what stops the two way blue anodised union leaking when it's screwed into the aluminium billet filter housing? The early type unions on A Series engines had thread lock already on the threads to stop oil travelling back up. Also would this fit an A Series as opposed to A+? I can't see why not. Any advice would be great.
Just bought the budget based on video as I have a super charger and just want to do a little prevention as odd time it hits 95 c after and hour or so of driving it - 1293/A series/VMAX SC - thx guys and any further advise please add
Believe it was put there so the oil could bypass the filter if it became clogged and was causing a restriction but the problem was then it would sent unfiltered oil through the engine which could also do damage. Either way of you change oil and replace the filter regularly you will be fine
As Harry says below. It's best to change the oil and filter frequently on a Mini. We tend to oil change between race meetings, or a couple of times a year on the road.
