I HATE long videos but somehow didn’t realize yours was long at all. I felt like the child sitting in the kitchen learning!!!! God bless you and yes, leave that salt alone.
I liked the way you said this. It made me remember how my Mom taught me to cook starting at age 3. She instructed me in this tone like this lady. I was like, I know what she's gonna do..waiting for it and smiling when she said it. Reminded me of all the grannies in my life sharing recipes and helping to cook Sunday dinner. Setting the table, making sweet tea, cooking the cornbread in an iron skillet. Make some if that please!!!!
Literally watched this video this morning and was Literally making the broccoli salad for lunch by 1pm. Lol I didn't have any raisins but I did have some pitted dates so I chopped them up and added as a substitute also added a little white wine vinegar. Thanks for the recipe. It really was the best broccoli salad I've ever had! Your meal looks delicious. You remind me so much of my Grandmother.❤
Hi Keneisha! So glad you enjoyed the Broccoli salad! It was creative to substitute the dates for raisins! Creativity and love are the two most important elements in cooking! TFS! BLESSINGS 🥰
America/Come On In ! My beautiful mother Mary... (God Bless Her Soul In Spiritual Glory) was an amazing cook. She went home to glory, at the blessed age of 90 years old. She worked for a long-time until, she became ill... but she still would sit in her favorite chair and slowly move from one part of the kitchen to the other, getting whatever wonderful ingredients to cook for our families and some of the neighbors. We helped but my mom... was very sensitive about anyone helping her cooking those great tasting "Southern Comfort Meals" All we could do was watch, sneak a taste before breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner was complete. Sometimes... when my mother would take breaks and lay down in her room (nearest to the kitchen) the smells were so intoxicating... I would go and sneak a taste of food simmering on the stove. My mother had a keen ear because there was a squeaky noise on the wood floor boards, whenever anyone walked pass her room... heading towards the kitchen. While taking a brief rest... my mother would say, "Who's in the Kitchen??!!" The food isn't ready yet!!! I would get a quick taste and run back into my mom's room, telling her... "Mom, I was just checking to make sure the food wasn't burning and checking on you to make sure you're OK." My Mom would reply, "UMMMM HUMMM!" Whenever, we visit your "Come On In !" website it makes my mouth water... with fond flavorful reminders/memories of my lovely mom's Southern South Carolina, "FABULOUS COOKING." We were so blessed, to be able to "CALL MOM" and ask... "What's that special seasoning you put in this food or that dessert??!!" NOW, my older sister is, our families go to, for our beautiful mother's special ingredients for Southern South Carolina, "FABULOUS COOKING." Everyone knows... absolutely, there's NOTHING THAT COMPARES TO A MOTHER'S FIERCE COOKING! LOVE & MISS YOU VERY, VERY MUCH BEAUTIFUL MOM!!!
Angelica RoseM Your story (experience & memories) of your beloved mother was very ❤ heartfelt & beautiful! Thanks for sharing (I felt that 💘 love & warmth & it even made me cry)! 👑😢☺😃
I loved the way you did that broccoli salad miss peggy we love salad peanuts that's all im adding chief choose!! Looking very delicious ..have a blessed Sunday eating 😊😍
I love your cooking style and I love the story about you crediting the food. Especially the part when you said now that I think about it where in the world did they think the food came from 🤣🤣😭😭😭 I needed that laugh. Thanks for always making my day with your videos.
This looks great but I wanna tweak it without salt, use Mrs Dash, I too use red onions, I used turkey bacon, always turmeric and cumin and celery salt. Delicious 😋
You were a natural born, take-charge leader with those stories about the steps & hot links & rice!! "Where did they think they came from?" Ha! 🤣 Determined little girl on a mission!🏅 🥰 Cabbage is now on my dinner menu.
I Just Came Across Your Channel I Was So Delighted To See The Broccoli Salad. I never had Broccoli Salad. It Looks Great. I Love Broccoli I take About 3 or 4 Fresh Broccoli Florets. Rub Them Into Little Pieces and Sprinkle Them Through My Potato Salad. But Seeing Your Broccoli Salad Has Given Me A New Dish To Make With My Favorite Vegetable. Your Whole Dinner Is Amazing!! God Bless You And Your Family.
I just love your channel. Not only the cooking but more important your spiritual encouragement and prayer!!! Praise God for your witness. Does my heart good. God bless keep up the good work.
I absolutely LOVE your style of cooking. Her style of down home talking is so relaxing. And this is the first time l ever heard somebody tell childhood stories 'bout gittin' a "whuppin'" (l can relate) while cooking. Yes ma'am this takes me back. And l will definitely try that delicious-looking cabbage. l wanna try that broccoli salad. And, as you said, "praise the Lord" l came to this channel. God bless! @34:37....never cook with your windows closed, or with low ventilation. I learned by experience.
Dear Friends of God......................Please research God's Time/Calendar in Genesis 1:14 before a False Sabbath law is enforced! Actions are in progress to honor a Sabbath day, “Green Sabbath”, “Laudato Si, par. 237”, etc. Already today, there are Sunday laws written on government books. The true Sabbath Is not Friday, Saturday, Sunday, etc. The true Sabbath is calculated by true time, Genesis 1:14. The first week.....the new moon day, the six work days and the Sabbath day. The second, third and fourth week........six work days and then Sabbath day. Genesis 1:14 is a commandment from God. God commanded us to let the lights in heaven be for days, years, etc. We are to use the sun, moon and stars to calculate our days, years, signs, seasons, Sabbaths, etc., not the Gregorian calendar or any other man-made time. The Sabbath commandment is one of the Ten commandments listed in Exodus 20 and It is just as important as the other nine commandments. It is to be kept! God has three category of days in the Bible, the new moon day, the six work days and the Sabbath day. God’s months start with the new moon day, which is the first day of the month. The Gregorian calendar do not start its months with the new moon day. The new moon day falls anywhere and everywhere on the Gregorian calendar. Sometimes, on the famous Gregorian calendar, the new moon day falls on the “Gregorian Seventh day Saturday Sabbath.” How can it both be the first day of the month and the seventh day Sabbath? This along should help a person to see that the Gregorian calendar is not true time and that the Biblical Sabbath should not be calculated by it. The Sabbath is a sign between God and His people Israel and whosoever join themselves to them. One law is to Israel and to the stranger. Exodus 12:48,49 Also, research the "Seven Noahide Laws" and Education Day U.S.A. Do the “Seven Noahide Laws” From my research online, these laws are Jewish laws taken from their writings, namely the Talmud. The first law in “The seven Noahide laws" forbids the worship of idols. According to Jewish writings, the worship of Jesus, Yahushua, etc........is idolatry and is punishable by death, decapitation. Will these laws be enforced on all nations??? Research the connection between the United Nations, The Presidents, President Bush, President Trump, etc. and “The Seven Noahide laws" THESE "SEVEN NOAHIDE LAWS". SEEMS TO BE VERY DANGEROUS TO CHRISTIANS AND TO ALL MANKIND!! Lastly, there is much talk online that the Jewish people occupying the land of Israel today are not the true Israelites and that the true Israelites are today now scattered throughout the nations, is this true? There are also other groups of people who say that they are the true Jews. Jesus said in Revelation 2:9 & 3:9 that someone is saying that they are Jews but are not but are the synagogue of Satan. If Jesus warns us about a synagogue of Satan in Revelation 2:9 & 3:9, should not we be concern? If the people residing in the land of Israel not true Israel, then who are they and what is their agenda for the world? Who are the true Bloodline Jews? HAVE A GOOD DAY FRIENDS OF GOD..........GLORY TO THE FATHER AND SON! The
ALL IT TAKES TO BE A GREAT COOK, IS TO LOVE COOKING, AND YOU ARE A GREAT COOK. IT ALL LOOKS YUMMY, EVERYTIME I WATCH YOU COOKING, I GET HUNGRY 😋 I ALWAYS PUSH THE THUMBS UP 👍 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I remember when I was five years old I took a box of crayons and drew all over my bedroom walls and I was quite proud of myself too. I was so proud of myself I couldn't wait to show my parents because I just thought they would be so proud of me too. My father played the part of being proud of my artwork then tore my butt up with the belt. My mother still call my artwork " map of the United states". Boy I can tell you that I wanted to sit in the corner and face it with a cap on my head that says "dunce" on it.
😎DELICIOUS meal Momma wow💯!! And you do absolutely amazing with the multi-tasking lol... Hi Peggy. I'm glad that you said that you can add or subtract the ingredients in recipes according to your taste. Some folks think that recipes are written on stone. 😆😉😍I add a lil white vinegar and add dried cranberries to my broccoli salad. Upon serving, I sprinkle on top a lil finely shredded parmesan cheese and finely chopped pecans. Yum yum! Gonna try those salmon fritters this friday.💯💥 Thanks!
HELLO Mrs.Peggy, I made my 1st Broccoli salad last month and it was a TRUE HIT AND my family was loving IT and you are right cooking is what you make It! TFS BE BLESSED!!!
Hi Ms. Peggy, your dinner looks delicious & I'm going to try your broccoli salad, never had it before, then your salmon fritters hmm look soo good too👍Thanks for Sharing💘Love, Peace & Many Blessings🙏🌈🙏
Hi ms. Peggy!! I love broccoli salad. My version would be to leave out the sugar and add cheddar cheese and sunflower seeds but I will try yours. Thanks 🤗
You can call it soul cooking or whatever but if you ask me this is plain old good assed cooking from a person who knows what they are doing. Freaking yum yum.
I love watching you cook and talk! I have seen you make that broccoli salad a few times and I think I may try my hand at making it. I think I will add boiled eggs to mine.
I will try this Mother, I normally use Miracle Whip salad Dressing and omit the sugar and Mayo because I use raisins and that’s sweet enough for me. I also use a little Ranch Dressing and real bacon crumbs. Very tasty.
This is my second time watching your blog I just love it, I would love to see your family eating your delicious food try to add it in. May God continue blessing you on your journey...
It seems like you were the kind of child that wanted to satisfy your mom & dad. Making a meal that your daddy like. Painting the steps to improve the look. Trying your best to make your parents happy.
