After a stressful day I'm towing on my own to our next site and ignore road closed signs as I neared a CAMC site. I mean they would have called me and told me if the road closure effected the entrance to the site, I'm towing a bloody caravan FFS, or they'd have been a sign underneath saying "No Access To Campsite" . I know the site isn't too far down the road. It'll be OK, it will be closed after the site turning, surely!
Remember, caravanning should be fun. Be safe, but don't worry about everything.

I've had that with my truck and followed diversion and when got there it was closed other side of my delivery point What I do now is Google and ring the customer before I commit myself I feel the stress for you mate 👍

I could almost hear the monkey shouting from the back seat 'Road is closed up here, didn't you see the sign!' 😂 To be fair, we've all pushed our luck with road closure signs and sometimes you get away with it.

Hi mate, I’ve been there when I first picked up my first and only caravan. I was taking it to the storage site to be dropped it . first caravan oh man what a nightmare I didn’t think I was gonna ever go make it to the storage yard after three hours of going down country lanes reversing going down another country lane reversing and then eventually found a route through a bit of an angle just left I did get a phone call from the site saying you need to straighten up your Gavin and when I explained the reasons why fully understood. Reverse camera.😅

Hi Graham,i suffered with tennis elbow,i had injections in both but didn't work .i eventually got some epiclasps ,it clamps round your arm and stops the tendon stretching .

Glad you got out of that one Graham, luckily there were no other vehicles behind you. Maybe you should have followed the diversion arrow at the junction instead of turning in. Have a great time at Ashridge Farm 👍. Cheers, Rob & Gail 😀

Yes when I turned around I followed the diversion. I knew the site wasn’t far down that road so was hoping the closure was after the site

I’ve always felt a bit overly paranoid but I ring the site the day before arrival just to check there are no problems - I don’t feel paranoid any more - well done mate stressful day!

Thanks for watching. There was so much going on that day that a lot of the prep I normally do went out of the window. I just wanted to get to site, set up and pick Mandy up. I was a bit day so as I left to pick Mandy up I turned in the aircon. When we got back I was greeted by an angry neighbour, she was complaining about the aircon noise. Blimey I hadn’t even reached the caravan from the car. We spoke to another neighbour to apologise and preempt and further visits, they couldn’t hear anything from the aircon. Typical, put us off this site, noisy surround houses too (music etc) and those pigeons 😳😱

I've found tiger balm helps my painful elbows. Just rub some into each elbows before you go to bed. It will also clear any sinus blocks you may have. Give it a go.

We used to stay at Ashridge when our daughter lived in Hitchin. Cannot imagine any other way into the site with a caravan. The CAMC site always advises checking the day before on CAMC before you travel website. Not perfect but might have helped you here. Had similar last year trying to get to Castleton. Called the site direct but they had no idea it was closed at the time. A friendly copper drove to the end and came back to tell me I could get through. The same road is closed now until September for a bridge repair but any alternative would be a nightmare with 8ft caravan.

Thanks for watching. TBH it was an all round stressful day and it never occurred to me to check anything like that, I never do. I don’t think I’ll get in the habit of doing it either, there’s enough to do when setting off 😆The important things is I managed to refrain from blaming anyone at the site, just let off stream in the vlog 🫨🤪

If it’s anything like round here (Somerset) road closed signs can be present for weeks before and after the road really is closed and then only for a day or so. We often ignore them.

How did you get on with leaving your stuff in the van for it's service? Reason for asking is, my van is due it's service next week. My dealer has said "all personal items to be removed" as everything in the van is mine then this would indicate that the van needs to be empty. As you can imagine this is a right royal pain. Great blog, keep them coming😂

@Dave-ps7co I have a good relationship with the dealer (and I think they’ve sold a few caravans through my recommendations, so maybe I’m treated differently 🤷🏼‍♂️I honestly don’t know. I did explain I had bits in the caravan, mainly under the bed etc. They were ok about it though..

Tennis elbow-you've got to rest it. I had it in my forties. In both elbows, for months on end. So painful. Rest was the only way. That and acupuncture. Horrible thing it was.

I had about 100 metres notice. I made the assumption that if the site wasn’t accessible they would have told me. I don’t always get it right 🤣🤪

Sorry this is all down to you! You're the driver and it's up to you to get there. Why should it be down to the site to let you know where to drive. 4 Road Closed signs and a diversion sign, with arrows and you still ignored them all! Driver error all the way!

I don’t understand why you think the caravan club should have emailed you just follow a satnav which will tell you the road is closed. They’ve got the time to sit there and email everybody they’re Cummings and going maybe next time just take notice of the road closed signs.

Thanks for watching. Not sure I understand the tone of your comment. I did say it was my fault, I was vlogging “live” so that was my reaction as it was happening. They 100% could have told me, an automated process to check who is arriving and a short message is all it would take. Sat nav? Are you joking? Waze had it as a road closed, but only an unhinged person would follow Waze when towing. The sat nav I was using was quite happy for me to go down the road. I admitted it was actually my fault. So you comment it pointless. So there 🤪
