I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m new to running and most videos I watch in running is so serious (I mean technical and dry) but your content is a breath of fresh air for me. I’m have been training a year now to run the LA marathon in 2025. Keep making more videos please!!

Fellow congregants: I have a moral dilemma. Is it "hobby jogger" or "serious runner" to humble brag on social media about an age group win in a holiday themed 5k?

Technically humble bragging is a Serious Runner trait. They would be "humble " because deep down, they're embarrassed it wasn't a more serious race or top 3 placing. A Hobby Jogger would post it on strava, TwitFace, and every other social media sight with glee, because they know it might be their only one, and they want to cherish the moment. Serious Runners pray to their idols, follow the indoctrination, and have strong faith that if they just follow "the rules", they will be rewarded with bigger and better rewards.

@@Kelly_Ben Yeah. You get the dilemma. Posting about it just leads to the inevitable question of how I did overall. At 5th out of 275 (with a fair share of the participants in kilts and leprechaun outfits), that's not quite "serious runner" enough to be proud of... but just good enough to not bury with an excuse title on Strava.

Just wanted to jump in to say I was 1st FV40 in our local 5k Santa Run in 2007 and still have the piece of paper to prove it. Definitely serious runner.
