My water was smelling like plastic and I found your video. Hopped in Amazon and ordered the wand, the 1 1/16 socket, rod, and whole house filter. Because of your video I felt confident and safe throughout the entire process and was able accomplish this on my own. Thank you for making this!

“Sacrificial Stuff” from your rod… yep that’s where the smells come from for sure… good video. Cleaning the hot water tank is a must.. we do it a couple times a year. No smells.

I have used peroxide to do this. I send a quart of it directly into my pipes and water heater. Let it sit for a couple hours. Flush it all out by running the water throughout the camper for 5 mins. The smell is gone and stays gone for a good while. Semper Fi, leatherneck!!!

Thanks for sharing this. We rent out rvs and have 9 now. Our latest one has some bad smell and my wife loves to use vinegar for everything so I am going to try this.

WOW this is very detailed! But, love all the ideas. I needed to change my water filter for the longest time YIKES! I am guilty of not changing it as much as I'd like to. The water heater is a whole other story. Can definitely use these ideas for my own tank! ♥ XO ♥ Bloggin Brandi

I heard to use 60% vinegar mixture. I live full-time in my trailer. I use the fresh water tank quite often because if the city water gets shut off, I still have water.

we never use our fresh tank either, but we do the tank sanitize and lines to make sure we have covered our bases.

Wow thank you for the great review. I just left the nautilus on city water connection. I didn’t need to use sanitize as I didn’t have to suck the vinegar into the system. Im glad it helped!

I got the flush valve last year because I never flushed the tank but didn’t get one single thing out. I think it’s because I winterize and drain my tank every other weekend in the winter so it flushes itself out

I would start looking at the water source. You could try an aluminum anode too that may help more that the regular one.

If you are ever going to use your fresh water holding tank, your MUST use sanitizer in that also!

Well good job. But what about ur hot water lines that didn't get the VINAGER run thru them. Y wouldn't u run the VINAGER thru the HOT WATER lines like u did the COLD WATER lines? If I missed something I apologize. Have a BLESSED day.

When you run the faucet you use both cold and hot to het the vinegar in all the lines sorry if that was not clear. You can also use a lot more vinegar I have found out since making this video too. Thank you for watching and commenting too

Did you run the vinegar in the hot lines before letting sit overnight or in the morning? If I do it the night before, I fear diluting the stuff in the hot water tank, but if I do it in the morning I fear that it didn’t sit in the lines long enough. Army vet here, thanks for your service!

Sorry just got this. You should run the hot and cold side after you put the vinegar in before you let it set. You can use a ton more vinegar too. About as much as you want.
