About piano:
For many years, French company Pleyel was among the most respected piano builders in the world, next to Steinway&Sons, Bösendorfer and Bechstein. The Pleyel concert grand used in this recital formerly belonged to the legendary pianist and pedagogue Svetislav Stančić (1895-1970), who acquired it in 1924 from Paris. Pleyel piano stayed at his home and many of famous pianists use to play on it while in Zagreb. It is an example of rare instrument from that time, in both visual and acoustic terms. Ljubomir Gašparović completely restored the piano so now it is used for Svetislav Stančić’s Pleyel Piano Series, organized by Artistic Organization Cristoforium. Piano is now part of the Danijel and Ljubomir Gašparović Piano Collection, largest private collection of pianos in Croatia and Balkan area.
