A Sea Kayak Expedition around the Scottish Islands of Raasay & Rona

Back in May 2018 we set off in perfect west coast sunshine for a sea kayak trip around the Scottish islands of Raasay and Rona. Starting off on Skye, this is a wild camping adventure that shows Scotland at it's very best. The most beautiful country in the world?

The main music is by neighbour Hugh Carter, it's as yet unreleased, but he enjoyed my other videos, and asked me if I like to use it. Lovely man.

I used to live a few miles north of Applecross... have sailed over to Raasay & Rona decades ago... brought back wonderful memories!

Loved this. So beautiful. Amazing filming. Loved the underwater shots. I’m doing a trip to Raasay in a few days. Watching several vids to get myself even more filled with anticipation!

Love it - fantastic video. I’m planning on making the same journey myself in a few weeks. Can I ask - what was the parking like, was there plenty of fresh water and was there plenty of choice of campsite as you worked your way around ? Thank you 👍🏻

I asked to park at the Sconser Ferry, just call calmac and it should be fine. Water a bit of a challenge, just look for wee streams, coming down to the shore. There is very little camping on the east coast of Raasay, but the north and west, plus Rona have some options, with a few small islands too, but you will need to drag the kayaks out, I didn't see any beaches away from houses.
