Thanks for watching everyone! Just a few more tips: some vendors sell a limited amount of scrap, you can use these to jump start your crafting too! The Spreadsheet will be updated with scrapping ratios/mount part ratios closer to full release. I’ll keep this pinned comment updated with tips/changes!
Thanks for the guide! I kinda dislike the old world mats shuffle...kind of unfairly benefits those who scour the beta to get the early info and then buy everything out on live before this info is open to the general public. But I am looking forward to playing the mount parts lottery and seeing of potion bombs will be good.
Yea beta players do have an advantage about finding things first, but lots of talk has been around these reagents! To those who bought early it likely won’t matter since it’s a good deal anyways, but bolts were nerfed recently to only giving 1 scrap per craft. In the past they were 3-4 scrap. The bolts themselves also only give the bountiful bolts for the mount drop. You never know, you might find some deals on some items. Hopefully lots of the utility items will be useful 💰💰
I'm sure its not possible to test out now, but I was wondering if you by chance knew 2 things in relation to the Scrapper part of the Inventing Specialization. 1. The "toys from the Dragon Isles". Are these vendorable? or sellable? 2. The maximum scrap yield from "most" sources. Would this apply to Pilfering? Don't want to waste knowledge early on, but I'm trying to decide between 15 points into Ingenious for the 12 hr buff, or Scrapper, to get the most out of Scouring. I'm pretty bad at googling, but can't seem to find any examples on this yet.
In regards to the cogweel trees they put that there to as sort of a hard requirement in crafting high end gear since cogs add difficulty to crafting bracers/goggles you will need to only use r3 cogs to be able to craft r5 gear , but its fine those can be bought on the ah let someone else spec into it.
Yea you are right, the trees are useful if you plan to be a dedicated cogwheel crafter but I wouldn’t do that as your first choice unless they are just super high in demand lol
Awesome guide, you are the best!! Looking forward to analyze your upcoming spreadsheet about pilfering old mats! I just tried beta, is there a way to test myself the old material pilfering (i mean buying the mats somewhere or something), or have to farm them?
You would have to have the mats on live servers, then transfer your toon into one of the beta leveling realms. From there you have to get a few KPs to spec into parts then you can test
I personally enjoy reagent crafting as I dont want to deal with crafting orders. You can also go "devices/toys/fun stuff" if you want to sell to your realm/multi realms and you get a mix of region wide items too.
Depends on what you like to craft. If you want to gather, sure pick up mining but a gathering profession isn’t useful if you aren’t going to take the time to gather. And if you do want to gather, it’s best grouping herbing and mining together.
I find the scour/pilfer/invent mechanism a bit lackluster, although the idea is great. It's easy to get all recipes on day one through scouring and pilfering while leveling (humanoids, mechs, EZ mines and treasures all give the parts, mining ), which makes the inventing skill quite obsolete early on. Also, no range weapon scopes or consumables :(
If you are going to actually gather and make use of mining, you can pick it up. In terms of efficiency, if you are actually going to dedicate time to mining you should pair mining and herbing together for the most gold per hour. Then you can pair engineering with another crafting prof
Excellent guide help a lot but i got a bug or im doing something wrong i found the 6 treasures except Inert Mining Bomb and Earthen Construct Blueprints i go their locations but the item is not there i spend yesterday so many hours to figure out why that happened to me. I log with my alt with 1 lvl engineering and the items was there but not for my main character who got higher engineer i try to phase to different servers didnt work either any help will be appreciate it because i need those 2 treasures to continue thanks in advance
The big change in concentration was actually not really a change. It’s always been really high in beta - live servers just had a different version of it and in the latest build they matched it to beta. I talk about concentration and ingenuity specifically in my blacksmithing video (most recent besides engineering vid). Mostly about how you should be careful about speccing into it. But if that section of the video doesn’t answer your questions, let me know!
@@Penguinr2gt from my side i see blizzard want everybody to be a crafter for himself so if you need to craft an item or two you can do little leveling in the proffession and you get your r5 with concentration.. you don't ask a crafter to make for you .. and in the other side crafters want to be able to craft more than 2 items per 1000 concentration so more alts to fix this problem but you will need too much to be able to craft as much r5 as we did in DF .. how this will affect the market .. will prices will be so high for r5 .. or everyone will craft for his own and we will see a steady trade chat ?
Pengüin, in a PC Gamer Interview, Ian said that in early access, Profession Specialization Point, wouldn't be available, that wont affect the first craft bonuses right? do you know more about that?
It looks like you’ll be able to gain KPs but won’t be able to use them in EA. But we don’t really know about early access besides that quote from a long time ago… we are really guessing at this point
If you are trying to do both fast, then yes. Once you have enough points into scrapping, you can basically keep that toon as a side shuffle/afk character. Then you can focus on your main engineer (the tool crafter).
hey penguin! I checked and paused the pilfer part of your video, but i didnt see the icon from "gearspring parts" from WoD. Are they able to be pilfered? That will probably the be the cheapest way to get parts.
@@Penguinr2gt thank you penguin! I did some research too. However, the most important thing is that nobody knows "dropchances" of mount parts when pilfering different (old content) materials, and if they can all drop different rarity mount materials. if this were known and one could buy these materials in advance in DF, it would make insane amounts of gold
Bolts arent the best atm due to their inflated prices and low scrap value (rewards 1x scrap per scour and only gives mount part bolts). The "hot" item right now are thorium widgets, they give about 3.5-4 scrap on average and can give you almost all mount parts. They are a bit expensive on the AH but you can craft them for about 3g a piece.... just will be a lot of AFK crafting lol
Its the same as in Dragonflight there is a version of goggles that can be crafted but to equip it it requires engineering profession at least at lvl 1/100.
hay ... i have a question and i really need an honest answer i have not much gold to start but i was thinking to take the profession bags route early in the game and go full berserk on tailoring ... do you think it can bring me enough gold to support my alts in leveling other professions ? your help will be much appreciated cause i am confused like hell where to start from with little gold i have if i go lvling profession then i wnt be able to buy mats to craft things if i wait then i will lose the early edge pleaseeeeeee help
@@bilalniazi9738 If you dont have gold then gathering. If you have 500k or so then do professions, its not in my interest to suggest what to do since u r my competitor
Profession bags is definitely not a great entry market. Almost all of them require 150 AA and 1500 Kej to buy each recipe and that will take a long time to get. Tailoring is great for beginners, especially with their normal bags (weavercloth bag, etc.) which you can still go into. Not sure how much gold you have, but if you enjoy gathering and are willing to put time into it, the start of the expansion is the best time to gather. You are directly trading your time for gold, but can be a great opportunity to get some gold in your pockets to help jump start your crafting.
In regards to profession selection like Engineering, is it ok to just take herb/mining from 70-80 and then switch to engineering? or while leveling will mining/herbing give me KP that won't be usable when I swap? I have no idea how this works lol
Knowledge Points are separate per profession. So you can do herbing/mining as you level then just swap later. If you ever return to gathering, those gathering KPs will be waiting for you. If you have professions now, just be careful as you’ll lose all skill/non-specialization recipes when you drop them
That depends on you. atm its 5 serevite bolts per 1 scrap (with no specializations) so that would be 6.5g per scrap at that price. If you are strictly going for recipes, and not to shuffle for the mount parts, that might be cheap enough for you compared to other options. If you are going for the mount parts, I would say its not worth it. The trendy item right now are Thorium Widgets (of course if its not nerfed). If you can craft the widgets yourself, they are relatively cheap and give more scrap than bolts. Prices have been going up the past few days but if you can snag some cheap ore, dont mind smelting then crafting the widgets (lots of afk crafting), you can find a deal there.
Up to you. If you are getting Engineering for the utility aspects for mythic+/raider, cant go wrong with the utility bonuses of Alchemy. If you are getting it for goldmaking, it can really pair with anything.
Is there a list of all the items you can produce scrap from? It cant be all; the list is way too small and you only mouseover a few, Its hard to recognize the rest.
@@Penguinr2gt That is so awesome! Thank you so much; I have an additional question if you dont mind, is everything on the list 1 to 1? In the vid you can see bolts, and they are 5 bolts to 1 part. Could you maybe add numbers to the first colum? That would be ever so kind! And by the way; subscribed :P Edit: Or fused wiring; you craft 5 with one crafting; but if 5 wires are 1 part then its not that good of a deal etc. EDIT2: ignore my request; just got it that the skill ALWAYS takes 5 of the items that are pilfered through, sometimes I'm kinda dense. Thank you :)
