightweight tents , Motor homes and Caravans at Seal Bay Campsite 🏕. Because it is overlooking the sea 🌊Mosquitoes are not as bad as in the rest of Scotland 🏴. A lot of Caravanners have their flag poles displaying the 🏴 flag . At National Holiday Times a lot of Glaswegian Families come to Arran for a holiday ! Nobody could be disappointed with the Isle of Arran , lots of Ferries ⛴ to the Mainland . We bought a tub of Coronation Chicken 🍗, and a tub of Chicken Tikka and cheese topped bread buns from the Co op , and had them with Earl Grey Tea ☕️ And Azira Coffee from the flask , with a Lemon Drizzle Cake 🍰 And a Carrot 🥕 Cake 🍰. The grandson had his Arran Ice Cream . There is also a Chinese And Indian Take Away as well as others.
Nice edit and storytelling. Shame about the views from Goatfell as they can be spectacular. I took my son up 3 years ago when he was 12 -- 3 years ago today in fact! And the same thing happened. No views. I've never managed to get him to agree to going back up again. One day maybe! Your drone footage was on point the way. I have to get me one of them!
Grew up on Arran. Left when I was 18 for university. Amazing video man! Especially your love of wildlife. Although never heard Lochranza being described as the Loch of Seals haha! Whilst in Lochranza I hope you caught the Red Deer on the golf course.
Thank you so much for watching and for the comment, Scott. What an amazing place to grow up - so much amazing wildlife and beautiful landscapes right on your doorstep. And yes, I did manage to see red deer! Thanks again for watching, really appreciate it 👍
@@JamesBTravel Totally stunning place to grow up. The winters can be challenging though...but still when the mountains have snow on them it's totally magic! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
Awesome video! I love all the details added like the sound effects of the waves. That hike does sound tough! Ah man, it's a shame there was no view but it still looks like an awesome experience. It's great that there are so many red squirrels there! I went to Thormby where we saw many on a school trip. Wow, that drone clip at 4:24 is amazing!
How amazing my RU-vid video i watch this morning is arran , going there in two weeks and can’t wait, you would not believe I live on west coast of Scotland and never been far as I am disabled, loved the video it even helps people like me 👍
The Kerrs on an island called Arran who would have thought that lol. Clan Kerr was one of the first I was matched with by DNA, the amount of 'Ar' named people and places I have found, love it. Looks like a great Island as well. Going to look into Ardrossan harbour as well now.
James this is so well done. Love the story line and how you clipped it all together. I would definetly be climbing goatfell. Beautiful area. Look forward to future adventures of 2019.
Thanks so much Liz, I’m really pleased to hear you found it helpful! Im sure you’ll have a lovely time there. Let me know if you have any other questions :)
I live only 4 miles from Ardrossan. I have been to Arran many times and climbed Goatfell ( on a sunny day) and yes you can see for miles. I have also had the pleasure of cycling round this amazing island.. Why not go to Island of Bute another great Island . You get the ferry from Wemyss Bay to Rothsay will worth a visit.. Great vid loved watching it..
@@JamesBTravel take ur bikes with you , round trip is about 28 miles. There are 5 really good climbs on the way round. I cycle this beautiful Island at least once a year.. have fun..
Thanks you need more subs your vids are so good just been to arran and this video was so helpful for what to do i want to go to skye soon so another vid on that would be great
Thank you, I really appreciate the kind words. I’m in Mexico at the moment and will have some new videos when I’m back, then will probably do some more stuff in the UK.
We were there two weeks ago. Beautiful. It was 24C and blue skies - loved it. We didn't climb Goatfell, I have an injured back. But next time we will. You missed the amazing 'Library' up in the woods on the south of the Island - or perhaps you are saving it for another video. I want to live on Arran.
Good stuff man, keep it up! Subbed. But if you want to to get much better quality on RU-vid, consider to upload in 2k or even in 4k, even if your your camera just a regular FullHD. RU-vid gives much better bitrate to bigger resolutions.
Was there last month.I especially loved Lochranza. Love Arran! Great video James! Very informative and beautifully done. I'll be back to catch some things that you mentioned, that we missed.
Wow you are so underrated! This video is amazing and you deserve way more attention. I’ve just come home from my 15th visit to Arran and once again it has been amazing. We stay in a beautiful cottage down by the south end (Kildonan) thanks for making this video and you got some beautiful drone footage
Wow 15th visit! You must really love Arran! I’ll have to try and make it down to the south next time. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovey comment - really appreciate it
I love Arran, many fond memories of being there every year with family as a kid. i'm going alone next month with some weed for a little escape while Scotland's actually got some sunshine haha Intend to climb Goat fell again. Last time i was there i lost my friend in the clouds who disappeared on mushrooms xD Luckily he didn't die, we found him at the bottom 5 hours later after using a strangers phone who we met building a fire in the darkness on our descent
@@JamesBTravel I want to visit Edinburgh and take a 3 day bus trip to: - Eilean Donan Castle - Glencoe - Quiraing Mountain Pass - Old Man of Storr - Five Sisters of Kintail - Loch Ness That is the plan - today. 😁 Maybe alone, or with 1 till 2 friends.
There’s not a huge population, but the people we met were some of the friendliest and warmest people we’ve ever met travelling. At one point, a couple who work in the whisky distillery heard we’d missed the last bus and offered to drive us 45 mins back to our Airbnb.
