My mom had a 1 cm bed sore after a month on a ventilator b/c of Covid. My dad had to change her dressing daily. Had special collagen & pads. She drank collagen supplements. It healed very quickly. This poor woman has a giant green wound and she’s barely getting any care. Her poor leg is so swollen. I can’t imagine what kind of accident.

I wish I could go see this woman! I don't have a GP I go to regularly. I've just cycled through a series of mostly terrible GPs and had constantly horrible experiences. I think being a young woman does not help. GPs treat us like we're hysterical idiots.

When I had Knee replacement my ankle began to weep. I had MRSA. Doctor said this could turn into loss of my leg.

Between the tight sandals, the bandage wrapped so tight and the swelling it seems restricted all over legs, knees calf. Hope she gets better.

I never comment on videos like this with a criticism because we get enough as is but, as a nurse, not wearing gloves for a dressing is…..a choice. And it looked like a honey dressing she applied which, to me, given that it was weeping, makes me feel that potentially a silver dressing would have been more appropriate. With an allevyn or some sort of non stick dressing to absorb anything that might come through. I feel like those gauze are gonna be super glued to that poor ladies leg.

There are now procedures out there that can improve or even cure damaged veins that cause skin changes and leg ulcers. Unfortunately the NHS won’t offer to treat the underlying cause they’d rather just manage the symptoms so these treatments are only on offer in private clinics. These would clinics cost the NHS 2 to 3 billion a year and most patients have not a clue they have the potential to be massively improved or even cured.

My dad had ulcers like that woman, ended up needing anticoagulant medication.

He gets to jog for 5 minutes before he struggled… I can literally run for maybe 5-10 seconds before my legs go weak and I feel like I’m going to faint which bag chest tightness because of my severe asthma maybe he has the start of it Also edited since people like to try be smart *sses and being rude saying “how does it make you feel now you’ve told people you have severe asthma” or “so what you have asthma” I posted this because if he’s read the comments maybe it gives him a clue to what he may have… I didn’t post this for sympathy but telling him and maybe others that I have the same symptoms from asthma it may help people understand… got nothing nice to say don’t say it at all, some people don’t grow out of high school bullying.

Nurse needs to wear gloves when dealing with that patients open wound.

Lady should not be taking baths with leg ulcer. Bath water is contaminated and will cause greater infection. Nurse should be wearing mask and gloves! Patient needs referral to wound care. You can see that infection is spreading. She's at high risk for sepsis.

Why on earth didn’t the nurse doing the dressing change on the leg ulcer have gloves on! Most if not all dressing changes should be sterile! She could be introducing any number of bacteria into that poor ladies wound,making it even worse,and it looked infected the way it was….

I'm an RN MSc .... stop carrying on about gloves ....how do you think nurses managed before disposable gloves came along ?.... she was using the aseptic technique.

That poor lady needed an ultra sound of the leg to rule out blood clots! Did that doctor not see the purple in her leg? And why did the nurse change the dressing and take a wound culture without gloves on? Poor British folks, no wonder they end up worse off.

Why do they touch an ulcer without wearing gloves?? That’s not just a leg ulcer, she has cellulitis and Lymphedema. I had a similar leg problems, which took a year to treat. It was virtually healed when a replacement nurse came out and dressed my leg without using gloves. My leg ulcer flared back up and covered half my leg. I very nearly had to have my leg amputated above the knee. It took my usual nurses a further 18 months and thousands of £’s worth of dressings to heal it up. Needless to say the other ‘nurse’ lost her job for infecting several people’s wounds and not just mine.🤷‍♀️😡

Its amazing just how many ppl go off to the gp's with joint pain yet are like the side of a house,do they really expect there joint to continuity hold out under all the extra weight being put on them,self explanatory I'd say,what's the betting she has high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and so on.
