I left a powerful, huge, cult at age 45. Lost all friends and family I had in that cult. Thankful to be saved and have Christian friends. So, you are maybe more blessed than you know to have lifelong Christian friends. I'm happy for you and appreciate your "Unseen Things" devotions.😊🙏🇺🇸

Never thought about the disciples being friends to Jesus. Good thoughts. I am grateful for friend’s, the bonds made, several for a lifetime. Separated by long travel but still communicating. Two of which first cousins, grew up together. A family met at the University of Florida, a woman, her husband and a son born there. Still communicating with my South American family, long citizens here in the Republic, USA. UF, family there. God gives us wonderful lasting joy-friends. These joys part of sustaining us here until joy all the time with them in God’s Kingdom. ♥️✝️♥️🕊️

Thank you! Very good and thought provoking. For a few years I taught a class at a church I once attended. The name of the class was "Disciples". At one point there were a couple individuals who thought that they were MY disciples. I quickly reminded the class that we all are disciples of Christ. I also said that while I am teaching, we are friends studying God's Word together.

I have one very good friend I’ve had since I was 3. That was 67 years ago. We don’t live close anymore but we text at the very least once a week, often more. We can’t talk on the phone. She has a laryngeal hole she needs to cover to speak, and it’s difficult for long conversations. She is a blessing I realized later in life. I’m blessed I stopped taking her presence for granted.

Glenside, Pennsylvania. A good place for a seminary.

Colossians 1:15-23, John 1:1-2. Those texts are both very clear that Jesus is God, who created and holds all things together. He’s not created, but is eternal. He’s the image man is created in.

God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit: They are NOT the same: There is only one God, the Father. He is the owner of the spirit that lives in Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the angels. It is His spirit alone that does all things (Isaiah 44:24). God begat all, even Jesus (1 John 5:1). God is the only one who knows all things (Mark 13:32, Matthew 24:36). God possessed Jesus in the beginning, just as He does all things that belong to Him (Proverbs 8:22). Just as Jesus said, it is God the Father alone who is greater than ALL (John 10:29). Jesus is the one who said “my Father is greater than I” (John 14:28). Jesus tells us that everything he says and does come from the Father (John 12:49-50; John 5:19). Jesus said he only knows what the Father has taught him (John 8:28). Jesus said as the living Father has sent me, I live by and because of the Father (John 6:57). Jesus said as the Father has life, He has *_given_* me life (John 5:26). The Holy Spirit possesses God’s spirit alone, but he is not God. For it is written, “for the spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10). No one knows the mind of God unless He reveals it to them.

Colossians 1, John 1, John 8, John 17. There are many places that show this. Jesus says he and the father are one.

@grantstevenson5558 Indeed. Jesus told the Jews, "before Abraham was, I AM", and they took up stones to stone him because they knew He was claiming to be God.

@@grantstevenson5558 He said that him and the Father are one not meaning he and the Father are one being. He means that he and the Father are one in agreement in spirit and truth. This is why the exact cross reference to John 10:30 goes to John 17:21-23, where Jesus' wish is for US to become ONE even as THEY are ONE. "That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that *_they may be one, even as we are one:"_* You need to read the fulness of His word before you come to conclusion based on one scripture alone. It has nothing to do with him and the Father being "one being." Additionally, Jesus saying to the Jews that he was before Abraham does not in any way provide evidence that he is God. It doesn't reference Exodus 3:14, it references John 8:28, where Jesus said he can do NOTHING without the Father.

@@docwashburn430 The Jews said that he claimed to make himself God, but Jesus answered them stating that "I am the *_Son of God?"_* The Son of God and being God are two very different things. Jesus corrects them in this regard; he never once claimed himself to be God. He _always_ claimed to be the Son of God. That was the point of his response to them (John 10:36). Jesus always claimed his Father to be the _ONLY_ true God, not himself (John 17:3). His Father is greater than *_all,_* that includes himself. Jesus is the *_Son of the Highest;_* he is the Son of GOD...not God himself. How is this so difficult to understand? (1 Corinthians 8:6-7)
